Wicked Reads Reviews – Mutual Release by Liz Crowe

Can two dark souls ever make a light?

As president of her own distribution company, Julie Dawson has all she ever wanted -- money, power, and respect. But her carefully crafted façade conceals a torment of abuse and helplessness. After years remaining emotionally aloof, she is finally independent, but alone. Because she refuses to rely on anyone but herself ever again.

Evan Adams is no stranger to success, or personal demons. The horrific trauma that destroyed his twin sister, and tore his family apart, forced him to craft a new life from the ashes of the old. He's content enough, focusing ahead and not dwelling on his murky past. But something important is missing. He knows what that thing is but refuses to acknowledge it.

When a chance encounter brings these two strong-willed but damaged people together, what seems like a long, erotic journey through hell could lead them to a match made in heaven.

Angie☆☆☆☆
I was really hesitant on reading this book when I saw it was broke up into three parts. Evan, Julie and then them together, other books I have read that were written that way made me scared. I almost stopped reading the book once I actually started because it just didn’t seem to go anywhere but I am glad I stuck with it. The book is really good, not every book has to be all hearts and flowers – life isn’t like that. I will admit there are times when Evan and Julie are both so full of drama I just wanted to scream. And the characters flip flop, it is enough to make you want to just slap someone. Evan is a dom, then doesn’t want to be a dom, Julie is a strong woman, then she just does whatever Evan says, it all seems so unrealistic but then how often is what we go through in our everyday lives any different?

Characters: I think I connected more with Evan and felt his pain and suffering but I didn’t feel that way about Julie for some reason, I just didn’t connect with her. Julie’s character didn’t seem as well written or something.
Sex: Lots
Religious: No
Would I recommend to others: Yes
More than one book in the series: Part of the Stewart Realty series
Genre: Romance/Erotica
Would I read more by this author: Yes

Amazon best-selling author, beer blogger and beer marketing expert, mom of three, and soccer fan, Liz lives in the great Midwest, in a major college town. She has decades of experience in sales and fund raising, plus an eight-year stint as a three-continent, ex-pat trailing spouse. While working as a successful Realtor, Liz made the leap into writing novels about the same time she agreed to take on marketing and sales for the Wolverine State Brewing Company.

Most days find her sweating inventory and sales figures for the brewery, unless she’s writing, editing or sweating promotional efforts for her latest publications.

Her early forays into the publishing world led to a groundbreaking fiction subgenre, “Romance for Real Life,” which has gained thousands of fans and followers interested less in the “HEA” and more in the “WHA” (“What Happens After?”). More recently she is garnering even more fans across genres with her latest novels, which are more character-driven fiction, while remaining very much “real life.”

With stories set in the not-so-common worlds of breweries, on the soccer pitch, in successful real estate offices and many times in exotic locales like Istanbul, Turkey, her books are unique and told with a fresh voice. The Liz Crowe backlist has something for any reader seeking complex storylines with humor and complete casts of characters that will delight, frustrate, and linger in the imagination long after the book is finished.
