Perfect Ruin by Nashoda Rose Blog Tour

Kai

There is nothing I care about.
No attachments.
No connections.
Outwardly, I’m a perfect gentleman.
Until my target sees my knife.
I fear nothing, not even death.
In my world, death is considered a privilege.
But my life comes with unbreakable cruel strings and when I met her, I should’ve walked away.
I didn’t.
I was too selfish.
And that sealed her fate.
Because one week with me led her into the hands of ruin.

London

We all have unique layers that make up who we are.
What makes us vulnerable or strong.
What we fear and what excites us.
But peel back those layers and you’re left naked and exposed.
They did that to me.
Each piece was slowly stripped away then burned.
I merely existed.
But there was one layer they overlooked.
The most important of them all—the tie to one man.
The man responsible for me being this way.
The man who found me.
And the killer who would do anything to protect me.

Perfect Ruin is the dark erotic story of Kai and London.
Their beginning.
And the continuing story of Vault.

**Must be read in order.**

This is a book for lovers of dark reads. It contains a secret organisation, human trafficking, kidnapping, murder and violence. It is well paced story that is full of action and romance.

As for the characters, I loved Kai. He is a cold, calculating killer but through his fascination with London, he starts to rediscover his humanity. She reaches his heart when nothing or no one else has. London is good, warm and loving, and enduring what was does shows how strong she is.

Perfect Ruin is an excellent story and I look forward to reading Perfect Rage in 2016.

This really does need to be read after reading Perfect Chaos, as it is fundamentally linked and you need the background.

A gritty, dark, and depraved upbringing has left Kai more machine than man – but one person has the power to change all that, London. This is the story of how and why, and gives us a lot of time with Deck and Georgie and the rest of the team too. It is suspenseful, has good plot-lines, and a deep lasting love. Although it veers into what we would like to believe is truly fiction, there is always a fear that this does in fact happen ... and that requires a subtlety of writing that Ms. Rose achieves well. Although the emotions that London evoke in Kai underlie the whole story, it is much more than a romance, or a sexy read – although it does that well too.

This is not light and fluffy reading, so be ready for some difficult truths, and an excellent cast of people who hold dear to brotherhood and trust. Oh, and fabulous ending to take us into the next story – can't wait!

This is not a standalone book so please be sure to read the first book prior to this one. If it has been a while since you read the first book you might want to re-read it to get back up to speed since the storyline goes through both books. I know I am probably going to be one of the minorities, but I didn’t care for this book. I am not sure if it was the past/present writing or what but I seemed to skim a lot and just couldn’t get into it.

Characters: Well written
Sex: Yes
Religious: No
Would I recommend to others: Yes
More than one book in the series: Yes
Genre: Dark Romance
Would I read more by this author: Yes

Perfect Ruin was an action-packed thrill ride and I’m going to do my best to keep my review short. Why? Because the longer it is, the more I risk revealing spoilers and with this being a romantic suspense, there are a TON of spoilers.

What happens when you train someone to be an emotionless killer and then take away his favorite toy? You turn your weapon on yourself. But because you’ve basically created a sociopath, you have no idea that his target has changed. That’s basically what happened to Kai. London taught Kai to feel and when Mother interfered in London’s life, Kai was no longer willing to tow the company line. She was his. Mother and Vault had good reason to question his loyalty, but they were so good at crafting him into a weapon that they forgot how deadly he was, how skilled he was at hiding his emotions, and just how patient he could be. Oh yes, Kai ran the long con on the organization that created him and he was so good at it, that only one person had any idea of just what he was doing and that person would have died for him and London. In fact, he was so good at playing his cards close to the vest that even the reader didn’t know what was going on until it happened – and we actually spent time in his head.

Be warned, you should not read Perfect Ruin if you haven’t read Perfect Chaos. This is a series that builds with each book, having a unifying theme that will leave you confused about quite a bit of what’s going on if you try to skip ahead. Also, you won’t understand the significance of the players and what Kai does in this installment. The book is told in two parts, with the past showing how London came into Kai’s life and what she endured because of Vault. While London’s past is not an easy story to read, Rose gives us enough info to know what happened to her without exposing us to the minute details of the worst of her ordeal, giving us a dark read without it being overly graphic. When we return to the present, the action goes full bore as Kai puts his plan into play – taking back his girl and making those responsible for her mistreatment pay. It is high-octane action and the surprises never stopped coming because just when I thought I knew who was who and what was what, another secret was revealed. I enjoyed the ride and cannot wait until Perfect Rage is released.
