Hawke swore one day he’d hate Maddox for using him…
Maddox, lead singer of the band, Ugly Eternity, is a man of many secrets. Unfortunately, Hawke isn’t one of them. He’s been openly using Hawke for his delicious body for over a year, taunting him with a half-life, and always giving him just enough hope to keep him hanging on.
When three tiny and heartless words finally break Hawke, the day of reckoning arrives…
Even though Maddox knew Hawke would one day grow tired of his games, Maddox never expected how thoroughly the other man would cut him from his life. Left with no other recourse, Maddox is forced to live on Hawke’s terms to have any chance of reclaiming Hawke’s heart.
But in Hawke’s determination to rid himself of the sexy singer, he failed to consider one major detail—he belongs to Maddox.

He’d had enough. This constant weight sitting on his chest was choking the life from Hawke. The price of Maddox was Hawke’s sanity. It wasn’t one he could afford to pay any longer. Anger carried Hawke’s feet outside, intent on settling things now. Waiting hadn’t gained him shit. He found Maddox at his car, shirtless and digging around in the trunk.
“What was that all about?”
Maddox glanced up. The closed expression on his face let Hawke know this was going to be a useless conversation. Maddox shrugged.
“You were horny. I helped you out. No big deal.”
No big deal. Hawke’s brain latched onto those three tiny words and began repeating them like a mantra. Anger grew with each pass. As usual, he was no big deal. "I've got some of your clothes in my backseat." Hawke couldn’t believe how calm he sounded. Surely that wasn’t his voice.
Maddox didn't seem to notice anything off. “You should throw them out."
Hawke ran his hands through his hair, beyond frustrated. The guy couldn't give him inch. Not ever. "At least take my shirt so you'll have something. It's my fault you're without, and I can go home whereas you still have to work." Maddox still wouldn't look at him. He slammed the trunk closed. "Nah. It's cool." He flashed a fake smile, not meeting Hawke’s gaze. "Everyone likes me better this way anyhow." He smoothed his palm across his bare chest, emphasizing his point. "They'll never even notice when I'm off-key."
Hawke wanted to punch him in the throat. Maybe then Maddox would understand what it was like to be incapable of drawing a single breath. The way Hawke couldn't whenever he was around.

I was completely entertained by Cade and Dylan's story, but I couldn't wait for Maddox and Hawke. Hawke was tired of being the late night booty call that left him alone in the morning. He hated not knowing where he stood with Maddox. His heart was out there but was Maddox's? I loved seeing Hawke get a backbone and stand up for himself in all aspects of his life.
Maddox always held Hawke at arm’s length. He was playing a game, a game he didn't know if he was winning or losing. When Hawke walks away Maddox knows he can't continue this with Hawke. He has to fix it, will Hawke ever trust him again? Can Hawke understand why he needed to know if this thing between them was real?
Ms. Parkerson has weaved such a web I thought Maddox was the puzzle and I needed to figure him out, little did I know I would be rooting for Jaime when it was all said and done. I seriously cannot wait for Heart's Strum.

When Maddox realizes that Hawke meant what he said, that he was done, it hit him like a ton of bricks. It didn't matter that Maddox had been pushing him away for the better part of six months, it still came as a surprise that the one person that he had unwittingly came to count on, walked away.
Hawke had to leave. Tired of not being not only good enough, but anything to Maddox, Hawke decides to move on and cut all strings to the man who holds his heart. He moves, changes his number and quits hanging out at his old haunts. He's determined to find someone who will treat him as though he is enough.
Take a chance, open the book and see what secrets both Maddox and Hawke are hiding beneath their stony facades. My only gripe... not long enough and book 3 isn't already on the shelf.

This is Maddox and Hawke’s story, we met them briefly in the first book and I fell for Hawke and couldn’t wait to get the scoop on him! Maddox has been playing games with Hawke and he knew that eventually Hawke would get tired of it. Little did Maddox know that when Hawke got tired he went all out to prove that he was fed up and done with the games. I loved this book and I liked how it was longer than the first book. We learn what Maddox has been through, we meet up with the twins again and learn more about them and we of course get to see the story of Maddox and Hawke. This is by far my favorite in the series so far, can’t wait to see who is up next!
Characters: The characters were well written and believable.

This is the second in a series, although it could be read as standalone and enjoyed.
Maddox has been stringing Hawke along for a while, and eventually he snaps. How far will Maddox go to make things right? This story has some really likeable characters, and some very amusing scenes. It is also full of chemistry and passion and leads us straight towards the third book ... which I hope Ms. Parkerson is busy getting ready to release! Cannot wait for the twins' stories now.
Also Available in the Ugly Eternity Series

This was a sexy little read. I always enjoy a rocker book, throw in some m/m action and you've just upped the game. My only complaint is that it wasn't longer, just when I was getting into Cade and Dylan it ended.
Dylan is a bartender for Club Khronos, he loves his job. For six months he's tortured himself every time he sees Cade, he's the sexy drummer that plays every weekend at Club Khronos. Cade's been under the same torture watching Dylan from afar, until that night he makes his move. Can he finally make Dylan his? Will Cade admit his feelings or keep them hidden?
I am looking forward to book #2, more Maddox and Hawke!

Dylan has admired Cade from afar for a while now. Imagine his surprise when Cade interrupted Hawke's attempt to whisk him away after work. When two a.m. came, Cade was right there to tempt him with just more than a ride home.
Two rockers, a steamy bout of m/m action and a misunderstanding keep the story moving. My only complaint -- it wasn't long enough. I would love to read more about Dylan and Cade.

Short and sweet story about Cade and Dylan. This was a fast and steamy book. Cade has been the object of Dylan’s desire since the moment he saw him. When Hawke tries to ask Dylan out for a date Cade stops him and things get hot and never cool down, well, until Dylan realizes Cade might want to keep him a secret. I loved this book and can’t wait to read the next one, looks like it will be a great series.

This quick, sexy read introduces us to a number of interesting characters whom I am guessing will feature in future books in the series. I am looking forward to seeing where it goes from here. Hot guys getting up close and personal mixed in with band politics and New Orleans bar life – should be good!
