Grumpy Cowboy by Max Monroe Blog Tour

Available Now. Grumpy Cowboy by Max Monroe. Blog Tour May 24th - 26th.

ATTENTION: If you have been a victim of false advertising, you may be entitled to compensation. If you were ever hired to take care of a fourteen-year-old boy’s knee injury on a luxury ranch in the Middle of Nowhere, Utah, but that fourteen-year-old boy ended up being a tall, rough-and-tumble, muscular, one-hundred-percent all-man cowboy by the name of Rhett Jameson, you may have been put at risk for falling in love. Please seek counsel immediately.

Dear Counselor,

It was supposed to be simple favor for my very important boss, Frank Kaminsky of the Salt Lake Slammers professional basketball team—go to his good friend Tex Jameson’s luxury ranch and provide personal medical care for his recently injured teenage son.

I thought it’d be a working vacation of sorts—a chance for my city-girl self to experience something I would never otherwise do—but everything is upside down, and absolutely nothing is as I thought it would be.

For one, this patient is not a teenage boy.
He’s a real-life, blue-eyed, tough-as-nails, thirtysomething cowboy who is so darn strong he looks like he could lift a car just for the heck of it.

He’s also stubborn, rude, and we don’t get along… at all.

Add in the heart-melting vision of him as a single father to the cutest little girl on the planet, and I’ve found myself in a whole different dimension of trouble.

Lust. Feelings. A whole lot of enemies-to-lovers-style complication.

Please help me. My name is Dr. Leah Levee, I am a victim of false advertising, and if I’m not careful, this Grumpy Cowboy might just be the death of me.

Author Note: This sexy and hilarious novel is a complete standalone romantic comedy.

Leah

Gently, I rap my knuckles against the wood, and moments later, an adorable little blond-haired girl comes running down the hall and right toward me.

She pushes the screen door open with one of her cowgirl boots and steps out until she can keep it open with just her hip. With pigtails and dimples and big blue eyes, she just might be the cutest kid I’ve ever see in my life.

Is this Rhett Jameson’s little sister?

“Who are you?” she asks, ignoring any sort of greeting and getting straight to the point.

I grin. “My name is Leah. What’s your name?”

“Joey,” she answers, her small hands moving with her words. “Well, Josephine, but everyone calls me Joey.”

“That’s a very pretty name.”

“And you’re a very pretty lady,” she says, and her eyes move up and down my body, taking in my hair and my face and my dress and my shoes. “Maybe the prettiest lady I’ve ever seen. Are you in movies?”

“No, I’m not in movies,” I answer on a soft laugh. “But you know what’s funny?”

“What?”

“You’re the prettiest girl I’ve ever seen in my whole life.”

She giggles, and then her eyes get big. “Wait… oh my goodness! Are you here to teach me how to braid my hair?” Her button nose crinkles up in the most adorable way. “My granny told me she’d teach me how to do it, but I think she can’t remember, and is that why you’re here? Because you know how to do it?” she asks, and her short legs bounce up and down ever so slightly.

“Uh…” I pause, completely entranced by this sweet little human, but also utterly confused. “Actually, sweetie, I’m not here to teach you how to braid your hair. I’m here—”

“Aw, shucks.” She swishes one fist from her right hip to her left hip, and her tiny mouth points down at the corners.

Immediately, I feel like the worst human being alive, and it takes everything inside me not to step inside the house and ask her to get me a hairbrush.

But I rein in the emotion and offer up something I hope will soften her disappointment.

“How about this? Since I’m going to be here for the summer, I’ll make sure someday very soon, I teach you how to braid your hair.”

“Yeah?” Her big blue eyes light up like the sun. “Ya promise?”

“I promise.”

Truthfully, I’m just assuming this young girl lives here on this ranch, but I have no idea.

I don’t know if she’s Tex’s daughter or someone else’s daughter. I don’t really know much of anything. Haven’t known much of anything since I told Frank Kaminsky I’d take this job.

But so far, feeling out of the loop appears to be par for the course.

The girl steps out of the house on her tiny cowgirl boots and wraps her arms around my waist. “I’m so excited, Leah!”

I’m shocked at first by her instant affection, but it doesn’t take long before I’m putty in her teeny hands.

“Me too, Joey.” A tickled laugh emerges from my lungs, and I pat her head tenderly.

Eventually, she steps back and puts one hand to her hip. “So, if you’s supposed to be here all summer but it’s not just for my hair, why are you here?”

“I was just about to ask the same thing, Joey.” A deep, raspy voice fills my ears, and that’s when I realize someone else has joined our conversation at the door.

My eyes move up, up, up past Joey and land on a pair of perfectly worn-in jeans, over a shirtless and firm set of abs and an even firmer chest, and they don’t stop until they meet aqua-blue eyes that are pointed directly at me.

Holy shit.

This rugged, fine-as-hell specimen standing right behind Joey isn’t just any man; he’s the manliest man I’ve ever laid eyes on. His body is stretched tight with the kinds of firm muscles that do not come from protein shakes and a gym membership to LA Fitness. No. These are real muscles, made from hard, sweaty work on a big-ass ranch like this.

If you typed the words “hot cowboy” into Google, I’m pretty sure this guy would be the number one search result.

And he looks so damn strong, so physically capable of anything, I honestly think he could lift a car just for the fun of it.

With brownish-red hair that looks almost gold in the sunlight, a sharp jaw that’s peppered with some scruff, and full lips that are set in a firm line, I can’t help but wonder who is this guy?

Rhett Jameson’s… older brother? His uncle?

Some kind of familial male figure?

He clears his throat, and that’s when I realize just how long I’ve been standing here staring at this slightly irritated, but also handsome-looking, cowboy like a moron.

Uh… hello? Earth to Leah? Now would be a really great time to remember how to speak…

Ruthie☆☆☆☆
This is a very enjoyable read – I felt it started a little slowly, but once the scene is set, we are off on a lovely, cheeky, and sexy romance. It is part of the Single Dad Collection, and there are fun links, but no need to have read the earlier books.

Leah is seconded from her new job as a basketball physician to help the son of a friend of the team's boss. When she is flown into the huge, remote ranch, she finds the son is a grown man with a daughter of his own, and someone who is not interested in her help. And thus starts a challenge for her to treat his damaged knee and learn about his role in running the ranch. Some of the tasks he suggests she better do in his place are very funny and classic Max Monroe writing – their warning to not read in public should be heeded!

Rhett is a grown man, working hard, and still having to prove himself to his loving, but controlling father. His accident, which happened on a rare evening kicking loose, just gives his dad more opportunity to interfere. Knowing that, it makes a little more sense that he is so resistant to Leah's arrival. It takes his lovely little girl, Joey, to remind him that she needs him whole and healed. I loved Leah's immediate friendship with Joey. It was sweet and beautifully written.

I will not reveal more, as you should read and enjoy it yourself – but it is a very satisfying read with an extended ending which I seriously recommend that you obtain at the end. Very satisfying!

Hot Stuff by Max Monroe Blog Tour

Hot Stuff by Max Monroe Blog Tour. Available Now.

Have you ever seen a fireman who’s so insanely sexy you’d actually consider DIY-ing a little at-home arson just so he’d show up at your front door?

Dramatic, I know, but hear me out.

Chiseled hot body, bright blue eyes, and the sexiest smile I’ve ever seen—the first time I saw Garrett Alexander in my exam room, it took everything inside me not to do something crazy like mount him during his yearly physical.

Not only is he a total babe, but he’s charming, hilarious, and the kind of single dad that would make your ovaries explode—the total freaking package.

I know you’re probably wondering, What in the heck are you waiting for, girl? Go get yourself a fireman!

But, see, there’s one teeny-tiny (read: huge) problem—if we got together, we’d have to keep our relationship a secret.

I know. Who even am I? Some heroine in a freaking forbidden romance novel?

Let me guess, now you’re probably thinking... Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Don’t do it, girl. Don’t fall for the sexy, off-limits man. It’s not worth it.

Well, too late. I already went and did it.

And I have a feeling this fire of ours is going to go up in a big, mushroom-cloud-worthy, ball of figurative smoke.

Suddenly, the door to Garrett’s room cracks open, and he peeks his head out, damn near startling me into another dimension.

Noticing my hysterical jump and defensive pose, he quiets his voice to a whisper. “Sorry to, um, startle you. I just… I’m ready.”

“Of course. Yeah.” I nod feverishly, follow him into the room, and take a few discreet, calming breaths to slow down the rate at which my heart is sprinting inside my chest. Honestly, for a woman who did gymnastics in her childhood, you’d think my cardiovascular system would be able to tolerate adrenaline a little better than this. A minor startle from a hot fireman and I’m panting like a dog in heat.

His gown covers everything, but it’s strangely anticipatory and it feels like I’m seeing more of him than I should. It’s weird and odd and completely irrational. So, I shut my eyes for a brief moment and force myself into doctor mode.

“Just take a seat on the exam table, please,” I instruct him with a gesture of my hand.

He does without question.

Then I start my assessment.

First, his vital signs. Blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and temperature.

All good. All within normal limits.

Next, with my stethoscope, I listen to his heart and lungs and abdomen.

Also, good. Steady, strong, clear.

“Am I going to live to see another day, Dr. Lauren?” he asks once I finish a quick reflex check, smirking up at me from his spot on the exam table, and I can’t not return his expression with a grin.

“Yes, it appears that you will,” I answer and make a few notes in his chart. “Now, if you don’t mind, please stand up in front of the exam table so I can… uh… check… your… uh… testicles.”

Okay, Lauren. Be cool. Be. Cool. It’s just another day at the office, and Garrett is just another set of anatomy...

I am a huge fan of this talented duet of authors – and when they warn you not to read in public or a place where laughing is an issue... listen to them! This really is a very funny, sexy read and will surely bring some brightness into your life. We first met Garrett in Jake's book Single Dad Seeks Juliet, which I have to tell you is also an excellent read – but no need to read it first as it will not really affect this one.

Firefighter Garrett co-parents his 12-year-old twins with his ex-wife. Due to his firefighting career, he doesn't see them as much as he would like, but he is absolutely there for them when he does. This and the fact that he is super hot, do a lot to make him the kind of guy that deserves his happily ever after. And really, nothing he does ever changes that view of him.

Daughter of Garrett's captain, Lauren first meets him at his annual physical in her role as a doctor. Then he is invited to Thanksgiving at her family home (let's not mention the men's toilets incident!). The connection is strong enough that they agree to go on a date. And out of the date comes Fat Frank. This is such a genius first date, but an even more genius purchase, as now Lauren has a confidante who will never spill the beans – and Max Monroe can tell us how she feels without her just thinking them.

I loved the humour, the interactions with the twins, and the patience which Garrett shows to the very nervous to get involved Lauren. She is hugely fun too, and the care with which she gets to know the twins and their mum is perfectly done.

Feel good story from beginning to end – and I do recommend that you take up the kind offer of an extended epilogue when you get to the end, as it is fabulous. Thank you again for another great read!

Single Dad Seeks Juliet by Max Monroe Blog Tour

Single Dad Seeks Juliet by Max Monroe Blog Tour. Real talk: I think I’m falling for him.

Dear Internet: Am I a horrible person for wanting to sabotage my work assignment—completely wreck a dating contest—because I hate the idea of love?

I know it sounds bad, but just hear me out, okay?

I (33F) work at a local paper, and two months ago, my editor assigned me a huge project—run the upcoming, highly anticipated Bachelor Anonymous contest.

In essence, I’m supposed to help a reader-nominated bachelor find his special someone, and while I should be excited to handle something of this magnitude solo, I can’t help but get queasy over how gross it feels.

Like, how cheesy could this thing get?

Not to mention, I’m the last person who should be involved in this—my dating and relationship history is a cluster. Generally, the person in charge of these things shouldn’t fantasize about lighting the whole three-ring dating circus on fire.

Anyway, men from all over Southern California, vying for the coveted bachelor role, submitted their personal ads to my paper. The readers voted, and Single Dad Seeks Juliet won by a landslide.

Enter Mr. Bachelor Anonymous (40M), the single dad Romeo seeking his Juliet.

Blah, blah, blah, right? Wrong.

You guys—and I cannot stress this enough—this guy is the ultimate man in a six-foot-three, chiseled-muscle, freaking Adonis package with aquamarine eyes that would haunt the dreams of an insomniac.

He’s a former Navy SEAL, successful business owner, motocross-riding, charming, supportive, funny-as-heck single dad, and the more time I spend with him, the more I want to bring this contest thing crumbling to the ground for an entirely different reason.

Real talk: I think I’m falling for him.

Me, the woman who despises love, might be falling for the completely off-limits Bachelor who I’m ironically assigned to help find love, while five other women think they’re the only contestants competing for his heart.

So, Internet. Am I scum? Or is all fair in love and war?

Ruthie☆☆☆☆
I am a very BIG Max Monroe fan, so I didn't even need to read the blurb to know that I would love this, and I was absolutely right – this is another fabulous, fun, sweet, and sexy read.

Holley is given the task of running her newspaper's Bachelor Anonymous competition. She is just out of a ten-year relationship, so this really isn't her thing – but she is nothing if not professional... haha, I can hardly believe I just wrote that, given how the story goes!! Just wait until you hear what happens when she first meets the bachelor, Jake. Ideally, read it where no one will notice you laughing.

Jake is a total dream and really, who could not fall for him? He is an amazing dad, and becomes a great friend to Holley, patiently waiting for her to understand how he feels about her! In the meantime, we have a wonderful ringside seat to their adventures meeting the possible matches Holley chose for him.

Total pleasure to read from cover to cover – and perfect escapism.

Mary Jo☆☆☆☆
Do you know what happens when you have a single dad with a meddling 17 year old daughter? You are about to find out in the latest release from Max Monroe.

Jake Brent finds himself in the middle of the newspaper's Bachelors Anonymous contest unwittingly when Chloe, his beautiful, sweet, and interfering daughter, submits a singles ad on his behalf. Enter Holley Fields, the reporter who has been reluctantly assigned to not only write about the bachelor and his dates, but choose the women she feels are best suited for him and semi-chaperone these dates. Her problem? She's off love. You know the feeling when your fiancé has not only been cheating on you for a while but then decides the side piece is better than you and leaves you? Not at the altar, but close enough to it that you decide that love is a fairy tale, blah, blah, blah.

So what's the problem? Jake – thankfully – agrees to go on these five dates and all Holley has to do is write about them and submit them before her editor gets her panties in a twist. No problem, right? Not so fast. Holley is a bit of klutz and Jake finds himself keeping his eyes on her rather than the women he's supposed to be paying attention to. Holley can't help her clumsiness, although she's not sure why she seems to clumsier than normal when Jake's around.

Please pick up the book and spend a wonderful afternoon reading about Jake and Holley. Holley's dad Phil (and his love of pickles), Jake's daughter Chloe, and his best friend Garrett are a wonderful team of supporting characters.
