Persuasion by Violetta Rand

If you love the motorcycle romances of Joanna Wylde and Julie Ann Walker, don’t miss Violetta Rand’s irresistible novel about a sexy-as-sin biker who tempts a good girl to go bad.

Lang Anderson may be the new leader of the Sons of Odin motorcycle club, but his personal life is in shreds. He’s struggling to take care of his three young sisters in the wake of tragedy, while rumors of drug dealing within his ranks jeopardize everything he’s built. The last thing he needs is another distraction—like a bar brawl over a woman—but Lang is a sucker for a damsel in distress. And this one gets him roaring like a finely tuned engine.

High school guidance counselor Lily Gallo is no fender bunny. So why can’t she get Lang off her mind? Lily’s head says the rugged, rough-and-tumble biker who came to her aid is bad news. Her body begs to differ. But when Lang’s troubled kid sister walks into her office, Lily’s determined to help, even if it puts her in the crossfire of a gang war. On a crash course with danger and desire, Lily partners up with Lang to fight for his family—and for love.

Fantastic start to what is definitely going to be an addicting series. I loved this book. Lang Anderson has custody of his 3 younger sisters after his parents are killed in a motorcycle accident. He's also just recently taken over as MC president when the former president is arrested for murder. Lang spends most of his time split between the MC and his sisters and doesn't have much time for much else. Until Lily steps in to his life. Lily has just moved to Texas from Philly after her parents’ divorce. She's taken a new job as counselor at the local High School where Lang's sister happens to attend and once Lang and Lily are in a room together the sparks fly.

I really enjoyed that this book wasn't your typical MC read but had all the aspects of a great MC read. The plot line was original and fast paced. I look forward to reading book two in this series!

Starting with their current president going to jail for a very long time, Lang Anderson, VP of the Sons of Odin, is thrown into the president position of a club that is going to hell in a hand basket.

Lang has 3 sisters he has to raise after the death of his parents and living the MC life is tough on the family, being President is even worse. Cutting loose, he heads to the karaoke bar for a night of fun & runs into Lily. Lily is letting her hair down tonight and finds Lang's attention something she might be interested in, even if he looks like the ultimate bad boy in leather and patches. Lily & Lang are a fun couple. Lily has no clue about MC life and Lang has to give her a bit of a crash course. I enjoyed their banter and their chemistry together. The book ends way different than I thought it would, so that was a nice twist on a common story. At 200 pages, this novel just whets the appetite for more of the Sons of Odin. Very enjoyable read.

Lang's club, Sons of Odin, is a club that is on the verge of going under. Jess, the current president, is on his way to jail, leaving the club in jeopardy. Lang steps up to take control. He's balancing taking care of his three younger sisters and the club. Club life alone is hard on a family, but club life as the president is even worse. The brothers and his family come first, but it's running its toll on Lang. On a night out he meets Lily, who is clueless on club life. Can they make it work?

I enjoyed the read but was very bored at times. The twist at the end was a bit surprising and seemingly out of character for Lang. The sex scenes were steamy and the banter between the two characters was fun.

This is a very good read – and I am really looking forward to seeing where the series goes from here. It can be a bit overwhelming when a new series starts as the author tries to fill in the background and build the community we are being introduced. Ms. Rand does it in a really effective way through the eyes of Lily, and the tribulations of Lang. Effective, efficient and would serve a newbie to the MC world well, and satisfy a regular too.

There was enough danger, and angst, without being overdone, and the disconnect between outside and inside was mirrored by her professional and personal split too. They were great together, and the chemistry worked so well – mixing sweet, but not naive with hard, but not hardened.

Thanks Ms. Rand, and I am ready for book two whenever you are finished!
