Whilst this may be the first in a newly numbered series, I would definitely recommend that you consider looking at the Cayuga Cougars first and ideally, the Point Shot books too – so much goodness awaits you! This is the first of many, but is also a duet with book two. I was lucky enough to read them back to back and it was a lovely treat.
Victor and Dan are such an interesting couple, so very different and yet so very, very good together. They make the confusion that surrounds them make perfect sense, and with Vic's son, Jack, spending time with them, they really are a family. So the news that things are all about to change, does a lot to disturb the equilibrium that keeps Vic's demons under control. It is so sad to watch it all like a perfect storm, bringing him down.
We really do get to experience the highs and lows with them and understand the true power of love. I love how Locey never shies away from the difficult parts of a romance, but also never lets the reader down in the end!
Very satisfying read, now to enjoy Final Shot.
