Code Name: Hacker by Sawyer Bennett Release Blitz

I’m not the same Bebe Grimshaw I was years ago. The woman I was spent years behind the bars of the highest security women’s prison in the nation, my punishment for hacking nuclear codes as part of a crime syndicate I’d gotten in way too deep with. The woman I am today doesn’t regret what I did, or the fact that I got caught, but I am remorseful for the years I lost with my son, Aaron. Released from my sentence early thanks to Kynan McGrath, I joined his team at Jameson Force Security and now put my skills to use helping people.

I’m just trying to get back a piece of what I lost, focusing solely on raising Aaron and my work at Jameson. As long as I have my son and my career, I’m content. But life has a funny way of letting you know exactly what you need, and when a devastatingly handsome stranger named Griffin befriends Aaron at the park, I have to consider I might be missing something. A part of me that was locked away long ago reawakens, and I find myself looking at Griff in a way I’ve not looked at a man in more than a decade.

Just when I think things are starting to look up, my world is turned upside down. Turns out that meeting wasn’t an accident, and things aren’t going my way at all.

Griffin Moore is the man sent here to kill me.

Bebe Grimshaw is the hacker who was caught stealing nuclear codes and spent several years in prison for it. Now she works at Jameson Force Security, putting her hacker skills to good use. Helping the Jameson Force team to get the bad guys and it helps her feel better for the things she did wrong in her past.

When a stranger at the park befriends her son, Aaron, she is drawn to Griffin, and feelings she hasn’t felt in years are awakened. Griffin is pushing for her to go out with him and Bebe thinks things are moving too fast. Sometimes he seems too good to be true.

Griffin Moore has secrets he is keeping from Bebe. The main one is who he really is and the other is why he is in town. When she learns the truth, will she push him out of her life? Can he make her trust him? Will the team at Jameson Force help him and make Bebe see he is there to help?

I love this series and how each book is about a different team member. I did hate how it ended, I need more on Malik, please. No, seriously, I need Malik's book now! Author Sawyer Bennett has a way with these romantic suspense stories that will keep you on the edge of you seat until the very end because you have to know what happens. Each book can be read as a standalone, but why would you want to read them out of order? You would miss all the goodness from the beginning. Just start from the beginning and enjoy it! You will not be disappointed.

M/F romance

Bebe is a hacker who has been given a second chance. When she knew that she was in a no-win situation, she sacrificed herself for the greater good. But now that she is back in her family's lives, she doesn't want to do anything to jeopardize that. She missed out on too much already.

Bebe is always cautious and works very hard to right the wrongs she feels that she committed. But when a stranger befriends her son, Aaron, while they are at the park, Bebe thinks maybe she can let someone else in for a change.

Griffin is on the job, but is having a crisis of what he should actually do in the situation. He has come to really like Aaron and Bebe. With a big decision to make, Griffin will risk it all for Bebe and Aaron.

This is a quick read and I always enjoy seeing these characters. I really want Malik's story – I can't wait for it. These are fun and always entertaining.

Ruthie☆☆☆☆☆
This is the fourth book in the series and I absolutely recommend that you read them from the beginning, as the story flows through them all – and they are all excellent reads! We have met Bebe and her mom and son before, and knowing her background and the reason behind her imprisonment goes someway to explain her behaviour. (I have to admit that it took me ages to come to terms with her name, partly because I think in the UK we would spell it Bibi, and once I did that it no longer sounded like baby in my head!)

As a regular reader, and having understood Bebe, the realisation of her befriending Griff after we know what he is up to is distinctly worrying. Obviously surrounded by the Jameson team there is not a huge risk, but at the same time, we know the danger that she and her family are in... so it is a fine line with plenty of tension. It made the pleasure of her opening up to the possibility of a relationship bittersweet. Griff however shows himself to be a man of honour, who has finally found the person who is more important to him than anything else. Now to unravel everything and give them a chance at a future.

Delicious, tense, but given the reputation of the Jameson guys, not too dangerous! So, you can soon indulge in enjoying Bebe get her chance at rounding out her family. The only shadow on the horizon is the mission to find Malik... hopefully we get to know more about that very soon.

Dirty Hookup by Mira Lyn Kelly Release Blitz

One look and I know… this chick hates me.

I should walk away, find some puck bunny to gleefully sit on my lap and tell me what a big, hot, hockey stud I am—totally true, BTW. But there’s just something about this feisty redhead I can’t let go. She’s got an edge to her that’s sexy as hell and a smart mouth that’s been tying me up since the night I met her.

She tells me to forget it, we’re not happening. But this isn’t the kind of woman a guy ever forgets. Especially when the air starts to sizzle and pop every time we get within ten feet of each other. She’s in my head and under my skin, and all I can think about is the way she looked at me that one time. Like she already knew how it could be between us.

I’m not the kind of guy a girl like her takes home… But maybe I want to be.

Unfreakingbelievable.

Ducking around a corner, I press my back to the wall and suck one shaky breath after another until the spots behind my eyes finally clear, along with any wayward thoughts about a third Slayers hockey player needing a bed in the ER.

I can’t believe it. After all these years.

Quinn O’Brian.

Two feet in front of me. Giving me that same smile. The one that put my belly into free fall the first time I saw it. Left me breathless. And then less than a day later, left me humiliated. Devastated. Working up fantasies about the wrath I’d rain down on him if I ever saw him again.

So much for that badassery. My knees barely held me when I looked up to find those stupid sea-green eyes twinkling back at me like some Disney hero come to life.

Stupid eyes.

Stupid shoulders and muscles-everywhere body.

Stupid sandy blond hair standing up like some foolish girl just had her hands in it for the last hour.

And that introduction.

Blowing out a breath, I shake my head.

He didn’t even recognize me. Though why I ever thought he might is beyond me. Six years later and I’m still reading more into that night than there ever was. More into those soul-deep stares and slow touches. More into those tender words that turned out to be total lies.

Ruthie☆☆☆☆
This is the second book in the series, and I would recommend that you start the series at the beginning as it is so good! Anyone who enjoys a hockey romance should definitely put this on their TBR pile.

Quinn gets his chance at love in this installment, but it's not something he is entirely prepared for and George certainly doesn't make it easy. I am not going to reveal any of the plot lines, as you should experience the goodness directly. But I can guarantee passion, chemistry, fabulous humour, and plenty of hockey. There is a lot of fun to be had when someone really has to work for what they really want, and when one's body isn't in agreement with one's head – makes for some serious heat! I rather like the theme which is developing of there being a prior connection between the couples.

Roll on book three, and thank you for this one, Mira Lyn Kelly.

Fern Bryant yawned as she lay down, slipped under the covers, and breathed a sigh of relief. Home… finally. And then she realized the mattress didn’t feel the same. No lumps. Had Ivy—her sister— replaced it? That’d be wonderful. She snuggled a little deeper. And she realized something else. Heat. The bed was way too warm. In fact, if she wasn’t mistaken, and surely she was, there was a…

“About time you came home,” a man said in a deep, melodic tone from the far side of the bed.

She screamed in shock, even as she recognized the unforgettable voice she’d tried so hard to forget. She leaped out of bed and switched on the nightstand lamp. “Craig Thorne! What are you doing in my bed?”

“I could ask the same of you.” He sat up, the covers slowly, suggestively sliding down to his lap to reveal the chiseled planes of his bronzed, muscular chest. A slight smile tugged at the corners of his full lips, and his hazel eyes gleamed more jade than amber.

Now she understood why she’d found firefighter gear and a dirty mug. He was a cowboy firefighter… and he drank coffee. But what was he doing here? She sucked in her breath, ready to put him in his place, but instead she inhaled the scent of citrus and sage as it swirled outward from the heat of his body. That sight and scent sent her spiraling back in time to a hot and hungry place.

She traced him with her gaze but wished she could use her hands. She’d run her fingers through his thick chestnut hair, with just a touch of wave, that brushed his ridiculously broad shoulders. When she started to follow the dark line of hair down his bronze chest, she snapped her gaze back to his face. And those knowing eyes had turned dark as they roamed her in return.

“How are you?” Craig said in a raspy voice.

“Fine. And you?”

“Better now.”

She couldn’t help but smile. He always knew exactly what to say, whether it was on stage or off.

“Are you here to stay?” he asked.

“I finished the gigs.”

“Good ones?” He cocked his head to one side as if contemplating how it’d been for her.

“What’s not to like about cruise ships?”

“Bet we’ve got better gigs at Wildcat Hall,” he said.

“Yeah.” She needed to get control of the situation, but she was so distracted by the hot cowboy in her bed that she wasn’t thinking straight. Still, it was Craig, and she couldn’t go there again. He would try to corral her, like he’d attempted to do before she’d left for her dream job when he’d wanted her to stay. He’d offered marriage and babies, but there was plenty of time for a family later. She’d always wanted a gig on the high seas, and it’d been a once in a lifetime job. He hadn’t understood. He’d made it an ultimatum—him or work. She wouldn’t be fenced in, not when her sister could step in and run the Park for her. Besides, she’d always been a rolling stone.

“When are you leaving again?”

“I’m not.”

He shook his head, scolding her with his gaze.

“I’m back. And I’m taking control of Wildcat Hall.”

“Control, huh?” He gave her a little smile and cocked his head to one side as he contemplated her.

“Ivy is ready to get on with her life. Me, too.” She didn’t much like his smile. It looked cagey.

“Slade’s a lucky guy to be with her.”

“I’m happy for them.” Fern needed to get their conversation back on track, so she could get him out of her bedroom. “Look, you’re popular at the Hall. Well, more than popular. You’re a huge hit. Naturally, I still want you to play there. It’s just… there is no us anymore.”

“You made that pretty clear when you left.”

She nodded, feeling relieved he was agreeing with her. “I don’t want to be rude, but I’d be more comfortable if you went home. I’m not even sure why you’re here in the first place.”

He leaned toward her, still with that smile on his face.

She froze in place. She had an uneasy feeling life wasn’t going to be quite as simple as she’d imagined when she was on the high seas where everything was controllable—something Craig had never been in his life.

“This is my home now.”

“Ivy rented the cabin to you?”

“Not quite.”

“What do you mean?” She shivered, suddenly chilled to the bone. She clasped her arms around her middle for warmth and comfort.

“I’m willing to share the bed with you. After all, it’s only right.”

She was more confused by the moment. “I appreciate the offer, but—”

“Fifty-one percent.”

She felt color drain from her face. “Surely, you can’t mean… my sister wouldn’t do that to me.”

“Ivy never had the same interest in the honkytonk as you. Or me. It’s lifeblood to us. And she has a new life with Slade on his ranch.”

“Are you telling me straight out that Ivy sold you her percentage of the Park?”

“Yes.”

“But she didn’t discuss it with me or anything first.” Fern felt incredibly betrayed by her sister.

“Guess it wasn’t in the contract.”

She shook her head, feeling a ringing in her ears that tried to blot out what she was hearing from him. “I suppose it’s a done deal.”

“Official and everything.” He stopped, looking concerned about her. “It’s okay. We worked fine together in the past. We can do it again.”

“Fortynine percent.” She tried to wrap her mind around that agonizing fact. “You’re in charge.”

“We’re partners.”

Ruthie☆☆☆☆
This is the sixth book in the series. I have been out of the loop since I read the first one, but I soon slotted into the Wildcat Bluff world. I will be picking up the ones in between when I find the time, but I did not feel that I missed out on this story. I love that this was a nice, big book, and that there were so many facets to the story – second-chance romance, the singing elements, the running of the hall, and of course, the firefighters...

Ready to pick her life and responsibilities now that she has done with her adventure, Fern hadn't expected to find her bed filled with her ex, Craig, on the first night home! I love how these two figure out how to come back from her leaving, from the changes in expectation, and the issues which seem to surround Fern.

There is something so lovely about second-chance romances – partly because you don't need to question how they fell in love over the first two chapters of a story, and because it gives the author the chance to show how people grow and develop as they get older. It would seem that Craig definitely believed that the distance made the heart grow fonder.

It is impossible not to visualise some of the louder than life members of the Wildcat community, thanks to Redford's wonderful descriptions and scenes which give us the wider picture of where Craig and Fern live.

If you want somewhere to escape to, then I would definitely recommend that you get this loaded on your e-reader and find a comfy spot to dive in.

The Ford family’s eldest daughter returns to the ranch with nothing left to lose—except her heart…

…THE HOPE IS.

Logan was always a responsible boy. It’s no surprise that the brawny ex-soldier has decided to return from active duty to run his family’s ranch. Still, Angelina can’t help noticing the changes in Logan, from the haunted look in his eyes to the retired military dog who never leaves his side. He puts up a good front, acting as Texas-tough as can be. Ruthie☆☆☆☆
This is the fourth book in the series – and I would definitely recommend that you read them in order, as there are threads running through it which will make far more sense to you. I have been waiting for Angelina's story, as she was clearly living away from the ranch, and uncomfortable when she came back, so I was ready!

As her father's health continues to be in doubt, Angelina goes home, but for her it is also an escape from the crumbling of her business. She is mortified that she has failed and cannot admit it to anyone in her family. She also finds her long-time, childhood best friend, Logan, is back from the Army, and in spite of thinking about confiding in him, she struggles there too. This inability to be honest with anyone is offset with the unexpected pleasure that she finds in being home and with her family.

Logan has taken over the family ranch and is working as much as he can to try and forget the loss of his best friend at war. He has his faithful dog, Ellie, with him, brought back injured and no longer needed. Ellie is a wonderfully understated star in this book. Reconnecting with Angelina is wonderful, but also a reminder of how he is too broken and full of grief to form a meaningful relationship.

This does not stop them finding comfort in each other, but as we get both their points of view, we can see just how this is a superficial solution to the problems they are both hiding and causing them pain. Lane does a wonderful job of giving us the story without causing either of them to be too annoyingly needy. After all, they are both in good health and independently wealthy.

I really enjoyed catching up with the whole family and their loves. There is some lovely humour, some reconciliations, and passionate romance. That said, you should be ready with tissues, as there's more than one time where you might find yourself with a teary eye.

An excellent addition to the series.

You must read book one before this one. This book picks up exactly where book one ended. If you thought book one was a good ride, wait until you read this one! My love for these two guys just got bigger and better. I can't wait to see how this all turns out in the last book. This series will definitely be on my re-read list.

Ruthie☆☆☆☆☆
This is the second in the series and you absolutely have to read them in order – and if you haven't yet, then lucky you as there was a bit of a cliffhanger at the end of book one! Hmm, there might be rather a fun one at the end of this book as well, but in a much more delicious way!

Panther wakes up... already we can gather ourselves as he is clearly going to be okay – phew! And he is discharged into the care of his neighbour, yep, Solo. Now for a chance at smiles all round as these two frenemies start to realise that those pesky feelings were real and that walls are going to be broken. Just the very best reading as they combine some super hot times with some lovely moments of closeness. Matteo hasn't had anyone for such a long time that he is struggling the most, but it is incredibly enjoyable to read.

As the men return to their training programme and Panther has to get back in a jet, we get to hurtle around the sky; so well described that I have a feeling my body was doing the manoeuvres along with them – thank goodness I was on my own! I loved the intensity followed by the relaxing – it mirrored the hot and then calm that the men were experiencing together beautifully.

I loved this installment and especially where they reach by the end... roll on the reveal of that decision.

Shannan☆☆☆☆
Need for Speed is the second book in the Elite series. It picks up right where Danger Zone left us. Need for Speed cannot be read as a standalone. You will not be getting the whole story if you do not start with Danger Zone, and trust me when I say you NEED that part of the story.

If you haven't read Danger Zone please do not read this review... there are spoilers for that book.

Grant (Panther) wakes up bruised and battered. He remembers everything that happened when he had to eject from his plane. All he wants is to see Solo and get back to NAFTA. Solo needs to see Panther is okay. Panther's accident brought back so many bad memories of when Solo lost his brother. After finding out he's okay, Solo can't get to the hospital fast enough. When Panther is finally released from the hospital, he needs to have someone with him and Solo obviously volunteers. The accident and the time spent together brings out the vulnerability of both of them. Things change and they realize they may only have the now, the Navy could send them in separate ways that a relationship would never survive.

I loved watching this go from something that was just sex to something that is so much more. Neither knowing just how the other felt.

"...let me watch you lose yourself in us"

Panther finally realizing he was living a life that everyone expected but not that he necessarily wanted.

"But I wasn't scared, not anymore, because I knew Solo would be there to catch me."

Where we were left at the end of this one had me dying for the next installment! I have to know how the rest of this plays out!
