What Might Kill Us by M.N. Forgy Blog Tour

Brotherhood is what Bull bleeds and all that he knows.
Being the king of The Devil’s Dust and surrounded by easy women was his everyday… until having his heart broke rooted him to the bottom of a whiskey bottle.
Heartbroken, and drowning in lost memories he’s unsure of the direction of his life, when the answer – consisting of a terrified Mexican girl- nearly knocks him off his feet.
Determined to get his act together and rectify his club, he rides to Texas for answers, only to be confronted with the emotional ghosts he isn’t ready to deal with.
He sees Anahi, and he wants her.
But she may come with more baggage than Bull is ready for.

Anahi used to be prim and proper. She used to wear dresses and keep up appearances to impress people she didn’t know. I guess you could say she was a fucking lady.
But that was when she lived in Mexico with her parents.
Before her uncle turned on her.
Before, the only man she ever loved, her step-brother, betrayed her.
Before she was forced to be a drug mule for the Cartel.
Evening gowns a lost memory, expensive heels traded for boots, and a nine millimeter in her hand instead of a limited edition purse. Anahi sets aside everything she’s ever known including the fairytale stories her mother told her about America.
She’s angry, determined, and looking for a way out.

Well, M.N Forgy has done it again. I love this series and always wanted Bull's story. It was kind of unfinished when Babs died, so I was really excited to read this book. I'll tell you, it didn't disappoint.

Bull is struggling with life after the death of Babs a few years back, drinking himself stupid just to mask his pain. The men are worried about him, but have no idea how to help.

When a young Mexican girl runs into him, begging for help, he sees the opportunity for revenge on the gang he thought was long gone.

Anahi is a girl that got dealt a rubbish hand in life, however, she is a survivor and does what she has to to stay alive.

Anahi and Bull are each other’s salvation, they butt heads more than anything. However, they need each other to get through their whirlwind lives.

As always, it's great to see others from the series in the book. However, Danni annoyed me quite a bit in this one. I know Bull is her dad and he clearly has problems, but she treated him like he was a 3-year-old.

I really hope there are more books in this series. As long as M.N Forgy writes them, I will read them.

What Might Kill Us was a much better read for me than The Lies Between Us, so I was very pleased about that, especially considering my current mood. I needed to be able to escape into the world that Forgy created and I did. There was just something about the wounded couple that drew me into Bull and Anahi’s story. Even though their connection is almost instant, it takes a while before a relationship to develop between Bull and Anahi because their first meeting was a brief, but memorable encounter. With Anahi’s Mexican Cartel roots and Bull’s and the Devil’s Dust MC’s unfinished business, the book was ripe for tons of action and a healthy dose of suspense, and the author made use of the setup extremely well by keeping the action levels high, then lulling the reader into a false sense of security before dropping the proverbial hammer on them. Good times, good times.

Considering how far into the bottle Bull had fallen since Babs’s death, it was encouraging to see his response to Anahi. As I said, their first meeting was intense and had it not been for the excessive amount of alcohol he had running through his system, that meeting may have gone another way entirely. However, both Fate and Forgy had long-term plans in place that not only enabled Bull to get his girl (this is book five in the series, so I don’t consider that a spoiler because the endgame for each book has been well established), but also puts the Devil’s Dust in position to mete out some long overdue retribution. The how, who, where, when, and what are prime spoiler material I won’t reveal because there were things I never saw coming, one of which had me muttering expletives under my breath. Although Anahi and Bull seem like an unlikely couple, their past hurts and present needs mesh well together – her need for a safe place where she belongs and his need to protect – and this makes an already wild ride even more exciting. I still twitch when the characters smirk too often, but that’s just me and overall, I found What Might Kill Us to be an extremely enjoyable read… even if Bull got (understandably) sappy at the very end. I look forward to the next wild ride with the Devil’s Dust MC because there are more guys ripe for the picking, even if they don’t think they’re ready to settle down yet.
