The Christmas Cottage & Ever After by Samantha Chase

An exciting reissue of both books in the beloved Christmas Cottage series from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Samantha Chase, just in time for the holidays.

Legend has it that any couple who spends the night in the Christmas Cottage shall have love everlasting...

THE CHRISTMAS COTTAGE

It's Lacey's job to make sure everything at the cottage is perfect for the newlyweds. Instead, she finds herself snowed in with the best man, and she begins to wonder if fairy tales really can come true.

EVER AFTER

Ava Callahan wants desperately to believe in love everlasting. But when Brian McCabe walks back into her life and upsets her carefully organized world, her commitment to perfection makes it hard to accept the love that's right in front of her. Will it take a night in the Christmas Cottage for Ava and Brian to find their happy ending?

This book was a light, sweet, quick read and just what I needed to relax and put a smile on my face. I really enjoy combination books, so I liked that I could easily follow The Christmas Cottage with Ever After without leaving the screen.

In The Christmas Cottage, I really liked the character interactions and dynamics. They were witty, funny, and kept the story flowing nicely. Lacey and Ean's romance is adorable and their joining forces to help Ava is my favorite part. My only negative would be that the 12 years of them being apart and then instantly reconnecting as if nothing has changed seemed very unrealistic to me. Twelve years is a very long time. That aside, I still easily enjoyed the story.

In Ever After, we are reintroduced to Ava after some drama from the first book. Her whole life has changed and she isn't sure what comes next. When Brian comes into the picture trying to give her a gentle, but not overly pushy shove in the right direction, it leaves Ava a little confused. I thought this book was even cuter and sweeter than the first. Ava and Brian's romance is adorable and very sweet. I was happy to hear more about Lacey and Ian in this book as well.

Overall, this complete book was just what I was looking for. It was a light, sweet, and positive read that I felt easy and enjoyable to finish. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a nice holiday themed, happy romance read.

I am on a Christmas stories jag at the moment – and have really enjoyed the variety. These fall into the very sweet and romantic – with some delicious passion thrown in too. Really enjoyable escapism, well written and page turning stories that fill those well-deserved holiday days.

I probably enjoyed the first more than the second, just because it was loaded for success from the beginning and in the most pleasing way! Ava is more difficult to fall for immediately, but hey she deserved happiness too – and Ms. Chase crafts the tale very well to ensure we want the outcome too.

New York Times and USA Today Bestseller/contemporary romance writer Samantha Chase released her debut novel, Jordan's Return, in November 2011. Although she waited until she was in her 40's to publish for the first time, writing has been a lifelong passion. Her motivation to take that step was her students: teaching creative writing to elementary age students all the way up through high school and encouraging those students to follow their writing dreams gave Samantha the confidence to take that step as well.

When she's not working on a new story, she spends her time reading contemporary romances, playing way too many games of Scrabble or Solitaire on Facebook and spending time with her husband of 25 years and their two sons in North Carolina.
