He’s exactly what she doesn’t need…
He’s exactly what she shouldn’t want…
He’s exactly what she should stay away from…
But she can't.
After losing her mother, Melia knew her life would never be the same, she just didn’t expect it to be so drastically different. Her mother’s final wish was something that not only changed her life but also the way she lives it. And it put her right in front of a man that angers her as much as he excites her.
Patrick ‘Wrench’ Ryan is president of the Tormented Souls Motorcycle Club. He’s strong, tough, and his word is law, but his sister knows how to get the upper hand with him. So, when she showed up with Melia and told him she’s staying in the club house, it didn’t take much to get him to relent. He tried to play nice, but Melia gets under his skin.
Things change when the club’s biggest foe escalates their rivalry in an attempt to bring the Tormented Souls President to his knees. It’s up to Patrick to protect his sister and the things most important to her. Will he be able to keep everyone safe? Will Melia get caught in the crossfire? Or will it all be for nothing in the end?

Patrick "Wrench" Ryan is a man with the weight of the world on his shoulders. He's had to sit back and watch his sister battle the BIG "C" and the helplessness that came with it. He's also trying to move his club to a more mainstream source of funds, with varying success. He knows that anything illegal will taint the future of his sister's children and he doesn't want that for them. He strives for control, because if it can control the world, he can keep his family safe.
Melia, suffering the loss of her mother, her last living relative, has offered to carry Ryan and Ellis' (Dirty's) child. Ryan and Malia's mom had become friends while taking chemo treatments together and Ryan had been there after her mother's death. Wanting to do something for the people who had been her rock, she offered to become their surrogate.
Melia is a complex person who tends to pull into herself when confronted with hard life choices. To make the offer, and then to become pregnant with someone else's children, is so far out of her comfort zone that she doesn't recognize herself.
Minor complications with the pregnancy bring Melia into Wrench's world, and he's not happy about it, but understands Ryan's need to nurture the woman that is carrying her children. What Ryan doesn't understand is how much Wrench wants Melia, nor does Wrench.
The road to happiness is often paved with good intentions and we all know where that leads. Come along, take the journey with Melia and Patrick to see if a rocky road can lead to a happily ever after.

Having used up a pile of tissues on Her Ride - which I highly recommend you read before this. In fact, I would suggest you go and do it before finishing this review, as it may mention things you discover in book 1.
This book is narrated by Melia, a woman who feels an obligation to help her mother's friend, (Shannon) Ryan, and Patrick (aka Wrench), Ryan's brother. They start out a million miles apart, but their connection develops through Ryan and Ellis (aka Dirty). It is fun being the reader, as we benefit from knowing what each one think. I enjoyed the biker club context, and the issues that Wrench faces, as he tries to clean up his act for his family. There were some very funny scenes, and some very moving ones.
This is a worthy second story from Ms Orman, and I am delighted that there is another book to come and I will definitely be reading it as soon as I can.

Stay at home mother of two with a passion for reading almost as much as writing. She is often found curled up with her Kindle reading while her children cuddle up on either side 'reading' books of their own. Married for almost ten years to the most wonderful husband and father, she couldn't ask for more out of life. Except maybe to live somewhere not quite as hot as the desert she currently lives in.
