Limited Time Offer by Kelly Jamieson

Sex may sell, but their deal doesn’t include love…

Account Director Sloane Granderson has been given her orders by the CEO—tone down the antics of the “Brew Crew”, the guys at Huxworth Packard Advertising who work on their biggest account. Sure, they’re all puffed up, strutting egos, but they’re also the best and brightest creatives in Chicago. Including the newest recruit, disturbingly attractive Levi Wolcott.

Award-winning copywriter Levi is pumped to have been headhunted to Huxworth Packard to work on the beer account. But he’s not off to a good start when he and Sloane first meet in an embarrassing encounter in a hotel hall, and the Brew Crew’s merciless new-guy hazing doesn’t improve his shaky first impression. Even worse, Levi can’t ignore the intense attraction he has to Sloane.

Despite their mutual “hell no” when it comes to love, a moment of weakness makes Sloan and Levi believe business and pleasure can be kept separate, and maybe a little harmless sex isn’t that dangerous.

Or maybe it’s as harmless as a bomb with a lit fuse…

Warning: This book contains a hero with an award-winning, panty-melting vocabulary intent on the hard sell, and a take-charge businesswoman who doesn’t mind giving up control in the bedroom…and thinks panties are overrated, anyway.

Mary Jo☆☆☆
I really liked the premise of this book, but parts of it just fell flat for me. Sloane is an Account Manager at a large advertising firm in Chicago and manages several accounts and the people that work on those accounts. During the course of the book, she's asked to rein in the "Brew Crew," a group of men who work primarily on beer campaigns, yet she seems unable/unwilling to do so. Some of the antics the guys get up to are little more than juvenile pranks but management seems unwilling to discipline them all in the vein of "boys will be boys" or "creative genius." The only person that seems to have a real problem with their behavior is the CEO and he discusses this issue several times with Sloane.

Why did I dedicate a paragraph of my review to this one point? Because Sloane is portrayed as a hard task master who demands perfection from the people who work for her. She's stern in one-on-one situations but in my opinion, the author failed to give her authority when it comes to managing a group of people, be it men or women.

The romance between Sloane and Levi gets off to rocky start. She's not looking for romance or even a hook up. She's content with her life being all business having learned at a young age that when you love someone it often leads to heartache. Levi isn't looking for forever either. He's not really looking for anything beyond a little fun and a lot of sex. It only takes one night of steamy sex to hook them both, yet neither will admit to it.

What a great start to a series! It has lots of interesting angles, and some fabulous humour...let alone some hot as hell chemistry heating up the pages. I do recommend that you find yourself a good chunk of time to spare, as once you start it is difficult to put this down. It somehow manages to include everything you want, as well as everything you expect, but just make it that much better. It is cute, but not corny; there's a player, no wait, there are sort of two; career comes first, oh, really, says who?

Hugely entertaining, and lots of side characters who clearly need their story telling – and hopefully we get to catch up on old friends along the way – I cannot wait. Ms. Jamieson has done it again – struck romantic gold!

Kelly Jamieson lives in Winnipeg, Canada with her husband, two teenage children and sucky lap dog, who thankfully lets her cuddle because her kids won’t anymore. Since her life as a working mother is so ordinary, she started making up stories about the neighbors, much to the concern of her family. She then decided to start inventing characters and writing stories. She loves reading, cooking, gardening, shoes, and especially writing about love.
