Threepeat by K.C. Wells & Parker Williams

Can two Doms open their hearts again for a young man desperately in need of their help?

Two years ago, Aaron Greene and Sam Thompson were devastated when their submissive broke the contract that bound the three of them together. They still wonder what happened and whether they can find a way to move forward. When Aaron finds a sick young man by the curbside, his protective instincts kick in, and after consulting Sam, he takes Tim home.

After being thrown out of his home, Tim Waterman finds himself on the street, doing whatever he needs to survive. Until a bear of a Good Samaritan scoops him up and saves him. Then one bear becomes two, and a chance discovery gets him thinking about what might be, if he’s bold enough to make a move.

So what happens when Aaron and Sam wake up one morning to find Tim naked in their bed? Will they get a new chance at life, or will history Threepeat itself?

I have read all of the previous books in this series, but this can be read as a standalone. However, I have enjoyed them all and do recommend them.

This is Aaron and Sam's story. They had a sub who they were truly in love with, but when Seb, their sub, decided to break the contract and leave, neither Aaron or Sam knew what to do with themselves. For a while, they continued to exist. More recently, Sam has been trying to get Aaron more engaged in the outside world, beyond work. At a loss of how to truly move forward, neither has been willing to go to the club or interact with their friends from there either.

When Aaron comes across Tim, who is so weak and sick, he's falling down in the street, Aaron knows that he has to help. Sam and Aaron bring Tim into their home and nurse him back to health. Along the way, Tim becomes more than their charge – he becomes part of their relationship.

It's a slow burn in their relationship and watching all three of them interact, you can see how much they truly care for each other. There are some hot scenes and a lot of tender moments. Tim helps both Sam and Aaron see their relationship in a new light too.

When Seb comes back, all three of them will have to decide what happens next.

I wish that Tim's family had been more resolved. It felt left out after it was such a huge part of the beginning of the story. I loved how the relationship developed and changed. The secondary characters are just as funny and sweet as they had been in previous books too. I love these characters and how supportive they all are of each other. I truly enjoyed this book and all of the hard choices that came with it.

This is a BDSM romance that only just manages to skate around some of my personal triggers. I liked the characters and the sex is hot – but readers who enjoy full power exchange relationships will enjoy the narrative behind this D/s focused story much more than I did.

When Aaron brings home a very ill street kid, he and Sam are surprised to discover how much they get out of caring for the young man. And as much as Tim fills a void in their life, Sam and Aaron provide Tim with the comfort and security he desperately needs. I like the way the three men fit together, and I like the slow burn heat as all three fumble towards the relationship they need from each other. The start of this book is lower heat than many I’ve read by these authors but there are some wonderfully kinky scenes later in the story.

Personally, there were too many times I was uncomfortable with the power imbalance in the relationship between Aaron, Sam, and Tim. When Aaron and Sam take Tim in, he is homeless, bruised, and very ill. While Aaron and Sam are rich, successful middle-aged men, Tim is still a teenager. And he reads as very, very young – especially in the first half of the book. Consent in this book feels a little bit blurry and I was never sure how much Tim’s desire to be Sam and Aaron’s slave is tied to the circumstances that brought him to their home in the first place.

Again, my reaction is pretty personal. I admit to being a fair-weather BDSM reader and I’m not sure I’ve ever fully understood the attraction of total power exchange relationships. I liked all three of these characters and I enjoyed the sex in this story.

This is the third book in the series. While you don't have to read the previous books, it would help you understand and love some of the characters that show up in this book from previous ones. This book was a great read for me. Not a ton of angst but just a bit. There was love, compassion, friendship, and family in this book. There are trigger warnings, so please read those. Tim has a tough go of things and is at rock bottom when he meets Aaron and Sam. I'm not going to summarize the blurb because I'm sure you already read it. Just know this book pulls at your heart strings. Aaron and Sam are so good with Tim. Tim is amazing despite his horrible family. Friends become the chosen family and some families really do love unconditionally. I was glad to see characters from previous books. I love Maggie and hope to see her in future books again. Good love story.

K.C. Wells

I've always written, right from an early age. I was always writing stories as a child, and as I grew up, I had the idea of writing a novel, like so many people do. Born and raised in the north-west of England, K.C. Wells always loved writing. Words were important. Full stop. However, when childhood gave way to adulthood, the writing ceased, as life got in the way. K.C. discovered erotic fiction in 2009, where the purchase of a ménage storyline led to the startling discovery that reading about men in love was damn hot. In 2012, arriving at a really low point in life led to the desperate need to do something creative. An even bigger discovery waited in the wings—writing about men in love was even hotter... K.C. now writes full time and is loving every minute of her new career. The laptop still has no idea of what hit it... it only knows that it wants a rest, please. And it now has to get used to the idea that where K.C goes, it goes.

Parker Williams

PARKER WILLIAMS began to write as a teen, but never showed his work to anyone. As he grew older, he drifted away from writing, but his love of the written word moved him to reading. A chance encounter with an author changed the course of his life as she encouraged him to never give up on a dream. With the help of some amazing friends, he rediscovered the joy of writing, thanks to a community of writers who have become his family.

Parker firmly believes in love, but is also of the opinion that anything worth having requires work and sacrifice (plus a little hurt and angst, too). The course of love is never a smooth one, and Happily Ever After always has a price tag.
