No Obligation Required by Kelly Jamieson

To err is human, to forgive is against his policy.

Bailey Harris is eager to move up at Huxworth Packard. Her mentor advises her to network more after hours. But that means she’ll have to reveal the reason she rushes out of the office at five o’clock on the dot—and it’s not for happy hour Cosmos.

On the other hand, more office time means more opportunities to feast her eyes on the firm’s executive creative director, the gorgeous, brilliant Mason Ward.

Mason sure has noticed the sweet, sexy media girl, but with a past that left his heart an echo chamber, his focus is on work. The occasional itch he scratches with meaningless, emotionless hook-ups. Though he’s determined to keep his hands off Bailey, he can’t resist when she makes it very clear she wants his hands on.

They’re on the same sexy page about their relationship—Bailey doesn’t have the time, and Mason doesn’t have the heart. But when meaningless sex suddenly becomes very meaningful, they find themselves in dangerous emotional waters.

Warning: This book contains a girl with a mad crush, a mad man with a mysterious past, secrets, lies, and shoes.

To me, this book was much better than the first one. In this installment we see more antics of the Brew Crew as well get an insight of who will be the subject of book 3.

Bailey is hiding something, a pretty big something. She doesn't want everyone to know her personal situation, never liking the pity stares she garnered once someone found out her story. But in order to advance at HuxPac she's going to have to re-evaluate her work ethic. Bailey is very work oriented and wants to advance, but she's raising her 10 year old sister and it makes it hard to work the late hours everyone expects. No one knows that she works from home after hours and she doesn't mention it. The one bright spot in her life is the crush she has on Mason. He barely knows she exists but that's fine with her. A girl can dream right?

Mason has noticed Bailey and for more than just the good job she does with the media accounts. Her ideas are innovative and her knowledge of digital media is almost unparalleled, but that doesn't mean he hasn't noticed her long blonde hair or her curvy frame. Mason is also hiding something, and he hides it by entertaining a different woman every week. Though, it’s getting harder and harder not to act on his attraction to Bailey.

Once passion ignites and they both agree it’s nothing serious, can anything get them to realize that "nothing serious" is in fact the most serious emotion of all – love.

This is the second in a series, and I would recommend that you read them in order. The story is about a different couple, but to get the vibe of the Brew Crew and some of the background, I would start at the beginning – and it is a really good book!

We know from Limited Time Offer that Mason is not one for relationships, but he has plenty of female company. We also know that Bailey always leaves dead on 5pm, and no-one knows why, but it gives them a non-serious about work feeling about her – so when she says smart things, they are confused. (Irrespective of the reasons, this attitude is one which I absolutely hate, so was delighted that some lessons on that score are learned in the book!). When they get together, it is hot, passionate and intense, and very sexy...until Bailey (has to) leave. Some of their lines to each other are absolutely classic, and the whole unexpected fun side of things is something they both have been missing.

As we watch these two dance around each other and their reasons for being averse to a relationship, it becomes clear that something is going to blow. The question is who will be there to pick up the pieces, and how will they get glued back together.

Now, be serious, has Ms. Jamieson ever let us down? ... so read and enjoy. I am hoping that book 3 is out soon!
