Lumberjack Weekend by Heather Rainier

Violet Tyler's heart was broken after discovering she was the third wheel in her big-city ménage. Relegating the idea of being loved by two or more men to fantasy material, she throws her heart and soul into her business, Violet's Emporium.

Watching from the sidelines while they renovate her emporium, Josh and Lucas Abbott want her more every day and see the way her former lover chips away at her heart each time he pays her a visit. They've stretched out the renovation as long as they can and finally it's time to claim her or let her go.

Invitations to a fantasy weekend at Hazelle House give the three of them a no-strings-attached chance to make her lumberjack ménage fantasies a reality. But when the weekend is over and the real world - and her former lover - come calling, can her ménage fantasy live in the light of day?

Another wonderful installment in the Divine Creek Ranch series.

Violet loves Divine, loves the shop she has opened there and generally loves the life she has created there. The only thing missing, is a man to call her own. She's gun-shy after the way her last relationship ended and who can blame her? Hearing one of the two men in her life, her lovers, talking about her in a way that made her feel 2 inches tall and the other lamely trying to defend her, destroyed what self-confidence she had in herself.

Even in Divine where relationships tend to be outside the norm, she doesn't feel safe in dating one person much less trying a ménage again.

Josh and Lucas Abbott have had their eyes on Violet since she first came to town, but are hesitant to ask her out again after being turned down once before. Not that they let her out of their sights very often. Lusting after her from near and far, they often find a way to be close to her, even if it is doing odd jobs at her store.

When Violet receives an invitation for a fantasy weekend, she decides to take a chance and attend. Little does she know her two admirers will be in attendance.

I LOVED this book. Ms. Rainier has written Violet in such a way that every woman can relate to her. At some time in our lives we've all struggled with body image issues, difficult break ups and trying to hold on to something you know is bad for you. The hardest thing is putting oneself out there again, of trusting another with your heart and soul, of simply taking a chance that there is someone out there who will love you as much you love them.

The Abbott brothers are the right mix of strength and tenderness, of daring and traditional, of light and dark. They make a girl want to take a chance, to see the love in their eyes and take that uncertain step into the future.

Heather Rainier lives and writes in South Central Texas. Her stories offer up the content of her fantasies, with autobiographical humor, triumph and tragedy mixed in. With great pride, Heather writes erotic romances exclusively for Siren Publishing, under their Ménage Everlasting and Everlasting Classic imprints.

Heather's love of romance fiction began as a teenager when her mom gave her copies of Kathleen Woodiwiss's The Flame and the Flower and Bertrice Small's Skye O'Malley. To this day she's pretty sure that was her mom's version of the "birds and the bees" talk.

Heather writes the type of novel she loves to read: More erotic and edgy than the mainstream, with plenty of sweet romance mixed in and a happily ever after guaranteed. Heather's favorite type of hero is the gentle, lovable giant but readers will discover a wide variety of heroes and alphas on the pages of her novels, from nearly perfect to very flawed. Heather hopes that readers relate to her heroines and the challenges and dilemmas they face head on.

Heather believes that life doesn’t always present love to us in neat little sanitized packages. Sometimes we have to seize the day, live life with no regrets, forget the past, never give up, learn to trust, and dare to live, even in outrageous circumstances. Those themes are woven throughout her Divine Creek Ranch Collection which debuted in November of 2010.

When not happily typing at her keyboard, Heather is usually busy corralling her kids, volunteering as a reading tutor, or loving on her smokin’ hot husband, who thankfully loves to cook.

  1. Mary Jo thank you so very much for your sweet review of Lumberjack Weekend. I wanted Violet to be a character readers could relate to, especially in the sense of longing to try something new, something outside anything she'd ever experience. And isn't it true that often we are our own worst enemies, holding on to things that hurt us even when we don't see it. I'm so happy you connected with her on a heart level and I thank you for the five star review. it means the world to me. <3
