Untimely You is an emotional read, more emotional than I thought it would be.

Adrian is swimming in guilt. One bad decision has ruled the last twelve years of his life. When he sees Nessy's compassion he knows he needs her in his life. Not for himself, but for a job he hires her to do. Nessy has noticed Adrian in the office, he's dark and sexy and elusive. Neesy is clumsy, and clumsy is putting it mildly. Regardless of the situation, she can trip, fall, or spill the nearest beverage. But she has a light about her that draws people in. The last thing Adrian wants is to be drawn in. He can't, but he can't stay away either.

I've read much of what Ms. Webster as written and she has a gift to be able to write what she feels. She doesn't stick to one certain genre or category. I think that is what makes her a favorite of mine. You never really know what kind of story you are going to get.

This is a hard book to review because the "prison" Adrian created for himself as mentioned in the synopsis, is central to so many issues in this book and I don't want to give it away. I will say that this book deals with an issue many of us don't like to read about. It is done in an original way and this was an aspect of the story I really liked.

There are lots of emotional ups and down in this story and the author uses humour well to help break up the heavy emotions. More than once I found myself snorting at inappropriate moments and I'm sure I'll be thinking of Neesy next time I hear a Kenny Rogers song.

The constant drama began to wear on me towards the end and little things about the story started to bug me. Adrian's violent outbursts weren't taken as seriously as I would have liked, Neesy's clumsiness started to grate and one or two of Adrian's emotional declarations were too sweet for my tastes. I guess I'd had my fill of the story.

This is the first book I've read by K. Webster and I found her writing very easy to read. While Untimely You didn't blow me away, I did enjoy it and I'd read more from this author in the future.
