This book started off slow for me but eventually got my attention. Bree was left at the alter; her two best friends want to help her get back on track and find a new man. Of course now Bree is being set up with men her friends think will be good matches. One bad blind date leads to meeting a knight in shining armor. Without so much as a name, Bree can only dream about her knight, that is until he is her second blind date set up by her best friend Adelle.

When Bree's fiancé leaves her on her wedding day for the wedding coordinator, Bree is lost. Being with Ronald for seven years she doesn't know how to go on alone. She doesn't know what's next. Both her friends think she needs to get “back on the horse” and fixing her up on a blind date seems like just the way to help. Her first date is a disaster. The only saving grace is the alcohol, which she consumes way too much of. When the date ends on a sour note and she is in need of being rescued, a stranger steps in to save the day. After she can't get the handsome stranger off her mind, she agrees to another set up. Can this date help her move on from the nameless stranger?

M.S. Parker is becoming one of my favorite serial authors. I have been enjoying the short stories. I haven't found one yet that I didn't devour. The plot and character execution is always spot on. Can't wait to see where following books in Casual Encounter go.


Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This story introduces Bree, recovering from being jilted by her fiancé. Her two best friends want to set her up, so that she can get back in the dating game. Not wanting to spoil the story line, suffice it to say that there are twists in the tale, which leave the reader wanting to know how that can possibly work out ... As always great writing from Ms. Parker – she knows how to pitch the reader right into the action!

Off to read the second installment.

Bree is devastated when she finds out that Adelle paid Cade to go out with her, to have sex with her. She's frustrated, mad, offended that her friends don't think she can find a man on her own. She wants that confidence in herself to be able to get what she wants. When Cade gives Bree a chance to learn from him, at first she refuses. When she realizes this chance is what she needs to improve upon herself she takes it, especially since Adelle is footing the bill. The only rule is no one falls in love. Can she follow that rule? Or will her heart take over?

Loving Cade! I love getting the little pieces at the end from his POV! Can't wait to see where volume 3 goes!


Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
Bree gets an opportunity to broaden her horizons, and at someone else's expense – so she takes it, but by the end of this installment she makes a very unwelcome discovery ...

I'm really enjoying the moral dilemmas and delving into her thoughts and feelings – I am certain that there is more to come. Fun, hot fantasy moments – who would not give it a go ... and yet?

Casual Encounter Vol. III

I thought I could handle this business arrangement. It was what I'd wanted, after all. Someone to teach me how to be the kind of woman every man desired. Every man, that was, but one.

When Bree Gamble agrees to let escort Cade Shepard mold her into a beautiful, confident woman, she tells herself that it's business, nothing more. A transaction between consenting adults. Sex with no emotional strings attached. Exactly what she needs after the disastrous end to her previous relationship.

Cade refuses to let Bree go, he's not done with her. Can a weekend away with Cade be everything Bree imagined it could be or will Cade still be in “teacher” mode?

I am loving this series. I have to tear myself away from my Kindle just to get a review written before I jump into the next book. Bree's feelings are so out there. (It is in her POV, lol) I know Cade feels something for her too. Can he keep fighting those feelings?


Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
Fully immersed in the experience, Bree is falling deeper, and playing a game with herself to make sure she covers up her true feelings. Is Cade starting to break rules, or just pushing her? – I'm really enjoying the voyeurism this story is presenting to me!

Onto book 4 as this could unfold into quite a big mess, or an amazing opportunity!

Casual Encounter Vol. IV

When my attempt at a date ended disastrously and Cade has come to my rescue again, I wondered if, maybe there was something more between us than business. Or was it just wishful thinking?

Bree Gamble is following the directions from her teacher, Cade Shepard, but things don’t go exactly as planned. Cade’s rescue leads revelations about his past, things that make Bree fear their arrangement is about to end because of rule number one. She can’t deny the attraction she has beyond physical and, now, she believes there’s a possibility that Cade feels the same way. Will they trust each other enough to confess their true feelings, and if they do, will it all end with them each going their separate ways?

Will Cade tear them apart because of his rules? I am enjoying seeing more back story from Cade. Why he is like he is. The past that's haunting him may have just walked in his front door.

Loving the suspense of this last one. Can't wait to see how it ends.

As the air thickens with emotions, and most readers will be hoping to be drawing towards a happy ending, things get serious... and not in a good way. Just how should a woman deal with falling for a gigolo? What future can there be? Again Ms. Parker draws the reader right into the thick of the action – and plenty of it is heated and passionate!

Straight off to the final installment to find out!

Will it be the hot new neighbor Finn or the guy at the club, or someone else? There was a little twist to this book which actually made it better than all the other volumes in the series. Will Bree and Cade finally get their happily ever after or will they both just move on from their Casual Encounter?

Great ending to this series. The suspense of Cade's past. The ups and downs of the relationship between Bree and Cade. The more they had to work for it, the better it became. I do think the suspense with Sammy in this last one was unexpected and just added to the story. M.S. Parker hasn't disappointed me yet. Can't wait to see what's in store for the next series!

As the story nears completion there still seem to be a myriad of obstacles in the way of this clearly meant-to-be couple. After all, no billionaire money to solve all their problems here, life will be very different living on a teacher's salary ... Can love overcome all that stands in their way? Read on and find out.

A very satisfying series, that built a good storyline and threw in enough questions to make the reader think – and plenty of hotness to keep the reader smiling too!
