The Redo by Max Monroe Blog Tour

Available Now. The Redo. Max Monroe. Blog Tour July 18th – 20th.

Put a finger down if you’ve ever been a single woman who got stuck in a New York City elevator in the middle of a summer blackout with your former high school sweetheart—whom you haven’t seen in years—while pregnant with a baby that isn’t biologically yours. And you can’t believe how handsome that blast from your past is, so you unwittingly flirt with him a little even though your life is so crazy complicated you’re barely keeping your head above water, but everything about him makes you think you could totally still be in love with him.

*puts a finger down*

What? Just me?

Needless to say, my current status is thorny. And no, I didn’t miss how close that word is to another one.

Even though he’s the epitome of tall, dark, and incredibly handsome, Remington Winslow has been a single bachelor for most of his life. It’s clichéd and basic—until you consider the fact that once upon a terrible time, he got left at the altar.

He doesn’t do relationships. He definitely doesn’t fall in love.

And I’m just trying to survive a tangled web of unexpected motherhood and running one of the top real estate firms in the city that never sleeps.

He’s the jaded guy who doesn’t want to settle down, and I’m the career-focused woman with more baggage than a 747 can hold.

We’re just two friends who used to be in love.

Now, if someone would tell my hormones I’m not a teenager anymore, I’d be set.

My fingers run across the screen quickly, and I don’t even bother looking up before stepping inside the elevator—and bumping right into another human.

He grunts as he catches my momentum by the tops of my arms, and I nearly jump into another dimension.

“Oh my gosh!” I cry, embarrassed by my rudeness. “I’m so sorry. I wasn’t paying attention at all.” Honestly, I’m still kind of not as I finish typing a message to my worthless assistant, but once I hit send, I tuck my phone into my purse, ready to give him my full attention.

Or, at least, as much as my mortification will allow.

I cringe and look up into crystalline-blue eyes then, just as a smile is curling onto the handsome stranger’s face. But it only takes a millisecond for me to realize he isn’t a stranger at all. Truth be told, he’s as little a stranger as a man can be—my first real love and the man I gave my virginity to when I was sixteen years old. It seems like a lifetime ago and just yesterday all at once, but the memory of his gentle hands coaxing my nervous hips up to meet his is the kind of thing you don’t forget. No matter how many years have gone by.

“Maria?” he asks, his smile deepening further, if you can believe it.

Me, though? I’m nearly speechless. Because I haven’t seen my high school sweetheart Remington Winslow in two fucking decades.

And yes, trust me, if you got an eyeful of everything that Remy is now, you’d know it absolutely deserves the use of the f-word. Same strong jaw, same intense eyes, same full lips and dark hair—somehow, he looks as good as I remember. Maybe even better.

Goodness, he’s aged well.

“Remy.” His name passes over my tongue and has the power to bring back so many memories of the past.

Is it true what they say about your first love?

That you’ll always love them?

This is the fourth book in the series – and let me tell you that you definitely need to read from book one to really get the full impact of this lovely story! Remington Winslow's visit to a fortune teller, her prediction coming true, and the devastation that caused him, have been at the core of all the relationships that his siblings engaged in since. But he has remained aloof and apart – and as we discover... investing funds for said fortune teller, even now, years later!

I love the hook in this series of Cleo, the woman who foretold the disastrous ending to Remy's wedding day! Completely original and lots of fun – never more so than in Remy's story. This may be a second-chance romance in many ways, but it is also the reawakening of the love and passion in a man who cut himself off from all emotion due to his non-wedding. He is the complete gentleman and family man, caring deeply and completely for his siblings, their spouses and children, as well as his mom – but he will not allow himself to go there, ever.

His first lift encounter with first love Maria is funny, the second is transformative – we just have to sit back and enjoy the ride... and how sweet it is!

I always find great humour, but also truths great and small in Max Monroe's writing, and here is no different – there may be a little more seriousness to this book, and certainly I shed a tear or two at times.

And whilst I was truly sad to get to the last page, the fact that there are bonus chapters? Absolute heaven – do not miss them out as they definitely add to one's happiness quotient for the day!

I fell for Remy from the first trip the boys took to see the palm reader, Cleo. His reading was heartbreaking, and his life was what he thought was how he wanted it. That is, until the love of his life from the past showed up in an elevator and they got stuck together.

This story is the perfect second-chance romance for the man who thought his life was as it should be. But when Cleo says love will find you, it does when love's time is right. You have to love the Winslow family, and the way they have pulled Maria and Izzy into their family is the way it should be, family first.

This story is filled with love that lasted many years. a fun-loving family, banter, and an all-around great story. If you haven't read this series, you need to start it now and I highly recommend starting from the beginning. It is worth it.

M/F Second-Chance Romance

This is Remington (Remy)'s book. I have been waiting for his story since the beginning. I love that he has continued the relationship with Cleo. She is a large part of his life, and while he isn't forthcoming with that relationship, it is one that he treasures.

Maria is a strong woman who knows what she wants in life. She is working hard and trying her best to keep her head above water. After an intense, devastating loss, Maria knows more than most how precious life can be. When she finds herself trapped in an elevator, it turns out that it might have been the best thing to happen to her.

As Remy and Maria find their friendship renewed, these two have to figure out if their single lives are better or worse than a life being shared with someone. Maria, with her daughter Izzy, capture the hearts of everyone who meets them.

I loved watching Remy's life start to evolve and include more into his life. Izzy and Maria are welcomed back with open arms. As Remy sees his life changing and Maria sees that she could have what she used to dream about, all of the Winslows will pull together, with some help from Cleo.

You won't be disappointed in this book. It's sweet, loving, and so much fun to watch everyone around these two rally together.

The Secret by Max Monroe Blog Tour

Available Now. The Secret by Max Monroe. Blog Tour.

Dear Fellow Bookworms,

I need your help.

I, Rachel Rose, am in quite the pickle with a hot-as-sin English Lit professor by the name of Ty Winslow, and I don’t know how to get out of it.

Let me break it down for you:

Girl meets Guy.

Girl gives Guy her underwear on a dare but nothing else identifying (like her name or number) because she plans to never see Guy again.

But Girl does see Guy again, in a very professional setting, where she is to be the Teaching Assistant to his Professor for an entire semester.

Girl would like to ignore all events of the past, but Guy is a whole list of tempting things that are hard to resist. (See below:)

#1: Insanely attractive.
#2: The most fun a girl could ever have.
#3: Successful and intelligent.
#4: He can quote Walt Whitman at the drop of a hat—which I’m sure you know is a dangerous thing for a literature-lover.
#5: Smooth with a capital S. He could charm the panties off a woman WITHOUT the help of a dare.

And now, Mr. Hot Professor, the man I’m determined to resist, is challenging me to a competition—a playful, secret game, so to speak—where the winner takes all.

My plan? Play the game long enough to win—long enough to walk away with the upper hand—without doing something stupid like falling in love.

It’s possible... right?

If you have any advice, please reach out to me soon—before it’s too late.

XOXO,
Rachel

TY

I glance pointedly down at the ring—a mood ring—on her right ring finger, and she lets go of my hand like it’s morphed into a scorching hot plate.

Rachel Rose is her. The woman from Orchid.

“What’s your mood tonight?” I asked her.

And she answered with a seductive, “A little wild. A little reckless.”

The conversation I had with her that night replays in my mind, and I know there’s no way in hell I’d get those big green eyes and entrancing lips of hers confused with someone else.

And fuck me, this woman, she’s even more of a goddess than my brain allowed me to remember.

Her skirt, coat, and blouse are classic and professional, but even they can’t hide the mind-blowing curves that lie beneath the material. Her breasts are full, her hips and thighs perfectly rounded, and her legs shapely in a way that reminds me of paintings from the Renaissance.

She is the exact type of curvy that turns me into a fool.

And her face is undeniably beautiful too. More so than the dim lights of Orchid allowed me to see.

“Rachel,” I repeat her name, letting it fall slowly off my tongue. “It’s always good to be able to put a name to a face.”

Her laugh is awkward, but that’s probably because she’s been lying through her pretty little lips ever since we made eye contact. “Well, it’s nice to meet you too, Professor Winslow.”

“Please, Rachel, just call me Ty.”

“O-okay,” she answers and swallows hard against a nervous titter in her throat. “So… uh… what would you like for me to accomplish today?”

How about you acknowledge that you gave me your panties? is the very first thought to come to mind. Is that something you do often? and Or was it just something you did for me? are the second and third.

Thankfully, my brain-to-mouth filter seems to be connected today because no matter what my dick has prepared in its PowerPoint presentation, this is Nate’s daughter.

I can’t go there.

“We’ll keep it laid-back today. I have a folder of information for you. My class schedules, some teaching plans for the semester, that kind of stuff,” I answer, even though everything inside me wants to press her more about that Friday night. I swear, this woman has some balls to just outright deny something we both know is true.

To be honest, in a weird way, I think I might admire her for it.

“Okay, cool,” she answers calmly, but I don’t miss the way her fingers fidget with her coat.

I walk back over to my desk and shuffle through the mess of papers and files to find the stack that’s for her. “I went ahead and compared our schedules. The only class of mine that you’ll be able to attend consistently is my afternoon English 101 class with the freshmen. Though, I’d love to see you fit in a few of my other courses throughout this semester, but not to the detriment of your master’s workload.”

I hand her the thick file, and she takes it with hesitant hands, her eyes acting like my face is the sun and avoiding direct contact for long periods of time is needed for survival.

“This is probably not everything, but it will give you a good start,” I instruct, and for some insane reason, I can’t swipe the smile off my face. There is just something about her and the way she is avoiding the reality of our initial introduction that, the more I think about it, is amusing as hell. “Log-ins for my online drive, my class schedule for the spring semester, some of my teaching plans for English 101, and a few other odds and ends I know will be of use.”

She stares down at the file in her hands. Which I’m guessing has more to do with avoidance than interest, seeing as it’s a plain manila folder. “Great. Thanks.”

“I also think it would be a good idea for us to get to know each other a little better,” I say and lean back against my desk, crossing my arms at my chest. I know I’m putting her on the spot, but I’m so fucking curious if she’s ever going to break from the façade of acting like Orchid never happened, it feels like I have to push. “So, tell me a little bit about yourself, Rachel.”

Her green eyes flicker up and hold, and I know immediately that something has changed. She’s formed a backbone or found her courage or is gearing up to tell me to go fuck myself. Whatever it is, it’s beautiful. “What do you want to know exactly?”

“Just a little about you. What are your greatest passions in literature? Your likes? Dislikes?” And how often do you go to nightclubs and give men your underwear?

She shrugs. Toys with the file in her hands. “Well, I got my bachelor’s at Stanford. Took a few years off to… I don’t know… not focus on my career.” Her laugh is self-deprecating. “And literature, devouring books, writing… I love all of it. Though I’m not certain what I want to do with my master’s, I know it will lead me to where I should be.”

“And what do you do for fun outside of NYU’s campus?”

You bastard. You just can’t help yourself, can you?

“For fun? Off campus?” she questions. “I don’t know. I mean, I just got back to New York, so I’d say that answer is pending.” The hint of a fire blazes behind her eyes, and what leaves her gorgeous mouth doesn’t disappoint. “And personally, I don’t think what I do for fun off campus should be any of your concern.”

I love it. She knows when to put her foot down. Strong, curvaceous, beautiful women are my fucking weakness.

This is the third book in the Winslow Brothers series and it is Ty's story.

Rachel and Ty have this insane chemistry that sizzles off the pages and only gets hotter as time goes by. Ty is the sexy English Lit professor and Rachel is his T.A.. They have to stay away from each other in any way other than dealing with schoolwork. Neither knew how hard this was going to be. Ty proposes a challenge that is sexy and secret; boy oh boy what fun they have. But neither of them sees love coming.

I have loved this series from the beginning, and I think Ty's story is my favorite, but we still have Remy's story left and I can't wait for it.

I loved Ty and Rachel's story because it was full of fun, sexiness, heat, family fun, sexy bothers, and love. Authors Max Monroe have found gold with the Winslow brothers, and I have loved each book so far, looking forward to Remy's books and hope there is one for Winnie, their sister. Can you imagine being a sister with four brothers?

Avid Reader – ☆☆☆☆
M/F Romance

This is Ty's story. If you have not read the previous books, I suggest that you do. While this can be read as a standalone, it will make more sense if you read the previous books first.

Rachel is back in New York. While she might be there with some apprehension, she knows that she missed her sister and knows that she can finish her degree there. What she doesn't like is that she is still under the ever watchful and critical eye of her father. Her dad has some very serious ideas of how his daughter should behave and what she should do with her career.

Ty is still worried about what he heard all those years ago. And while it seems to have worked out for some of his brothers, he likes his life. He is not known for having a girl for very long, just many of them for one or two nights. He loves his family and loves his life. His mentor, the man who helped him set his life back on track. needs a favor and Ty is all too willing to help out.

After a fun night out where Rachel was egged on by her sister, she knows that she fulfilled the card. Ty can't keep the woman out of his head who he met at his brother's club. She is someone he will never forget.

These two have to figure out how to dance around each other and figure out how to incorporate fun into their lives too. Rachel is strong when it comes to her sexuality, and I loved that about her. But she's kind of a wimp when it comes to her family. I wished that we had gotten to see more of her and her dad – more of a resolution in their relationship. It seemed a little like a band-aid. Then you have Ty and his family. I love his family. They are funny and get where Rachel is coming from. and they know Ty so well. He's the guy everyone knows has fun.

I really enjoyed watching these two figure out their path. And while it was somewhat predictable, the in between was hot and spicy and sweet and sensual. You won't be disappointed, and I can't wait for the next one! Cleo is coming back and I can't wait to see what is in store.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the third book in the series and really, I cannot think of any reason why you would not want to read from book one. These books come with a warning about not reading in public, work, etc... and you would be wise to take note – I have never managed to read one without laughing out loud!

As you will know if you are up to date with the Winslows, Remi's wedding failure was predicted by a fortune teller. This book starts with Ty, the hot professor brother hunting her down, as he is still haunted by the unerring accuracy that her predictions took for the others. This act is somewhat out of character for him, but does a great job of setting the scene, and for a moment, there is a twist which makes the reader question the direction the book is going to take... I love these little cheeky plot turns that we are offered!

I also love that we spend time with the Winslow brothers and their significant others, and not just that their mom is contemplating dating, but how she is planning on going about it... cue more laughter! We are soon reminded of Ty's player ways and how he brings a different woman to family dinners each time. So his complete turnabout after being handed a pair of panties in a nightclub by a woman who immediately afterwards leaves, without giving her name, is really shocking him.

That she turns out not only to be his T.A. this semester, but also the daughter of his mentor and fellow professor... a mixture of karma and serendipity.

So much fun in this book, as well as some cute moments, some sad ones, and some very sexy ones. As someone who taught in a uni myself, I have been imagining the scenes, and really chuckling at how on earth they got away with some of those adventures!

Another fabulous, fun, and smile inducing book from this talented duo – really, just what anyone needs to cheer up their day – thank you, Max Monroe!

“I need a ride,” I said to a sexy stranger on a Harley.

Three hours later? A six-foot-tall Marilyn Monroe was officiating our Vegas wedding at the Happy Chapel.

But it’s not love—it’s business—a marriage pact made out of desperation so my career doesn’t go up in flames.

Sure, Flynn Winslow is a hot, broody, mysterious man that women all over the globe would sell their souls to land for real, but I have my eyes on the prize and our marriage arrangement will end in three months with no strings attached.

Right?

Or will it all go out the window when I have to move in with Mr. Mysterious and our fake marriage starts to feel remarkably real?

I wish it were as easy as telling myself, Do not fall in love with your fake husband, Daisy, but apparently, when feelings get involved, not everything that happens in Vegas knows how to stay in Vegas.

Flynn

“Oh my gosh! I’m sorry!” A female voice grabs my attention, and I glance toward the entrance doors of the Wynn to find a blur of wild curls running like a banshee. She bumps into several people trying to get outside, and more apologies blurt from her lips as she almost takes out an older gentleman wearing a cowboy hat.

The man is none too pleased, but his annoyance doesn’t stop her. Out onto the pavement of the driveway, she stumbles a bit on her sky-high heels as she continues her fast-track path to who knows where.

She comes to a halting stop in the center of the entrance driveway, in the middle of cars and only a few feet from my bike, and looks around maniacally with her big green eyes.

What is she doing?

Her breaths come out in harsh pants, and she chaotically brushes pieces of her wild mane of curls out of her face.

“You okay?” I find myself asking, and she snaps her eyes toward mine.

She stares at me like I just asked her to solve an advanced calculus problem, and I lift the visor up on my helmet to repeat my question. “You okay?”

She shakes her head and digs her teeth into the meat of her full, red-painted lips. But just as she opens her mouth to respond, a man in a well-fitted suit comes bursting out of the entrance doors, yelling, “Daisy!”

The beautiful but possibly insane woman shuts her eyes on a heavy sigh, and by the sag in her shoulders and frown on her lips, I have a feeling she’s the Daisy he’s calling for.

“Daisy! Honey! Wait up!”

“Fuck,” she mutters, and it doesn’t take a genius to figure out Crazy Daisy wants nothing to do with this guy.

Maybe he’s the reason for her abrupt departure and reckless sprint out of the casino?

This guy could be her boyfriend. Fiancé. Husband. I don’t fucking know what. But whoever he is, she wants distance. That much is apparent.

And even though I’m supposed to meet my brothers at one of the Wynn’s bars in about ten minutes, the urge to help her is too strong to ignore.

It’s a rare thing for a guy like me, to be honest. I don’t meddle in other people’s shit, but the panicked look on her face makes me want to give her the escape she needs.

But before I know it, before I can even offer the help, she takes it for herself.

One leg over the seat of my bike and her arms around my waist, she leans into my back harshly and declares her intentions without pause. “I need a ride.”

Four Winslow brothers in Vegas for Jude's bachelor party weekend, what could go wrong?
This is the second book in the Winslow Brothers series and is Flynn and Daisy's story. It is filled with emotional scenes, it will have you laughing one minute and crying the next.

Flynn is the more sensible one of the four brothers, he knows he is not getting married, he is not made for it. When he sees Daisy at the slot machine, all that changes. Well, that is at least for a short time. Daisy needs to be rescued and Flynn is more than happy to help.

Daisy is the fun and sometimes crazy heroine, with her internal monologues, hands waving in the air, and walking in circles to talk herself off the ledge, not literally. When she meets Flynn, he is the calm she needs, they balance each other out.

This story is fun, flirty, laugh-out-loud great, and in the end, it's perfect. I cannot wait for the next brother's story.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the second book in the series, and you are in for a treat! I loved Jude and Sophie's story, but I may have liked Flynn and Daisy's even more. The set-up is just so perfect, and the romance so absolutely engaging, funny, and super sexy – especially for two people together on a pact.

I would recommend that you do as recommended by the authors and read this in a quiet and private space – they are certainly right that it is funny, but more than that, it is so engaging that once you start you will not want to be interrupted. I read it cover to cover today!

We get plenty of the whole Winslow clan, with the single brothers being just as zany as ever – Ty really is hilarious. Flynn – the silent one – finally has good reason to speak, and thanks to Daisy, we learn quite a lot more about him. I loved his honesty, which members of his family just didn't believe. And his niece once again provides a lot of humour... be warned. I cannot say more, as I think you need to enjoy it directly.

Another fabulous story and a great addition to the series – that fortune-teller has a pretty good strike rate so far!

Avid Reader – ☆☆☆☆
M/F Romance

Flynn is the quiet one of the rowdy group of brothers. He is serious all of the time and takes the time to make sure that his brothers don't make too big of oafs of themselves. When he sees a beautiful woman playing the slots, she sticks with him.

Daisy is working and living her best life until a mix up causes her to make the most spur of the moment decision of her life! Daisy is hilarious with her runaway mouth, crazy internal monologue, and sweet demeanor.

Flynn and Daisy have off-the-charts chemistry and they burn up the sheets. But they also have the ability to truly see each other. Not just their outer personality, but who they are underneath that. It was fun to watch Flynn discover a different side of himself and to get to see Daisy open his eyes to what he was missing.

Daisy and Flynn complement each other so well. Flynn is the calm to Daisy's storm and in return, Daisy lights up Flynn's life in a way he never knew he was missing. Sure, he's got a crazy family, but Daisy is a breath of fresh air for him.

I can't wait to see who comes next in this crazy family. You'll fall in love with them, and I highly suggest you read the books in order!

I just wish the Fortune Cookie People had considered how hard the whole “knowing when to quit” would be to carry out when a woman like me is gambling with her feelings.

Heart-palpitating, vageen-tingling, butterflies-in-my-belly feelings for a noncommittal, hot-as-sin player by the name of Jude Winslow.

After a crazy night where we were both pretending to be someone else, I’ve found myself immersed in the fun of the fling.
The thrill.
The irresistible charm.
The pleasure of being with a man like him.

Problem is, I’m positive he’s the exact opposite of husband material, and that is a serious issue for someone who is fixated on finding her happily ever after.

I know the rules and I know the stakes, oh wise Fortune Cookie.

Now I’d just like to know how close to self-destruction I have to get before I find the will to quit Jude Winslow.

Goodness knows, when your heart is on the line, you can’t ante up your bet with an IOU.

Author Note: The Bet is a full-length standalone romantic comedy and the first standalone book in the Winslow Brothers Collection. This book is chock-full of hilarious rom-com moments, but also, it’s spicy. We’re talking alllllll the sexy.

Tell me… is it ever possible to recover from the shame of having orgasmed in public—discreetly, I think—all because of the stupid exotic dancer I hired for my sister?

Because, if not, I won’t bother sharing this with my therapist when we have our next session.

“Oh my God!” Belle yells from the stall, her feet teetering on my heels as she tries to squat and hover over the toilet. I swear, if she pees on my one and only pair of Jimmy Choos, I will hex her so hard. “Did you freaking see that guy? He bent you over backward and planted a baby in your womb through your dress, I swear to Jesus.”

“Uh, yeah. I saw,” I comment on the absurdly obvious. But truthfully, I didn’t just see anything. I felt his heat and his heart thrumming in his chest and smelled the undeniably intoxicating subtlety of his cologne. I felt the stretch in my muscles as he manipulated my body left and right and sideways and upside down, all while somehow managing to make the ridiculousness of a male stripper seem sexy.

The only time I could truly say I saw, I suppose, was during the out-of-body experience I had while he straddled my body in the sixty-nine position and straight up sent me into purgatory. There I was, just hovering by the ceiling of the room like Mary fucking Poppins and the kids when they go to have tea with the loopy guy, wondering if that was really my face under his superior crotch or if it was all just a mirage.

And then I had to go and fucking orgasm, like a teenage boy in the middle of a wet dream.

I shake my head to clear it again, thanking my lucky stars that, in this situation, I was at least afforded the luxury of being a woman. No boner. No jizz-filled underwear. Just a hard twist of arousal and a pair of damp panties.

“I swear he tossed you around like a rag doll!”

“Yes, Sophie,” I say, emphasizing my name instead of hers just in case any other drunken members of our group found their way in here and into another stall while I was busy with my emotional breakdown. “I’m well aware of everything Jude, the Magic Dancer was, thank you very much.”

She flushes the toilet and swings the stall door back toward herself, stumbling out into the open area and laughing hysterically at my revamp of Puff, the Magic Dragon, one of our favorite songs as kids before cynics ruined it.

I’m glad she’s having a good time, but holy hell. I’m still shaking. And once I’m certain none of the gals from our group are in the bathroom with us, I give her the cold, hard reality.

“You owe me so freaking much, it’s ridiculous.” Pretending to be the bride at my sister’s bachelorette party when I’m not even dating anyone would surely be something Dr. Winters would see as a “setback.”

“I know I owe you, I really do, but I would have died, okay? You know I would have died. And that would really complicate your use of my Costco membership, wouldn’t it?”

I snort. “Fine. But can we switch back now? Don’t you want to enjoy the rest of the evening as the bride-to-be?”

Belle shakes her head almost violently and stands at the sink to wash her hands. She waves them obnoxiously in front of the automatic sensor several times but still never manages to turn the faucet on. I lean forward and wave my hand in front of hers, bringing it to life.

For some reason, she always struggles with that.

“No way. I’ve had a great time the whole night tonight, but I didn’t realize how much better it is when no one is paying attention to me! Maid of honor is where it’s at, and I can’t go back now that I know how good it is here.”

“Are you serious?” I snap.

“Please,” she begs, pretending to pout. “I know it’s not ideal for you, but pretty, pretty please with a cherry on top, do this for me? I’ll bake you however many cookies and cupcakes and cakes you want for the next six months.”

My sister is the baked goods goddess, and she knows I can’t resist that kind of offer.

“Fine,” I grind out. “But if I were you, I’d invest in stock for flour and butter and sugar and shit because I’m going to run your ass like a factory worker.”

“Whatever you want. John’s really good with investments, so I’ll make him figure it out.”

I laugh at her drunken seriousness—it’s too hard not to—and finally pull her into a hug so I can whisper directly into her ear. “I love you, Bells. But I also fucking hate you.”

She nods. “It’s the Sage sister way.”

“Well, two out of three,” I correct, knowing that Katelynn is the least drama-associated sister of the three of us. At five years our senior, she was always more of a “Disciplinary Board” than a defendant when it came to Sage sister arguments.

“That’s true,” Belle agrees. “I’m seriously surprised at how drunk Kate’s gotten tonight. It’s a real mom’s-night-out kind of vibe.”

I roll my eyes. “Like you should talk. You’re drunker than she is.”

“Yeah, but it’s my bachelorette,” she asserts.

Immediately, I shake my head with a fake smile. “Uh-uh. Not anymore, it’s not. Thanks to you, the glory of tonight seems to be mine.”

After reading Gotta Have Fate, I could not wait to read this one. Jude Winslow is one of the Winslow brothers and is up first in this series. He is a club promoter and playboy and doesn't believe in commitment. Sophie is an event-wedding planner and when she plans her twin sister's bachelorette party, she never thought she would be put in such a position. But she would do almost anything for her sister.

This story is filled with laughter, sexy fun, sizzles, sparks flying, and is absolutely perfect. Jude and Sophie are the perfect pair and made for each other, they are opposites that make it work. I was glued to my Kindle from the very first page and didn't want the story to end.

I haven't read these authors before these two books and I can't wait for more, especially Flynn, his book is next.

Avid Reader – ☆☆☆☆
M/F Romance

Sophie is a delight to read about. While I think she was rather naïve at times, I loved her idea of what love should be. As an event planner, she’s seen her share of weddings. She knows what she’s looking for, but when it’s pointed out to her that she may not be really looking to find true love, Sophie has to take a step back and truly think about how she’s gone about looking for Mr. Right.

Jude loves his family. They are his absolute priority. But when it comes to love, Jude knows that only leads to heartbreak. He’s seen it with his brother, Remy, his mom and knows that in order to protect himself from that type of hurt, casual is the way to go.

As the years go by, both Jude and Sophie find themselves looking for something but aren’t quite able to articulate what that might be.

Sophie’s encounter with Jude changes everything. She’s given the task to make different dating choices in her life and when she finds herself left on a date because of Jude’s rudeness, she takes a leap of faith in herself.

I loved watching Jude learn how love can change his life. Sophie knew all along that she wanted someone she could love, but didn’t quite know what that guy would look like. These two set out on a journey that changes what they think they know about love.

Watching the Winslow brothers figure their own story out is entertaining and I can’t wait to see the next brother’s story. I think you would be missing out if you didn’t read the novella that’s available as a precursor to this.

I am a big Max Munroe fan, and love that familiar characters appear in semi-stand-alone stories. It is like meeting an old chum at a party and getting to see how life has treated them, and then watching the next romance unfold with their revised life view helping it along the way.

In this story we have a couple who meet under unusual circumstances, and both hold opposing life views. Sophie has sought out therapy to help her stop seeing every relationship as needing to lead to marriage, and thus is being disappointed repeatedly. Her therapist is keen that she just have fun. Jude is the ultimate good time guy who doesn't spend the night and rarely sees the same woman once they mention any type of commitment, preplanned activity, or desire to call it more than sex.

As they start to acknowledge the feelings they have for each other, they also have some really good, therapist-recommended, sexy fun. Both of them have good, happy sibling relationships, and they benefit from plenty of advice when they finally admit what has happened.

I didn't find this as hilarious as previous Max Monroe books, but I loved the vulnerability, the freeing of Sophie's pleasure, thanks to Jude's dedication to the cause, and the imperfectly perfect arrival at a happily ever after.

Angie – ☆☆☆☆
Jude and Sophie are the perfect opposites-attract couple. This story moved smoothly and held my attention. There were lots of laugh out loud moments. The chemistry was sizzling. Good start to a series.

ATTENTION: If you have been a victim of false advertising, you may be entitled to compensation. If you were ever hired to take care of a fourteen-year-old boy’s knee injury on a luxury ranch in the Middle of Nowhere, Utah, but that fourteen-year-old boy ended up being a tall, rough-and-tumble, muscular, one-hundred-percent all-man cowboy by the name of Rhett Jameson, you may have been put at risk for falling in love. Please seek counsel immediately.

Dear Counselor,

It was supposed to be simple favor for my very important boss, Frank Kaminsky of the Salt Lake Slammers professional basketball team—go to his good friend Tex Jameson’s luxury ranch and provide personal medical care for his recently injured teenage son.

I thought it’d be a working vacation of sorts—a chance for my city-girl self to experience something I would never otherwise do—but everything is upside down, and absolutely nothing is as I thought it would be.

For one, this patient is not a teenage boy.
He’s a real-life, blue-eyed, tough-as-nails, thirtysomething cowboy who is so darn strong he looks like he could lift a car just for the heck of it.

He’s also stubborn, rude, and we don’t get along… at all.

Add in the heart-melting vision of him as a single father to the cutest little girl on the planet, and I’ve found myself in a whole different dimension of trouble.

Lust. Feelings. A whole lot of enemies-to-lovers-style complication.

Please help me. My name is Dr. Leah Levee, I am a victim of false advertising, and if I’m not careful, this Grumpy Cowboy might just be the death of me.

Author Note: This sexy and hilarious novel is a complete standalone romantic comedy.

Leah

Gently, I rap my knuckles against the wood, and moments later, an adorable little blond-haired girl comes running down the hall and right toward me.

She pushes the screen door open with one of her cowgirl boots and steps out until she can keep it open with just her hip. With pigtails and dimples and big blue eyes, she just might be the cutest kid I’ve ever see in my life.

Is this Rhett Jameson’s little sister?

“Who are you?” she asks, ignoring any sort of greeting and getting straight to the point.

I grin. “My name is Leah. What’s your name?”

“Joey,” she answers, her small hands moving with her words. “Well, Josephine, but everyone calls me Joey.”

“That’s a very pretty name.”

“And you’re a very pretty lady,” she says, and her eyes move up and down my body, taking in my hair and my face and my dress and my shoes. “Maybe the prettiest lady I’ve ever seen. Are you in movies?”

“No, I’m not in movies,” I answer on a soft laugh. “But you know what’s funny?”

“What?”

“You’re the prettiest girl I’ve ever seen in my whole life.”

She giggles, and then her eyes get big. “Wait… oh my goodness! Are you here to teach me how to braid my hair?” Her button nose crinkles up in the most adorable way. “My granny told me she’d teach me how to do it, but I think she can’t remember, and is that why you’re here? Because you know how to do it?” she asks, and her short legs bounce up and down ever so slightly.

“Uh…” I pause, completely entranced by this sweet little human, but also utterly confused. “Actually, sweetie, I’m not here to teach you how to braid your hair. I’m here—”

“Aw, shucks.” She swishes one fist from her right hip to her left hip, and her tiny mouth points down at the corners.

Immediately, I feel like the worst human being alive, and it takes everything inside me not to step inside the house and ask her to get me a hairbrush.

But I rein in the emotion and offer up something I hope will soften her disappointment.

“How about this? Since I’m going to be here for the summer, I’ll make sure someday very soon, I teach you how to braid your hair.”

“Yeah?” Her big blue eyes light up like the sun. “Ya promise?”

“I promise.”

Truthfully, I’m just assuming this young girl lives here on this ranch, but I have no idea.

I don’t know if she’s Tex’s daughter or someone else’s daughter. I don’t really know much of anything. Haven’t known much of anything since I told Frank Kaminsky I’d take this job.

But so far, feeling out of the loop appears to be par for the course.

The girl steps out of the house on her tiny cowgirl boots and wraps her arms around my waist. “I’m so excited, Leah!”

I’m shocked at first by her instant affection, but it doesn’t take long before I’m putty in her teeny hands.

“Me too, Joey.” A tickled laugh emerges from my lungs, and I pat her head tenderly.

Eventually, she steps back and puts one hand to her hip. “So, if you’s supposed to be here all summer but it’s not just for my hair, why are you here?”

“I was just about to ask the same thing, Joey.” A deep, raspy voice fills my ears, and that’s when I realize someone else has joined our conversation at the door.

My eyes move up, up, up past Joey and land on a pair of perfectly worn-in jeans, over a shirtless and firm set of abs and an even firmer chest, and they don’t stop until they meet aqua-blue eyes that are pointed directly at me.

Holy shit.

This rugged, fine-as-hell specimen standing right behind Joey isn’t just any man; he’s the manliest man I’ve ever laid eyes on. His body is stretched tight with the kinds of firm muscles that do not come from protein shakes and a gym membership to LA Fitness. No. These are real muscles, made from hard, sweaty work on a big-ass ranch like this.

If you typed the words “hot cowboy” into Google, I’m pretty sure this guy would be the number one search result.

And he looks so damn strong, so physically capable of anything, I honestly think he could lift a car just for the fun of it.

With brownish-red hair that looks almost gold in the sunlight, a sharp jaw that’s peppered with some scruff, and full lips that are set in a firm line, I can’t help but wonder who is this guy?

Rhett Jameson’s… older brother? His uncle?

Some kind of familial male figure?

He clears his throat, and that’s when I realize just how long I’ve been standing here staring at this slightly irritated, but also handsome-looking, cowboy like a moron.

Uh… hello? Earth to Leah? Now would be a really great time to remember how to speak…

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is a very enjoyable read – I felt it started a little slowly, but once the scene is set, we are off on a lovely, cheeky, and sexy romance. It is part of the Single Dad Collection, and there are fun links, but no need to have read the earlier books.

Leah is seconded from her new job as a basketball physician to help the son of a friend of the team's boss. When she is flown into the huge, remote ranch, she finds the son is a grown man with a daughter of his own, and someone who is not interested in her help. And thus starts a challenge for her to treat his damaged knee and learn about his role in running the ranch. Some of the tasks he suggests she better do in his place are very funny and classic Max Monroe writing – their warning to not read in public should be heeded!

Rhett is a grown man, working hard, and still having to prove himself to his loving, but controlling father. His accident, which happened on a rare evening kicking loose, just gives his dad more opportunity to interfere. Knowing that, it makes a little more sense that he is so resistant to Leah's arrival. It takes his lovely little girl, Joey, to remind him that she needs him whole and healed. I loved Leah's immediate friendship with Joey. It was sweet and beautifully written.

I will not reveal more, as you should read and enjoy it yourself – but it is a very satisfying read with an extended ending which I seriously recommend that you obtain at the end. Very satisfying!
