Tied & Taken by BA Tortuga

Ainsley Preacher’s gotten used to being more than daddy’s little girl and, once she gets back to the Texas rodeo circuit, her ex, Kase, intends to find out exactly what that means.

When Ainsley broke up with him a while back, bronc rider Kase just figured it was because he was too wild for that straightlaced girl. Rodeo royalty, Ainsley rarely let her hair down with the other riders, and she let way more than her hair loose with Kase. She ran far enough that Kase couldn’t catch her, but when she returns to the Texas circuit for a few events, Kase notices something new about his ex, and he has to know more.

Ainsley left because she thought Kase had done her wrong, but she’s never gotten over her feelings for him, or what he could do to her body. In fact, she got a tattoo to remember him by, one that she can’t take a chance on anyone in Texas knowing about. So when Kase lets her know he wants a peek at her tattoo, and a chance to get back into her life, Ainsley has to hold firm. She doesn’t have the time to end up tied and taken again, right?

Sarah☆☆☆☆
BA Tortuga writes great cowboys. And bronco rider, Kase, is one sexy Texan. As this is my first MF by the author, Ainsley is my first Tortuga cowgirl, and I loved her too.

This is a second chance romance, a very short story about a chance meeting with the one that got away. As always, I loved the rodeo, loved the characters, and the sex left me blushing.

There isn’t much room in such a short (35 pg) story for character and plot development, but both Ainsley and Kase are believable, and the author somehow also manages a believable past for her rodeo pair and a believable happily ever after.

I am always going to prefer a full length novel to a short story but I really enjoyed this well written short and I really enjoyed my first MF story by BA Tortuga.

This short story works well, as it revisits a couple, so there is no issue of insta-love, rather a correction of a misunderstanding. This leads to some delicious hotness, and resolution of a wrong between two people with wonderful chemistry. For a short book, I could tell you a lot about the protagonists, and their sport. It is written at a lively pace, and the pages turned all too quickly. I definitely would love to know more, but even now am confident that they had a positive future.

Texan to the bone and an unrepentant Daddy's Girl, BA spends her days with her basset hounds, getting tattooed, texting her sisters, and eating Mexican food. When she's not doing that, she's writing. She spends her days off watching rodeo, knitting and surfing Pinterest in the name of research. BA's personal saviors include her wife, Julia, her best friend, Sean, and coffee. Lots of good coffee.
