Light in the Darkness by Brandy L. Rivers Blog Tour

Sometimes light comes from the darkest shadows…

Lincoln, having been sheltered his whole life, is finally finding his path after losing his mother. Gaining confidence isn’t easy, but he can’t resist going after the woman he craves.

Victoria believes she is a monster. Her past is full of darkness and pain, horrors she would protect Lincoln from. Pushing him away proves harder than she imagined now that his heart is set on her.

A secret is revealed when a group of Other hunters come searching for Victoria, putting Lincoln in danger.

Will darkness consume Victoria? Or will Lincoln’s light show her the truth?

Dazed, Lincoln stood in front of Victoria, sure he was dead. All he could see was white light, and her beautiful dark eyes filling with tears as her mouth moved.

Then she shoved him, and the world started to come back into focus, darkness seeping into the white. “Lincoln, are you all right? Are you hurt?” she yelled.

Blinking, he rolled his shoulders and the cocoon of white flexed and unwrapped. The weight of his… Wings?

Wings!

Oh boy, they’re heavy.

His head jerked to the side as his wings stretched, white feathers shimmering in the moonlight. He couldn’t do much more than stare.

Letting go of Victoria, he stumbled back and started to fall, but on instinct his wings flapped and he found himself rising into the air.

His chest heaved in great pants that did nothing to slow his heart or calm him.

Victoria caught his hands and pulled him back to the ground with a peculiar awe-struck look on her face. “Are you hurt?” she asked softly.

“Don’t think so,” he answered lamely, afraid to move and start flying? Again. “I’m not sure what happened.” Reaching up, he felt behind him, finding where the big, powerful wings connected to him. Somehow, his shirt was fine and Lincoln wasn’t sure what to think. “How?”

“Shh,” she uttered, then reached into her car to grab her phone. “Let’s find out what the hell happened. I’ll call Slater.”

The Players: Lincoln and Victoria

The Story: Victoria has been a vampire for years and has always believed that she was evil. She knows of Lincoln's desire for her and is doing her best to quell that interest.

Plot: Lincoln has finally gotten up the nerve to invite Victoria over for dinner. When Victoria accepts, he knows his life is about to change. Taking her home something tries to harm Victoria and causes Lincoln's wings emerge for the first time.

Surprises abound in this book and it’s one of my favorites of this series.

Part of a Series: Others of Edenton

Heat Level: Scorching

FINALLY! Lincoln’s story. I have long waited to see just what or who Lincoln really is and if he will ever man up and go after his girl. Lincoln’s story starts off with a very erotic shower scene. And at no point does Mrs. River disappoint in the sex scenes, don’t like the shyness of Lincoln fool you. On top of these we meet a new big baddie and to me it for sure is one of the worst ones yet. Mrs. Rivers has a way of keeping this world fresh and evolving with a wide variety of characters and creatures. Another great read in this series for sure.

I absolutely LOVE Ms. Rivers' Others of Edenton series, and it is always such a treat when a new one is released. I have been wondering whether she has the whole series mapped out, or writes as the muse takes her, because the interplay and time shifting storylines are so brilliantly tied together. I have not read one which hasn't transported me, or made me wish I were in Edenton!

This is a really, really lovely story about two wonderful characters, and I just forewent a night's sleep because I could not stop reading. Magical! I love that old friends have such significant parts in later books, and that individuals grow and develop into their new roles. I am not a huge fan of paranormal, but as I have said before, Ms. Rivers makes the extraordinary entirely believable, which just makes me addicted to reading her work.

I cannot wait to have the time to read this series again in one go, as I am sure that the richness will be even more evident as the details stay firmly in my mind.

I've always loved books, especially about monsters and magic, so I started writing. I'm working on a prequel and the next few books in the Others of Edenton series, and I have a head full of stories to share.

I'm a stay at home mother with a wonderful husband who lets me write and write to my heart’s content.
