Marc Jillson & the Gazebo by Anyta Sunday Release Blitz

Want true, heart-throbbing romance? Put down the Cheetos, and stop being a jackass.

The question is, can I do it?

I’ve been an epic dick to my friends, my uncle. Him.

Travis Hunter. Photographer, econ-student, paraplegic. Can I redeem myself? Apologize? Make a fresh start?

Hunter seems to think so. Even roped me into saving his favorite gazebo from the bulldozers.

The confidence of this man amazes me. He’s no bullshit where I’m all bullshit. I throw up walls where he knocks them down.

He’s beautiful, too. Strong arms inked with hummingbirds, a wide teasing mouth, and blue eyes that read me like an open book.

He looks at me, and I look away.

These shivery feelings I have for Hunter? They can’t happen. I don’t deserve him.

Where did I put those Cheetos?

Hunter poured a red plastic cup of beer and handed it to me. “So you lured me here for a sleuthing mission?”

“You brought your computer, right? You can do the cross-referencing.”

“Is that right?”

“Yep.”

“Marc?”

“Yep?”

“You’re allowed to look at me.”

My face heated, and I hid in a slow sip of cool beer. “I’ve looked at you.” Quick glimpses. “We need to focus on finding Daisy. I’ll keep my eyes on the prize.”

“I don’t promise to do the same.”

What? I whisked toward him, gaze snagging with Hunter’s.

He smiled. “Ah, better. I rather like those pretty hazel eyes on me.”

“They’re brown. Not hazel. Definitely not pretty.”

“You’ll need to stare at me a while to verify that.”

My skin tightened. Everywhere.

5 Beautiful Stars

Marc Jillson & the Gazebo is the second installment in the Love Inscribed series, but can easily be read as a standalone. I may or may not have read the first when it was originally released, but with thousands and thousands of books in between, I'm not sure. So I can attest to how easy it was to fall into the story without the backstory. Probably would have a bit more of an emotional punch if I had read/reread just prior to this though, more like a gut-punch.

Jill is on a story of redemption to transform himself from Jack's evil sidekick to Marc, someone worthy of forgiveness, friendship, intimacy, and love. Marc is wounded, most of the wounds self-inflicted, which make them more difficult to heal from, as the only one who can heal him is himself. Jack is in prison, leaving Marc to put his life together, even if spending an entire summer playing video games sounds easier of an escape.

Hunter understands how the past can leave irreparable impact on your present and future. A paraplegic for the past few years, Hunter is now in a better mindset to understand Marc's emotional state than those who were hurt by Jack & Jill. The anonymous nature of online gaming, Hunter tried to get Marc to open up, until it was time to remove the anonymity.

To the backdrop of trying to save their college's lovers' Gazebo, hunting down the mystery of an anonymous note-sender, while writing down the love stories of others who fell in love at the Gazebo, Hunter gets Marc to shed all those layers of protection.

A beautiful, slow-burn, heartwarming story of redemption, asking for forgiveness, where the couple comes to terms with the fact that they deserve love. On the familial front, the connection between Marc and his uncle was flawlessly written with authenticity, the ache and pain and healing.

Along with the romance and friendship, there is understanding how being a paraplegic affects not just day to day life but intimacy and romance, in a compassionate yet informative fashion that will sink into the reader's soul to erase any judgments they pass on people in their everyday lives.

A bit about me: I'm a big, BIG fan of slow-burn romances. I love to read and write stories with characters who slowly fall in love. Some of my favorite tropes to read and write are: Enemies to Lovers, Friends to Lovers, Clueless Guys, Bisexual, Pansexual, Demisexual, Oblivious MCs, Everyone (Else) Can See It, Slow Burn, Love Has No Boundaries. I write a variety of stories, Contemporary MM Romances with a good dollop of angst, Contemporary lighthearted MM Romances, and even a splash of fantasy. My books have been translated into German, Italian, French, and Thai.
