Here’s what you, the brave reader, need to know. Fire Down Below has a sequel. I know;
everyone’s super surprised that Amazon allowed me to keep the poop-your-pants
book up all this time.
In Fire in the Hole, Dove’s sausage-loving neighbor has realized he’s wildly in love with her lurchingly awkward butt. Johnson is the pharmacist of her dreams until he tells her over Twitter—goddamnit—that he has plans with an ex-girlfriend. Duke scrapes Dove off her apartment floor and takes her to his cousin’s wedding. As Pissboy and Cross-eyed Knockers tie the knot, Duke could just kick himself in the balls when he sees Johnson and Beth at the same venue driving Dove insane with jealousy.
Will Dove give up everything, even her self-esteem, to get Johnson’s johnson between her legs? Or will the scent of spiced meat inspire Dove to rip off Duke’s sausage-and-egg underwear forever?
Yup. I can publish this. No law against it… yet.

Shannan – ☆☆☆☆
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I am like a twelve year old boy when it comes to dick humor. I find inappropriateness in most normal conversations. Fire in the Hole was hilarious. If you don't have a sense of humor or are offended easily, please do yourself a favor and don't read this. You'll be disgusted and quite offended. If you are like me and love a good dick joke or just in need of a good laugh. Please pick this one up. It's well worth the read.
Debra Anastasia has done it again with this one. A love story surrounded by hilarity, a perfect combination! You never know what to expect from Ms. Anastasia, I love that she keeps you on your toes. Never a dull moment in a book with her name on it.

So I finished Fire in the Hole about two weeks ago. While I tend to write my reviews immediately after finishing a book, it’s taken me this long to be able to sit down and think about what I read without dry heaving… ba-dum-ch. But seriously folks, Anastasia delivers again on the laughs with the sequel to Fire Down Below. Unfortunately, she also crossed the line … no, not THAT line. She obliterated THAT line in the first book. I’m talking about my line – she made me cry, and I’m not talking tears of laughter here folks. Okay, maybe not actual tears, but I did get teary eyed.
This installment in the Gynazule® series offers up even more story than the first book and you don’t have to dig even half as deep because the author gives us more of the book from Duke’s point of view. And we find out just how far a man in love will go to make the object of his affection happy, even if to his own detriment. For goodness’ sake people, Duke kissed Johnson (on the lips, not the johnson – that’s Dove’s job) and claimed to be in a ménage relationship with Johnson and Dove to keep Johnson from getting beat up by Duke’s cadre of redneck relatives. He did that for Dove. To make Dove happy. And it broke his freaking heart as it happened.
Wait! What?!?!? Stomp on the brakes. You’re asking how we got from the ending of Fire Down Below to a threesome between Duke, Dove, and Johnson? [Sadly, not an actual threesome. Damn you, Debra Anastasia!!!] Did you learn nothing from the first book people? Dove Glitch is a walking disaster in Payless pumps with a broken heel. Her life is so messed up that not even Murphy will allow his law to take credit or blame for it. But her tragedy is our comedy and I once again found myself cringing and laughing at the situations Dove’s actions created – except when Duke got hurt by them. Thankfully, Duke got to lay it on Dove – quite literally – and make his rather prominent case for her heart and beaver (wait, wrong author). In the end, Dove had to choose between Johnson and Duke and I really wasn’t sure whose heart she was going to break.
Now in addition to the DDJ Love Triangle, Anastasia gives us a closer look at Dove’s friends, and let’s just say that between the Duke stalker and the princess-to-be, there were even more laughs to go around. But, I have to thank Anastasia for her willingness to poke fun at the romance genre. I almost simultaneously peed my pants and did a spit take on my Kindle when, during Duke’s makeover, the porn writer – Debra Anastasia – instructs Duke to tell Dove that he’s her stepbrother. As an avid reader and as a blogger, I’ve seen several bandwagon trends in romance and the stepbrother sub-genre is merely one of the latest. Slap the word stepbrother on a book and it sales like hotcakes. I can only hope that the trend is over before the third Gynazule® book is released because I don’t think I can bring myself to read Fire Down Below the Stepbrother’s Hole, especially when Tijan is the only stepbrother romance writer I’ll ever read.

There are a lot of eyes in Debra Anastasia’s house in Maryland. First, her own creepy peepers are there, staring at her computer screen. She’s made two more sets of eyes with her body, and the kids they belong to are amazing. The poor husband is still looking at her after 17 years of marriage. At least he likes to laugh. Then the freaking dogs are looking at her—six eyeballs altogether, though the old dog is blind. And the cat watches her too, mostly while knocking stuff off the counter and doing that internal kitty laugh when Deb can’t catch the items fast enough.
Debra has a smattering of books in a few genres. There are two in the Seraphim Series and three in the Poughkeepsie Brotherhood Series with a prequel, Poughkeepsie Begins in the near future. Fire Down Below is the first in the comedic Gynazule Series. The second, Fire in the Hole, will be published in late 2015. The Revenger, a dark paranormal romance will debut this summer. And last, a novella called Late Night with Andres is special because 100% of the proceeds go to breast cancer research. (So go get it right now, please!)

Reviewers on the Wicked Reads Review Team were provided a free copy of Fire in the Hole (Gynazule #2) by Debra Anastasia to read and review. Unfortunately, they’re on their own when it comes to paying for the therapy.
