Normal Enough by Marie Sexton

What is “normal”?

When Brandon Kenner shows up at Kasey Ralston’s garage with a 1970 Chevelle SS 454, Kasey is smitten by both the man and his car. But Kasey is hiding an embarrassing secret: his love for old muscle cars goes beyond what most would consider normal. His unusual fetish has kept Kasey isolated—estranged from his family and even distant from his coworkers.

But when Brandon figures out the hot mechanic’s secret, he’s not repulsed. In fact, he finds Kasey intriguing, and he’s determined to have him for himself.

Everything about Brandon revs Kasey’s engine, and he’s more than willing to get down and dirty with the charming man. What worries Kasey is what will happen after. Is there any chance of a future for them? In the past, expecting anything long-term has only led to heartbreak. But Kasey can’t help hoping that, despite Kasey’s fetish, Brandon will be the exception.

Erica☆☆☆☆
4 Kinky Car stars.

I'm going to start this review by saying I've had a pretty horrible day – the kind where you're asked if someone kicked your puppy or if your dog died – and they'd be right. I decided to read the second book in the Wrench Wars series because it was something different from what I usually read, something light I wouldn't need to concentrate on, and Marie Sexton never fails to entertain me.

The Wrench Wars TV series was muted in the background of this short, novella-sized romance. Kasey is our narrator, a lonely mechanic who doesn't wish to be involved with the program. On a random day, a guy brings in Kasey's dream car, and sparks ignite, in more ways than one.

One of the most inventive masturbation scenes follows. I won't go into detail, as I wouldn't want to spoil it, as I was jaw-dropping floored by Kasey's kink. Not only was it a kink, Ms. Sexton did a great job of incorporating how Kasey's desire began.

The mechanic and the car-enthusiast lawyer – together, Kasey and Brandon were a good fit, and I enjoyed watching Kasey come out of his shell on the pages.

Definitely recommend to fans of MM romance, car-lovers, and of Marie Sexton. I can't wait for the next installment (fingers crossed there will be).

This is the second in the series, and I enjoyed it a great deal. Wrench Wars is a TV series, set in a garage – but the lead in this book is one of those who does not want to be on screen. so works to the side, and has to remember to avoid the cameras if he can.

Kasey loves old cars, and due to spending a lot of time in them when he was a teenager, he associates them with desire – something he is rather embarrassed about! When someone comes with one of his favourite classic cars, he is turned on by the car, but also the man. Luckily Brandon finds him equally appealing and the fun starts there. There are some lovely humorous moments, and some rather poignant ones too. Overall this is a hot and sexy read with a good plot and a desirable outcome.

Definitely a worthwhile read, thank you Ms. Sexton.

MARIE SEXTON lives in Colorado. She’s a fan of just about anything that involves muscular young men piling on top of each other. In particular, she loves the Denver Broncos and enjoys going to the games with her husband. Her imaginary friends often tag along. Marie has one daughter, two cats, and one dog, all of whom seem bent on destroying what remains of her sanity. She loves them anyway.
