The McGilley Trilogy by B.J. Wane

Rumors had circulated for years in the Lexington area about horse breeders Brett, Colin and Donovan McGilley, especially about the activities that went on above their popular night club, Casey’s. Kayla Holden was at Casey’s to celebrate her twenty-sixth birthday and in the mood to do something wild and crazy and what could be wilder and crazier than enticing sexy, older Brett McGilley into inviting her upstairs for an up close and personal look at the sexual activities she had heard so much about. Even though Brett was attracted to Kayla, his taste for spanking and exhibitionism was not for someone so young and inexperienced. But Brett had no idea just how determined Kayla was to not only explore his sexual kinks, but to do so only with him.

Colin McGilley had fallen for his best friend’s wife, Olivia Hammond, the moment he met her and when Doug asked him to help gift her with a ménage on her birthday, he couldn’t resist. The next three years, Colin carried the guilt of Doug’s sudden death that next day while Olivia struggled with grief. But Olivia’s need to find another Master to give her what she so badly craved sent her to Colin, this time asking more from him than friendship.

Donovan McGilley has struggled with his quick temper ever since his rescue from the Iraqi’s seven years ago, his worry over preferring rough sex keeping him from seeking a relationship outside of the few women who liked sex hard and usually with two men at their private club. But when veterinarian, Anna Kingston saves one of his beloved mares and he see signs of abuse on her body, he simply couldn’t turn her down when she approaches him to explore the sexual fantasies that had led to ending her marriage.

Meet the McGilley Brothers who like their sex kinky and on their terms, but try to do the right thing by turning down the women brave enough to take them on. Women who refuse to take no for an answer.

I found the McGilley brothers an intriguing lot. All three men, Alphas with a penchant for dominance, each has their own quirks. The McGilley Trilogy starts with Brett, he's divorced and once bitten twice shy. I really liked his character and his reluctance to start a commitment and watching him fall for fun, free-spirited Kayla was a fun ride. She's younger and inexperienced, but Brett certainly shows her the to speak (wink wink). Great chemistry with these two, and you get a good dose of hesitation with Kayla that I like when you have someone new to the kink scene.

Then we move to Colin, he loves his deceased best friend's widow! Yikes! She has waited three years after the death of her spouse to rejoin the kink scene and wants Colin to lead the way. I absolutely loved Colin and his low dominant voice giving Olivia her orders. Again, awesome chemistry abounds with these two. HOT! HOT! HOT!

Then we have Donovan, he's a war veteran and has some intimacy issues...mostly going with ménages and never doing the one on one with the subs. He meets Ana and falls hard for her. She has her own scars from her own war.

I loved all three brothers and the steamy scenes were well worth the read. Some of the other plot lines were not as interesting. We have a college worker helping out on the ranch and he's out for revenge on the McGilleys, but I was able to continue the story without too much issue. Although, sometimes, this infiltrator would pop up in a paragraph amidst the brother’s story, in his own point of view without warning...which would take me a second to figure out who was talking.

I live in the Midwest with my husband and our two dogs, a Poodle/Pyrenees mix and an Irish Water Spaniel.  I love dogs, enjoy spending time with my daughter, babysitting her two dogs, reading and working puzzles.  We have traveled extensively throughout the states, Canada and just once overseas, but I much prefer being homebody.  I worked for a while writing articles for a local magazine but soon found my interest in writing for myself peaking.  My first book was strictly spanking erotica, but I have slowly evolved to writing more towards erotic romance with an emphasis on spanking.  I wrote that first book mostly for fun, never dreaming it would be published, and after it was accepted I didn’t have any intentions of writing any more in this genre.  That was fourteen books ago and I’m still managing to find them interesting and fun to write.  Thus far, The McGilley Trilogy and Mate With Me are my most popular titles.

  1. Thank you for your review! In editing, my publisher eliminated the extra spaces between paragraphs for Ethan's scenes. It was corrected, but I must've goofed and sent you a copy that hadn't been corrected yet-apologies!
