Perfect Rage by Nashoda Rose Blog Tour

This is Connor's story.

Unstable.
Unpredictable.
Consumed by perfect rage.
I was fighting who I’d become and what I’d done.

There was nothing I cared about except her.
She was mine.
But I’d forgotten her—my shutterbug.
And I lost her.

Until now.

I’d do anything to possess her again.
Anything to keep her safe.
Protect her against my biggest opponent.

The monster.

Me.

Veronica – ☆☆☆☆
Perfect Rage is written from both Connor and Alina's points of view. It takes us back to the past to see where their romance began. The scenes where they meet and fall in love are glorious, and I have to say "shutterbug" is the sweetest pet name ever!

In the present, Alina and Connor are both free of the Vault, but the drug they used to control Connor and his actions has left him psychologically damaged. Connor can't stay away from Alina, but at the same time he is terrified to be around her because of his lack of control and flashbacks. Anything can set off his rage.

The story is chock full of strong emotions with small bits of happiness sprinkled through it. I loved seeing all of the characters from the previous books in this series and the beautiful epilogue, which includes them all. Perfect Rage was a wonderful end to a great series.

Perfect Rage was absolutely perfect! At least for me it was. One of the things I’ve enjoyed about the Unyielding series is that while you do have to read the books in order, it’s not necessary that I remember every single detail about the previous books in order to enjoy the latest one in the series. Granted, that may seem like an odd thing to say at only three books in, but I read at least a book a day, so that’s a lot of books read between releases. Just as I didn’t remember everything that occurred in Perfect Chaos when I began Perfect Ruin, I didn’t remember everything from both books when I began reading Perfect Rage.

In the case of Perfect Rage, it mattered even less because one of the big themes in the book is Connor regaining his memories. So as he and Alina recall events from their past (some we knew, most we didn’t), it provided me with the prompts I needed to understand why an incident or person was important. Of course, as we learn what happened to Alina and Connor during their time apart, I couldn’t help but wonder if maybe Connor was better off not being able to remember – until I got to the end and see how beautiful of a life he finds when he finally comes home. But all that he and Alina endure since Moreno’s permanent departure from their lives is heart wrenching. There is a push-pull between them that in other circumstances would drive me nuts, yet with their pasts, especially what Connor endured while at Vault, it actually makes their story more believable. Connor isn’t whole. He’s not just damaged either. He’s fractured – he did things while under Vault’s control that were a complete contradiction of who he was at his core. It stands to reason that as he remembers the missions he completed while under the influence of the drug, there’s no way that his mind would come out unscathed. But it is the love he has for Alina that keeps him from disappearing, or from ending it all. So as we watch Connor deal with the demons from his past, the rage, the self-loathing, and the flashbacks, we get to see Alina come to terms with the Connor of now, that she will never have back the Connor she fell in love with, and whether or not she can love who Connor has become. And it is heartbreaking.

I have to state that I appreciate that the author didn’t feel the need to have an outside force threatening Connor and/or Alina as they worked to rebuild or walk away from what they had. Rose could have easily had an unhappy Vault agent or one of Moreno’s associates targeting them, yet she didn’t because it wasn’t needed. While romantic suspense typically relies on the main characters being threatened by others, not all threats are external. Connor had enough demons in his own head to fight that an outside threat would have been overkill and actually taken away from the relationship and romance. I liked the way the author moved from Alina and Connor’s present to the past and back again to tell their story. The transitions flowed well and reliving their past kept me invested in their future. I’m also glad that the author was able of insert the occasional humorous scene to help show the progress that Connor was making, as well as to lighten the mood of the book. As I said before, I found Perfect Rage to be absolutely perfect and an incredible addition to the Unyielding series. I do hope the author has more books planned for the series because I really enjoy watching these alpha males earn their happiness.

Perfect Ruin by Nashoda Rose Blog Tour

Kai

There is nothing I care about.
No attachments.
No connections.
Outwardly, I’m a perfect gentleman.
Until my target sees my knife.
I fear nothing, not even death.
In my world, death is considered a privilege.
But my life comes with unbreakable cruel strings and when I met her, I should’ve walked away.
I didn’t.
I was too selfish.
And that sealed her fate.
Because one week with me led her into the hands of ruin.

London

We all have unique layers that make up who we are.
What makes us vulnerable or strong.
What we fear and what excites us.
But peel back those layers and you’re left naked and exposed.
They did that to me.
Each piece was slowly stripped away then burned.
I merely existed.
But there was one layer they overlooked.
The most important of them all—the tie to one man.
The man responsible for me being this way.
The man who found me.
And the killer who would do anything to protect me.

Perfect Ruin is the dark erotic story of Kai and London.
Their beginning.
And the continuing story of Vault.

Veronica – ☆☆☆☆
This is a book for lovers of dark reads. It contains a secret organisation, human trafficking, kidnapping, murder and violence. It is well paced story that is full of action and romance.

As for the characters, I loved Kai. He is a cold, calculating killer but through his fascination with London, he starts to rediscover his humanity. She reaches his heart when nothing or no one else has. London is good, warm and loving, and enduring what was does shows how strong she is.

Perfect Ruin is an excellent story and I look forward to reading Perfect Rage in 2016.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This really does need to be read after reading Perfect Chaos, as it is fundamentally linked and you need the background.

A gritty, dark, and depraved upbringing has left Kai more machine than man – but one person has the power to change all that, London. This is the story of how and why, and gives us a lot of time with Deck and Georgie and the rest of the team too. It is suspenseful, has good plot-lines, and a deep lasting love. Although it veers into what we would like to believe is truly fiction, there is always a fear that this does in fact happen ... and that requires a subtlety of writing that Ms. Rose achieves well. Although the emotions that London evoke in Kai underlie the whole story, it is much more than a romance, or a sexy read – although it does that well too.

This is not light and fluffy reading, so be ready for some difficult truths, and an excellent cast of people who hold dear to brotherhood and trust. Oh, and fabulous ending to take us into the next story – can't wait!

Angie – ☆☆☆
This is not a standalone book so please be sure to read the first book prior to this one. If it has been a while since you read the first book you might want to re-read it to get back up to speed since the storyline goes through both books. I know I am probably going to be one of the minorities, but I didn’t care for this book. I am not sure if it was the past/present writing or what but I seemed to skim a lot and just couldn’t get into it.

Characters: Well written
Sex: Yes
Religious: No
Would I recommend to others: Yes
More than one book in the series: Yes
Genre: Dark Romance
Would I read more by this author: Yes

Angela – ☆☆☆☆
Perfect Ruin was an action-packed thrill ride and I’m going to do my best to keep my review short. Why? Because the longer it is, the more I risk revealing spoilers and with this being a romantic suspense, there are a TON of spoilers.

What happens when you train someone to be an emotionless killer and then take away his favorite toy? You turn your weapon on yourself. But because you’ve basically created a sociopath, you have no idea that his target has changed. That’s basically what happened to Kai. London taught Kai to feel and when Mother interfered in London’s life, Kai was no longer willing to tow the company line. She was his. Mother and Vault had good reason to question his loyalty, but they were so good at crafting him into a weapon that they forgot how deadly he was, how skilled he was at hiding his emotions, and just how patient he could be. Oh yes, Kai ran the long con on the organization that created him and he was so good at it, that only one person had any idea of just what he was doing and that person would have died for him and London. In fact, he was so good at playing his cards close to the vest that even the reader didn’t know what was going on until it happened – and we actually spent time in his head.

Be warned, you should not read Perfect Ruin if you haven’t read Perfect Chaos. This is a series that builds with each book, having a unifying theme that will leave you confused about quite a bit of what’s going on if you try to skip ahead. Also, you won’t understand the significance of the players and what Kai does in this installment. The book is told in two parts, with the past showing how London came into Kai’s life and what she endured because of Vault. While London’s past is not an easy story to read, Rose gives us enough info to know what happened to her without exposing us to the minute details of the worst of her ordeal, giving us a dark read without it being overly graphic. When we return to the present, the action goes full bore as Kai puts his plan into play – taking back his girl and making those responsible for her mistreatment pay. It is high-octane action and the surprises never stopped coming because just when I thought I knew who was who and what was what, another secret was revealed. I enjoyed the ride and cannot wait until Perfect Rage is released.

A Word from the Author

I knew EXACTLY what I wanted for this cover and the only way to get it was a custom photo shoot.

I was fortunate to find Christopher John at CJC Photography, who organized the shoot with the amazing model Assad and WOW did they deliver. The photo was to capture a scene in the book that I love. A huge thank you to Christopher and Assad for bringing my vision to life. And to the talented Louisa at LM Creations for the outstanding cover.

Kai

I’d slit men’s throats who had families. I’d destroyed lives. I’d been groomed to ruin and not care how I did it as long as the job was done.

But what Mother didn’t know or understand was you never stole or harmed the girl belonging to a cold ruthless killer.

Flecks of who they made me into had begun to chip away the day I’d met London and what leached inside me was a slow acting poison. One that ate the numbness, brought in the light when all I’d seen was dark.

I leaned closer to her, my hand on the back of her neck as I whispered in her ear, “Maybe I am like my father. Because I’m a man who will do anything for the woman I want.” She tensed and the creases around her mouth accentuated as she frowned. “I wish I had more time to do this justice.”

I had my hand out of my pocket and the piano wire around her throat before she had the chance to take a final breath.

She looked like a fish out of water, flailing against me as she struggled to breathe. I held the wire tight, no mercy, no feeling toward what I was doing. Her fingernails ripped her own fragile skin as she tried to loosen the wire.

Her legs gave out.

Her wild horrified eyes went dead.

Her body fell limp.

I dropped her to the floor and put the wire back in my pocket. Then I crouched down beside her lifeless body. “London is mine and you fucked with that. Vault is going to pay for what it’s done.”

Perfect Chaos by Nashoda Rose Blog Tour

Georgie

I lie to survive.

Have since I was sixteen and my world fell into chaos. But I found a way to endure, or rather it found me. Now I’m a prisoner of my own doing, hiding behind a false mask so no one sees the truth. Not even the man I want but can’t have—Deck. But I messed up and the lies are spilling over, out of control.

Deck is unrelenting and will settle for nothing less than the truth. He demands everything from me—EVERYTHING—even if it rips me apart.

Deck

I kill for a living.

Unyielding—It’s how I survive in my line of work. I bend people to my will…except Georgie.
But that ends now.
I've played her game for far too long. Now it's time we play mine.

***18+ due to sexual content, strong language and violence.***

Shannan – ☆☆☆☆☆
Fantastic suspense filled read.

Deck is sexy, scary with just a look, alpha male to the extreme, sweet, loving and trained to kill. It's what he does for a living.

Georgie is sexy, sassy, snarky, owns a coffee shop, in love with Deck and Chaos lies for a living.

He's trying to protect her; she's trying to push every button he has.

I lost myself in this one. I couldn't put it down. The suspense had me on the edge of my seat wanting to know what was happening next. Mysteriously sexy men trained to kill but sweet and loving underneath is a deadly combination.

Ms. Rose has left me with so many unanswered questions I can't wait to see where Kia and London's story takes me.

Angie – ☆☆☆☆
WOW….Georgie and Deck are just…..WOW. I can’t really write a review without giving the whole story away. Let’s put it this way, it has danger, darkness, love, lust, betrayal and a few laughs as well. If you are a Nashoda Rose fan you will love this book.

Characters: The characters were well written and believable.
Sex: Yes, smoking hot
Religious: No
Would I recommend to others: Yes
More than one book in the series: Yes
Genre: Semi Dark/Romance
Would I read more by this author: Yes

Veronica – ☆☆☆☆
On the surface at our initial introduction Georgie seems fun and flirty and Deck stoic and sexy and a little scary. It doesn't take long to realise that there is much more going on than meets the eye and things are much more serious and dangerous than they seem.

This is a well-paced story with lots of twists and turns. We have a smoking hot alpha male lead and a sassy, lovable heroine. I had a good time reading Perfect Chaos and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the first in a new series, which is itself a spinoff from the Tear Asunder series. It is very much a first installment, with much still left to be revealed.

This is one of those books where the cover is definitely a fair reflection of the content and should help you decide to buy it!

I found it to be a dark, twisted tale, full of sexy alpha males! The passion, once unleashed, is droolworthy, and seriously hot. I really liked the main characters, and that the story was so much deeper than is often the case. By getting both leads' POV, it was possible to fill in some of the gaps, and watch everything unravel. The whole concept behind the story is chilling.

I was frustrated by the abrupt ending – and am very glad that 2015 is not too far away, so that the next crazy plot twist can be uncovered.
