This book was short but packed with a whole lot! Shawn and Dave are best friends, Shawn is gay, Dave isn't... well, at least he was until he tells Shawn one day that he is bi. Shawn has loved Dave forever and never in a million years thought Dave was gay. But when Dave and his girlfriend break up and Shawn finds out why the girlfriend broke things off, he is shocked and a little hopeful. I loved the chemistry between these two, you could feel the love they had for each other, even when they both didn't want to say anything or were mad at each other. The sex was smoking hot and the kink of Shawn's was hot too and I loved how much Dave loved it and embraced it. This book could have been 100 pages more and I would have kept on reading. I honestly can't wait to see what the next book entails.

This was a sweet, short novella with some definite steam! Dave and Shawn have been best mates since school, when Shawn came out to Dave at 15, Dave stood by his side. Shawn has been secretly in love with his best mate since then. Dave's pretty oblivious to Shawn's secret feelings and Dave is most certainly straight. Right? When Dave tells Shawn that he broke up with his girlfriend because she found him flirting with a guy, Shawn can’t believe what's happening. After all this time, can he actually be with Dave? Shawn has a bit of a secret himself though... what Dave finds in Shawn's laundry has Dave quite intrigued!

I thought this was a sweet duo, they had the usual miscues and some strife, but I enjoyed their chemistry very much. I loved the addition of the lacy undies kink! Quick and easy, pretty delightful read!

I love the cover for this book. It suggests a story with kink and heat and Lace delivers. Shawn is openly gay and has been in love with his best mate, Dave, pretty much since they met, but Dave is supposedly straight. When Dave confess that he and his girlfriend broke up because she caught him flirting with a guy everything changes.

If there was any doubt remaining that I'm kinky, it vanished while I was reading this book because I loved these two tearing up the sheets. It is insanely hot. It took a while before I really felt the emotional connection between our couple. Whether that was intentional because Shawn is doubting Dave's feelings or whether it was me, I don't know. Regardless, Lace was a fabulous story and I look forward to seeing what other fun, kinky tales the author comes up with for the rest of this series.

This is a sexy short story with an unusual kink that I very much enjoyed. This is fun erotica with a little bit of story added.

This isn’t going to win awards for character development or plausibility, but Shawn, the gym rat who loves to wear sexy lingerie, had my undivided attention from the moment I saw the cover until I finished the last page. The sex is hot and more than a little bit naughty.

I have to admit that I wasn’t completely convinced by the friends-to-lovers story. I’m not sure I understand why the author wrote Jake into the book and I found myself skimming the miscommunication angst.

But ultimately, I requested this because the cover grabbed me and the kinky bits definitely lived up to my naughtiest hopes.

K.C. Wells is a new-to-me author.

Lace is a super quick, easy to read, sexy and light, erotic piece.

Shawn and Dave have been friends since high school. Shawn's a gay man and he's always assumed Dave is straight. Dave's currently dating a woman he'd usually not go after at the gym, but interesting circumstances change that...

For the angst, Shawn's always harbored what he felt were unrequited feelings toward Dave, while Dave has been confused by his feelings toward Shawn, thinking the feeling would not be reciprocated if Shawn found out. A major pet-peeve of mine was exploited, the dreaded miscommunication plot device, which I found baffling between a pair of BEST friends.

This quick read features friends-to-lovers, a guy who feels sexy while dressed in lingerie, and his best friend turned lover who loves seeing how empowered and sexy Shawn is while he's wearing lingerie.

Sure, the book could have been expanded. Sure, the book could have delved a little deeper. But that would defeat the purpose of a short story, wouldn't it? While I enjoyed the read, I couldn't connect to the characters, and it had nothing to do with the shorter length. Execution, perhaps? The traits the characters possessed? The way best friends knew nothing about one another, and released private information to frenemies at the gym? Without that connection to the characters, I couldn't feel the lust, the tension, and the affection between the characters. May have been my mood, or how the story was written, but it was enjoyable nonetheless, and no doubt will please most readers.

Recommended for readers looking to inject a little lust by wearing a flush while reading this short story.

Born and raised in the north-west of England, K.C. WELLS always loved writing. Words were important. Full stop. However, when childhood gave way to adulthood, the writing ceased, as life got in the way. K.C. discovered erotic fiction in 2009, when the purchase of a ménage storyline led to the startling discovery that reading about men in love was damn hot. In 2012, arriving at a really low point in life led to the desperate need to do something creative. An even bigger discovery waited in the wings—writing about men in love was even hotter…

K.C. now writes full-time and is loving every minute of her new career. The laptop still has no idea of what hit it… it only knows that it wants a rest, please. And it now has to get used to the idea that where K.C goes, it goes.

And as for those men in love that she writes about? The list of stories just waiting to be written is getting longer… and longer…
