Blind Love by Kelly Elliott Blog Tour

Harley and I had our whole lives planned out, until her plans changed, and those plans didn’t include me.

After years spent trying to get the love of my life out of my head and repair my too-damaged heart, I thought I was finally moving on… but life sure has a funny way of letting you know when those best-laid plans are about to be turned upside down.

My entire world was rocked when Harley unexpectedly moved back to Oak Springs. Every miserable moment I’d spent trying to get over her and every hour I’d wasted trying to erase her from my life came back to haunt me the minute she walked into my office, fear in her eyes, and asked me for help. Would I… or better yet, could I walk away from her this time after all that she had put me through?

What I really needed to know is would I be able to forge ahead with the future I had so meticulously planned—one that didn’t include Harley—or will her return finally open my eyes to a future full of endless possibilities?

The knock on my office door had me looking at my watch. Shit. It was seven.

“Come in.”

The door opened, and Cord walked in. “What in the hell are you still doing here this late?”

I shrugged. “I guess if I was being honest with myself, hiding.”

He sat down in one of the chairs facing my desk. “From?”

“Hell, I don’t know. Everyone.”

He nodded. “You want to talk about it?”

I dropped my pen onto the desk and scrubbed my hands down my face while leaning back in my chair.

“Fuck, Cord. I’m twisted up inside. I’m really trying to give this thing with Mallory a go.”

“What’s keeping you from doing that? Her kid?”

“No, hell no. I love little Laney. She’s precious, and I honestly hardly ever see her. Mallory is pretty strict about that. I’ll go over to pick them up for dinner or a movie, but I rarely hang out at their house. Mallory says she doesn’t want to confuse Laney.”

Cord lifted his brows. “Really? I would think Mallory would want you to get to know each other better.”

“Yeah, who knows. Maybe it’s for the best anyway.”

“So, what has you holding back?”

I stared at him. He already knew the answer. The five-foot-two, gorgeous brunette with the sun-kissed skin, and crystal-clear eyes that sparkled like emeralds was the reason I was so fucked up.

“I think you already know.”

He smiled. “Harley?”

I pointed to him. “Right, as usual.”

Pulling in a deep breath, Cord said, “She is looking damn hot. I heard Todd Schneider has been asking her out.”

My brows pulled together. “Steed’s old high school buddy?”

He nodded.

“How do you know this?”

“Corina told me.”

My jaw dropped. “She told you, but not me?”

Tossing his head back, he let out a roar of laughter. “Dude, why in the hell would she tell you?”

“I don’t know. Maybe because she’s my best friend, and she knows I dated Harley.”

“She also knows, like everyone else in town, that you’re now dating Mallory.”

“Still, she should have told me.”

“Why? Would it have made a difference to what is happening between you and Mallory?”

“To know that Harley is dating? No.”

I was getting better at telling myself that lie. Each night I laid in bed and thought about that fucking letter she wrote me. I had torn it up without even reading it. I had regretted it the moment I put it in the shredder.

“She said she had Milo in for a check-up, and Todd was in there with his new puppy. She overheard him asking Harley to dinner.”

I swallowed hard. “And Harley said no?”

He gave me a look that said I was pathetic. “Harley said no.”

Letting out the breath I hadn’t even known I was holding, I leaned back in my chair.

Cord stared at me. “Tripp, are you over her? Are you really able to say you can move on with another woman?”

“If you had asked me that before Harley came back I would have said probably. Maybe.”

“That shouldn’t make a difference, Tripp. What does her being back in town have to do with it?”

I let out a gruff laugh. “For starters, when I see her a flood of memories come rushing back. If Mallory is with me I can’t focus because I’m afraid she’ll catch me stealing glances at Harley, or she’ll ask me if I still have feelings for her.”

“Do you?”

“Yes. No. Yes.”

With a lift of his brow, Cord gave me an incredulous look. “Which one is it?”

Closing my eyes, I sighed. “I don’t know.”

Blind Love is the fifth installment in the Cowboys & Angels series. It shouldn't be read as a standalone since the story and plotlines weave their way throughout the series.

We have finally been granted Tripp and Harley's book. I can hardly contain my excitement about this. Tripp has always intrigued me the most throughout this series.

Tripp Parker had his life planned out since he was in high school. He knew exactly where he was going in life and who he was going there with. While he was busy planning his future, Harley was planning hers. Unfortunately, those plans didn't match so instead of holding him back she let him go.

When Harley moves back into town, she's not sure it's the right decision especially with Tripp so close. Tripp refuses to be anywhere near Harley, he's trying to move on with his life by dating someone else. When Harley's vet practice is threatened, she turns to the only person she can think of, but will he be willing to help her? Can she keep her heart from getting crushed again? Will he accept the apology she's been trying to give for years?

The Wanted series had me falling in love with Kelly Elliott's writing but this series, Cowboys & Angels, is by far my favorite series in any genre. I just love this Parker family. I’m scared that we've worked our way through most of the family with only two brothers to go. I don't want to see the end in this world.

I can't wait to see what lies ahead with Cord and Maebh!! Can one of the ultimate playboys finally be tamed!!

M/F Romance – second chance

Tripp's story is finally here. He is kind of an enigma – he has been following his plan since he was just out of high school. He thought that his future was all planned out, but when Harley throws a wrench in their plans – when she changes the plans – Tripp is kind of lost. For years, he holds Harley responsible for their failed relationship. The grudge that he holds is so strong that even years later, he refuses to speak with Harley.

Harley knew that she always wanted to be a vet. What she wasn't sure about was if she wanted to stay in her sleepy town and live out her life. She loved Tripp with everything that she had, but also wanted to spread her wings and travel. What she believed was the right choice led her down a path of regret and sadness. However, she was able to overcome and rise above – to live her life. Despite Tripp's unwillingness to forgive her, she finds her way back to their sleepy town to take over the local vet practice.

Tripp and Harley are stuck in a holding pattern until Harley is able to share the truth with her friends and family. It's up to these two – can they find their way back, or have there been too many years and too much hurt to overcome?

These are sweet stories and I can't wait to see what happens next.

This is the fifth in the series – although I must admit I have only read book 4 before this... something I intend to remedy when my to-be-read list allows! I think it reads fine as a standalone, but my knowledge even from the previous book enriched my experience.

Unusually in second chance romances, the 'wronged' party in the first instance, Tripp, is the one who frustrated this reader from the beginning. His insistence at never, ever letting Harley speak with him again, his refusal to listen to her, to read her letter, etc. has caused an almighty chasm which should have been a tiny, short-lived gap between them. So, even though he is an upstanding guy, and we are rooting for the Parker element in the story, he needs to get with the programme! When Harley finally breaks her own rule and explains to someone else what she vowed to tell him first, then he is in the wrong with everyone and the time for honesty finally arrives.

I did find his behaviour truly annoying, and whilst he may not have behaved totally reprehensibly, it was a close-run thing. There is living by a plan, and there is being unbearably rigid – and let's be realistic here, he had suffered no great hardships in life to be such a martyr!

Obviously everything comes together in a satisfying manner, and he gets a wake-up call, which results in some hot and super sweet moments, but lucky him for a patient Harley!
