The one thing it hasn't brought him is the spotlight. Anna tells him to be patient, that his talent will win out. But Griffin is through waiting for permission to shine.

Without warning, Griffin makes a shocking decision and takes the gamble of a lifetime. Suddenly he's caught up in a new level of lights, cameras, and chaos. One that pushes his relationship with Anna to its limits. Anna has always found his unpredictable behavior sexy, but lately he's seen an ache in her eyes--and it has his soul in knots. Kris☆☆☆☆
*****SPOILER ALERT: This review MAY contain spoilers!*****

I devoured the Thoughtless series in days. One of the best book series out there about musician love triangles in the new adult genre!! When I heard about Untamed, I was thrilled to be able to jump back into the world of the infamous D-Bags and the women who love them. This book is about Griffin, the untamed (fitting title), wild child, bass playing, diva rock star of the D-Bags. Griffin is riding high with the band's success. He's enjoying the limelight and the lifestyle. Only drawback, he'd like a bit more fan attention and stage time. He becomes disgruntled with the main focus always on Kellen, the front man. Starting to begrudge the band and them "keeping him down," he starts asking for more...everything. Griffin demands without ever really trying hard to prove himself and the band tries to keep things status quo without hurting his feelings, much. He finds all this very annoying because with his awesome views on his awesome self, he decides he's had enough. He leaves everything behind when the band doesn't support his demands!! For a bit, I find myself saying HELL YEA, screw them guys! The band did react badly. BUT...when Griffin finds he actually has to work at something to be successful, we find that he's not quite the larger than life personality he thought himself.

His inner dialogue and thought process sometimes had me groaning in annoyance. Anna, his wife, is more than supportive but when he quits asking her input and help, she finds herself lost in his world. I wanted to just hug Anna. Griffin makes bad decision after bad decision and me as a reader wanted to SCREAM at him! He affects his whole family, uprooting their lives, never asking advice or input from his own wife. It gets so bad, even loyal and accepting Anna, can’t stand beside him anymore. I really felt for Anna's character!! I wanted to smack Griffin in the head so many times my hands hurt from clenching them. Perfectly written – married characters facing strife and upheaval while trying to keep it together. Stephens made me feel so strongly for them I found myself getting overtly emotional! Numerous times!!

I did find the book to drag on a bit midway, too much time spent with Griffin floating in his funk. Not enough to put it down, though! I HAD to know what would happen to the kind-hearted but pig-headed bass player. Things take an odd turn towards the end, Griffin joins a TV show that the D-Bags are putting on to find his replacement. He's hoping to earn his old bass job back with his band, the hard way, with hard work. His brother also decides to join the show and that's where I really quit believing the premise of the story. His brother? Trying for his job?? Even after he's seen what a wreck losing the band did to Griffin? And Griffin, with his huge change of heart and his new found compassion thinks that's great? NOPE. I just had trouble buying that part. I was, however, very happy with the ending and it was fun to read about all the D-Bags again! I'd say a must read for all Thoughtless fans! Good luck keeping the hair on your head after dealing with Griffin for 500 pages. (I have bald spots from where I pulled mine out in frustration.) LOL!! Enjoy!
