Woven by Erica Chilson

Woven is a story about friendship. A bromance

Rory Essex never made friends his own age. When he moved across the street from Bethany Oman, he was the older kid playing with the baby. Rory befriended Beth’s besties– Devon and Essie. But as they got older, puberty struck, and the age-gap got wider. Rory found new friends, older friends. Inappropriate friends who impacted his entire life– Isis, Auggie, and Robin.

Little Bethany Oman finally grew up, and the age-gap shrunk down to nothing. Now she’s Bethany Essex, and she wants her husband to reconnect with her soon-to-be married besties. Bethany and Essie are as thick as thieves, so they set their husbands up on a blind-bromance-date.

Rory doesn’t realize he’s dating Devon– he just finds the guy intoxicating. Hours out of rehab, struggling with bipolar disorder, and a smothering family, Devon wants two things out of life: to feel safe and to feel alive by having fun.

But Devon’s version of fun has to be at an extreme. Cops and fast cars, action movies, and manipulative friends are the makings of a livewire, lust-fueled bromance to last the next seventy years...

Woven is a short novel of approximately 52,000 words, featuring the following situations: MM, MF, & FMMF, between bisexual & demisexual males and their female partners.

Best friends Bethy and Essie basically match make their men. Rory is newly married and madly in love with his wife, Bethy, but he is struggling with the admission that he is bisexual. Devon has just returned from rehab to his pregnant girlfriend Essie and is in need of a friend, someone that isn't a member of his family.

The Blended series deals with some pretty heavy issues and while they are present in Woven, the story is so much fun. Rory's initial discomfort with being pushed at Devon leads to a fabulous bromance and some seriously sexy scenes. As soon I finished Woven I wanted to go back and read it all again.

Book 6 in the Blended series focuses on Rory Essex, who is recently married to Bethany (for their story see book #2), and Devon Mason (who's with Essie Prynne). They are both in committed relationships and are happy with their partners, but are finding that they have other needs. Both men are learning about their sexual needs, with the help of best friends Beth and Essie (aka their partners).

This story is NOT all sunshine and rainbows, it's NOT an easy journey for either man but it IS worth the work!
I'm not much of a fan of the M/M genre, but this was so much more than just that. This was about the growth and maturation of two men who needed the other to fill the missing piece of themselves.
On that note, the F/M/M/F scene was ridiculously HOT!~

These books need to be read in order, as each story overlaps previous books, but through different character perspectives.

Woven is book #6 of the Blended series. This series needs to be read in order as the author intended.

Woven is written in Rory's point of view. Rory and Beth are just married and trying to navigate their new life together. Beth and Essie have decided that even though Rory and Devon were friends when they were younger, they need reignite that friendship now, especially when their wives are BFFs.

Everyone needs that one person, the person you can be yourself with. You can be completely unguarded with no fear of judgement. Devon needs someone to be that person and Beth and Essie think Rory would be perfect.

More than once, Devon being his most honest brought me to tears. After Warped I loved getting someone else’s prospective of Devon.

One thing you can count on in any book she writes, Ms. Chilson will bring the heat. Woven is no exception, the sex scenes were steamier than I have read in a long time and tied up with so much emotion. I couldn't get enough!

I can't wait to see what Ms. Chilson has up her sleeve next!

This is the sixth book in the series – and without a doubt you need to be up to date with the previous books to fully grasp the significance of the story it tells. This is a wonderful point in the journey taken by Devon, with some hugely significant revelations, which I have to admit had me rethinking some of my previous ideas about him. It finally gives us a better insight into Rory, letting him take (almost) centre stage for a change. He is delicious in every way that Devon is not, so forms a great complement to his newly acquired partner. Much of this you would not enjoy or even understand without the knowledge gained in the earlier books.

However... even if you had no idea about any of the background, the nuance, or anything else, you would find this a super-hot, turbo-charged sexual adventure of the highest order. There is little doubt that significant inroads into the fuel crisis could achieved by capturing the heat generated by readers of this book. My advice – read it in private, (unless you have an exhibitionist streak!).

I should mention the other partners in this story as they are super fun, super sneaky in getting the guys together, and super hot when everyone enters the fray!

Thank you again, Ms. Chilson, for delivering the unexpected and making it utterly reasonable, and in this story in particular, incredibly uplifting.

It’s hard to know what's missing in your life until you are forced to come face to face with it. Rory is that person. He doesn't want to be different, he just wants to love and be loved.

After admitting he is bisexual to his wife and friends, he's even more insecure about who he is and how it will affect his marriage. He soon realizes that his fears are unfounded as Bethany only wants what's best for him, even if it means sharing him with others.

Rory's journey of self discovery and finding his way back to a childhood friend and crush, Devon, is explored in this installment. As Rory embraces his sexuality and feelings for Devon, he's afraid that giving himself to others will diminish what he has with Bethany. Bethany's understanding and encouragement of him amazes him and soon he realizes that love has no limits.

Erica Chilson does not write in the 3rd person, wanting her readers to be her characters. Therefore, writing a bio about herself, is uncomfortable in the extreme.

Born, raised, and here to stay, the Wicked Writer is a stump-jumper, a ridge-runner. Hailing from North Central Pennsylvania, directly on the New York State border; she loves the changes in seasons, the humid air, all the mountainous forest, and the gloomy atmosphere.

Introverted, but not socially awkward, Erica prides herself on thinking first and filtering her speech. There are days she doesn’t speak at all. If it wasn’t for the fact that she lives with her parents, giving her a sense of reality, she would be a hermit, where the delivery man finds her months after expiration.

Reading was an escape, a way to leave a not-so pleasant reality behind. Reading lent Erica the courage she gathered from the characters between the pages to long for a different life. Writing was an instrument of change, evolving Erica into the woman she is today- a better, more mature, more at peace thinker.

Erica has a wicked mind, one she pours out into her creations. Her filter doesn’t allow all of it to erupt, much to her relief. Sarcastic, with a very dark, perverse sense of humor, Erica puts a bit of herself into every character she writes.
