Corbin’s Bend – Vintage Values by Maggie Ryan

Known for her lively spirit and the eclectic selection of merchandise at her antique shop, Quincy Lauder is a much beloved member of Corbin’s Bend. On a shopping trip to find more goodies for her store, she runs into a stranger who affects her like no man has since her husband died. So far from home, she tries not to think too much about him. Until she runs into him at another venue.

Henry Hopkins is intrigued by the woman he's now met twice. She is never far from his mind as he makes the move from Texas to the special community of Corbin's Bend. When he walks into a backyard barbeque only to find she’s a resident of his new community, he feels like he’s won the lottery... especially when her behavior wins her a trip over his knee.

More than sparks fly between them until one question remains. Will Corbin’s Bend’s resident matchmaker give herself the freedom of making her own match?

I am a very big fan of the Corbin’s Bend series, and this is most definitely a winning episode. Ever since Abby and Harris got together thanks to Quincy, I have been certain that she too deserved to find love again.

It was great to catch up with Abby, and her wonderful relationship with her aunt. That their trip to Texas to find treasures for their antique business leads to another treasure entirely. I loved the level of coincidence, and how the story is revealed both to us and to them. Whilst their relationship speeds along, that works because as older experienced people, it makes sense, both romantically and also HoH/TiH sense. The scenes are funny as well as very caring, and Quincy's friends chip in with their help. I loved the ending – and I loved the descriptions of the period costumes. Perfect lazy Sunday morning reading – I shall be in a good mood all day.

Thank you Ms. Ryan for a lovely, sexy story about two older folk finding love and fulfilment with each other.

This was a sweet love story. I loved how the characters were older and still had the attitude of a younger person, they weren’t complaining of their hips hurting, they were living life and enjoying themselves. I have always enjoyed Quincy so I am glad she finally found Henry. I wish I could have seen some of the outfits that Quincy wore to the reenactment, they sounded amazing! The whole book was sweet and cute and you couldn’t help but love the two.

Vintage Values proves that age is just a number and love can be found at any age/any stage in life. Sometimes love comes along at a time when it is unexpected but no less welcomed.

Quincy has been alone since the death of her husband and she's been the matchmaker of Corbin's Bend for quite a while now, helping others find the love that she once shared with the man of her dreams. Now, however, it seems that fate has put a man in path that will change the course of her life.

She's happy running her little shop with her niece, Abby, and enjoying the time they spend together hunting "finds" for her antique shop. During one of their shopping trips, she meets a man named Henry who isn't far from her thoughts. Granted, one or two chance meetings is all it is as they will soon head home to Corbin's Bend, but there is something about him...

Henry is intrigued by the woman he stumbles upon at a couple of estate sales as he makes his way across the country to his new home in Corbin's Bend. Imagine his surprise to find out she lives just a few streets over. The connection he felt with her strengthens immediately and he welcomes the chance to get to know Quincy even better.

I enjoyed reading Quincy's story and the how love can find you at any age – usually when you are least expecting it.

I have always loved the power of words and getting lost in another world. Bringing characters to life in a book so that you feel you know them is something I love doing. When not writing, I love reading curled up in a chair with huge mug of coffee.

I write mainly historical, age-play, fantasy & Victorian spanking romances.
