Frannie is in her twenties and stuck in her life. She lost her mom and to stay close to her, she started running her antique shop. Her best friends were sixty-year-old sisters and she dressed in her mother’s clothes. She needed fun and adventure.

Luca was doing everything he could to save his sister and his niece after they were kidnapped. He was a professional conman. He conned for a living, until he conned the wrong people. To save his sister, he has to kidnap Frannie and take her to Mr. Death. What he doesn't expect is finding all of Frannie's weird crazy quirks cute and appealing. The more time they spend together, the more he knows he can't trade her for his sister. How will he save her and his sister and niece at the same time?

I debated whether or not I wanted to read this one. Don't get me wrong, I read almost everything Webster writes but I am not a huge fan of romcoms. I have to say this may have changed my mind about this genre. I found Luca and Frannie hilarious. They were sexy and fun. Frannie was just plain innocent and crazy and just made this book.

This is the romcom that I've been impatiently waiting for my whole life! This isn't slapstick funny, it's a bit cheesy at times, but on the whole I found myself laughing out loud, snorting often, and chuckling quite a bit.

Francis is a good girl, she's led a sheltered life (thanks to her mom) and appreciates the finer things life has to offer: TV dinners, romance novels, and Richard Simmons! Thankfully she isn't alone to tackle what life has to throw at her, she has a team of senior citizens who are concerned about her welfare and are ready to champion her cause, no matter what it is. Bea, Mabel, and Henry added so much to this story and I absolutely loved them. The character who really stole the show, though, is a tiny chihuahua, Bing.

Luca is a bad guy, he lives in the shadows and cons his way through life. Having only a couple people that he truly cares about, he sets off to complete the perfect con to help them better their situation. The problem is he gets involved with the wrong mark and his whole world is flips upside down.

I really liked this story; it was interesting and different. A little cheesiness, a lot of adventure, action, slow building romance, and a touch of mystery all come together to provide a truly entertaining read. I will admit that I had my suspicions of what was going on early in the book, but that really didn't bother me as I enjoyed seeing Frannie come into her own!

Overall, this was a strong four-star read.

This is an utterly silly, and very amusing romance/mafia/road trip story. It signposts what is going to happen, and yet keeps a few twists up its sleeve to catch you out and up the tension.

Whilst the two leads, Luca and Francis (I was very confused by this male spelling of the name initially!), are absolute gold together – their level of banter and the intelligence of their conversations is stellar – there are lots of side characters who give so much to describe the scene at the time. So the oldies in her hometown are just exactly as you would expect them to be... and bring to life the antiques store, the closed off, quite insular town they live in, but also a degree of cheeky fun. The Rossis are genuinely bad and cause injury, which jars very effectively with the sweetness and light that was just on the previous page... this jumping from good to bad is timed really cleverly and keeps you on your toes as a reader, which I enjoy.

I think I loved most of all the fact that in spite of Francis' insulated life, she still was absolutely full of energy, fun, and could pull a con just as well as Luca! And no review of this book could fail to mention Bing – her little dog with a big opinion!
