Beneath a Hot Tequila Sun by Catelyn Cash

Sculptor Kayla Macpherson travels to Mexico to study the art in a remote pyramid on an island in a river in the middle of a steamy jungle. She isn’t looking for sex or adventure but finds both when she is trapped on the island overnight with American archaeologist Jake Forrester and his soldier friend, Seth.

Jake and Seth both want Kayla. And they don’t mind sharing. The problem is, Kayla doesn’t seem the type of girl who is up for a threesome. So the men are very much surprised to hear this isn’t her first.

What Kayla doesn’t tell them is that her previous ménage didn’t live up to expectations – especially as her male partners ignored her and started getting it on with each other. And she definitely doesn’t tell them how much it turned her on to watch. Which is okay because Jake and Seth have their own secrets. Like, sometimes when the mood takes them, they are a lot more than friends.

They could be perfect together, if only they didn’t keep secrets…

This was a fun, sexy read.
Kayla makes the trek to investigate the [sexy] artwork adorning a pyramid, in a river island in the jungle of Mexico. When she arrives, she's alone on the island – until she notices a man sitting in the sun, whom doesn't seem to speak English.
When a terrible storm hits, Kayla and the hot man (archaeologist Jake) take cover inside the pyramid – and our story heats up quickly. Then, it gets better(!!) when Seth joins the party. Sexy-time galore, a little getting to know one another, and a proposal to meet again leaves Kayla a bit out of sorts.
I would've been fully satisfied if the story ended right here, but it doesn't and turmoil is introduced.
Many factors are stacked against the trio: They don't really know one another (well in Kayla's case), they don't live on the same continent, can a threesome really work?
The question is: Can Jake, Seth, and Kayla overcome the obstacles in their way? Or will they determine what happens in Mexico, stays in Mexico?

The first half was scorching hot, the second half made this story complete, and all I can really say is that I want to visit that pyramid!

Whew… I didn't know what I was getting into here!!! I absolutely loved the beginning when he is hiding under his hat… That was awesome!!

I have to say I really liked the way the story flowed and the characters. I did have a bit of an issue with the scenes not being really developed. The first one on top of the pyramid and their first scene as a trio... then it seems a bit like a bunch of short scenes thrown together. While they all worked, I think we could've been made to fall in love with the characters and feel their emotions more than we did. As it was, it felt a bit like looking in from the outside with a piece of glass between. We only saw what they wanted us to see.

That being said, I felt all in all it was a good story and would read more from this author since even with short scenes, the story was good and the writing was very good and fluid.

This book is full of sex, hot steamy sex and I loved it. While I was bored for the first several pages due to hardly any dialogue I will say the book did pick up and finally hold my interest. Kayla went to Mexico to study art, she never thought she would find a man, much less two. Jake and Seth have been friends for years, more than friends actually. Kayla doesn't tell Jake and Seth all of her past and Jake and Seth can’t admit they have feelings for each other. What can they do when they all have secrets that are keeping each other apart? This was one hot read that you shouldn't pass up.

Characters: The characters were well written and believable.
Sex: Ohhhhh yes
Religious: No
Would I recommend to others: Yes
More than one book in the series: No
Genre: M/F, M/F/M, M/M Romance
Would I read more by this author: Yes

Heat Level: Scorching!

One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it’s worth watching.

I’m a writer of hot erotic romance and I love it. I don’t just mean I enjoy writing it, I love telling people what I do. Stop me in the street for a survey and ask my occupation, there’s always a silence before the interviewer pretends they didn’t hear and quickly moves on to the next question or even the next interviewee. It’s a great conversation starter (or stopper) at parties too. Not one my long suffering husband encourages if his work colleagues are within earshot!

I’ve travelled a lot but I’m currently settled in the wild Yorkshire moors with my husband, a cat called Evil and a python called Jake. I love the cat, despite her name but I still feel I was conned into welcoming Jake into the house. He came from a shop called Mad Jack’s Snake and Tattoo Emporium. How I wish I’d bought a T-Shirt, too.

I’m not done travelling – not by a long shot. Which is why writing is such a perfect occupation. Every new place, every new face can spark wicked inspiration, and time spent on the road is time to I can allow my imagination run wild. I rarely arrive at my destination without some sexy characters and a brand new story in my head.
