Wildcat by Max Monroe Blog Tour

From the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of Tapping the Billionaire comes a new four book series of Romantic Comedy standalones.

Wildcat: a football formation in which the ball is snapped, not to the quarterback, but to another player lined up in the quarterback position.

Wild, Cat: a beautiful woman from the sky, who hooked me against the rails, and has me on the ropes. Sweet like honey, with a hint of sass burning behind her pretty brown eyes, she took over my heart without warning.

I’m Quinn Bailey, quarterback for the New York Mavericks.
Sports analysts predicted I’d break records and take my team all the way.

But no one predicted this.

And just like the other team, I never saw it coming.

Disclaimer:
Things this book is:

Things it isn’t:

• Short: Prior to reading, prepare yourself for one huge, long, thick… book.

What can I say about the writing duo that's known to the world as Max Monroe that hasn't already been said? Funny, hilarious, sweet, and goofy? Well-written comedy that is. This pair has a way of putting pen to paper and coming up with some of the most well written quips I've read, while creating a much loved and romantic storyline. Quinn and Cat's story is no different.

It’s set in the same world as their Billionaire Bad Boys stories, only this time it features the New York Mavericks players. Quinn was introduced to us in Wes' story, Scoring the Billionaire, and I've been hooked on him ever since.

Quinn is the quarterback of the Mavericks. He's always recognized no matter where he goes, so it comes as a surprise when he meets Cat on a flight back home. She has no clue who he is and he finds that it’s a refreshing change to talk to someone who just wants to talk.

Cat is a flight attendant and when 2A flirts with her, she’s flattered that a handsome guy such as him would flirt with a woman who clearly works for a living. When they meet again a few hours later and spend a train ride talking, she finds that he's a genuinely interesting person who seems to want to get to know her with no pressure.

There are some tough topics addressed in this book and Max Monroe does not shy away from them. The way the characters relate to those topics are on point and you can see each struggle to balance what they want versus what the world may think about their relationship. In the end, Max Monroe does an excellent job of making it clear that love will overcome.

Who's next on the Mavericks to fall? I think that would be Sean Phillips, Cassie's brother. He's another character that I fell in love with instantly. I only hope we get to see Sean interact with his sister, Cassie. For those of you who've read the Billionaire Bad Boys trilogy and novellas, you know exactly what I'm hoping for.

I am a big fan of sports romances and this is an excellent addition to the genre. Even better news is that it is the first in a new series, so plenty more goodness to come.

This is such a fun read, with some really laugh out loud moments, and some very touching ones too. But I think it is the humour and the lightness of touch which had me reading this story in one sitting (admittedly on a 12-hour flight). There are some really serious and thoughtful moments too – Quinn's parents are not the nicest of people, that is for sure, and they cast a deep shadow. But the overall feel of this book is positive, and hugely romantic. Little scenes, like Cat trying to get into the practice ground and the airplane capers just brighten up the day. The side characters are also well described, and provide essential support and humour, just when they are needed. I look forward to more about them in future installments.

The romance is strong, fun, and full of fabulous conversation, as well as some super-hot and steamy moments. The balance is perfect, the care and thoughtfulness of the leads is beguiling, and getting the viewpoint of both of them is crucial.

I am definitely in this series for the long haul – as there are plenty of Mavericks in need of romance, and whilst the journey won't be easy, the authors clearly know how to entertain. Thank you, Max Munroe.

New writing partners and long time friends, Max and Monroe strive to live and write all the fun, sexy swoon so often missing from their Facebook newsfeed. Sarcastic by nature, their two writing souls feel like they’ve found their other half.

Stay tuned for the future—this is where the fun begins.
