Former cop Vic Fallon is content to live in Sandusky, Ohio,
on his disability settlement and take the occasional private eye job when he
isn’t fishing. He doesn’t really want to get involved in a missing persons
case, but when Amy Bergen arrives from Tennessee looking for her estranged
husband who’s avoiding divorce court, Vic is taken in by her southern charm and
agrees to help her. His search brings him into contact with a local gangster
wannabe, a crooked cop and a gambling syndicate. When another woman shows up
claiming to be the missing man’s wife, the case takes a bizarre turn. Can Vic
find the wayward husband before all of his wives catch up with him? Will his

This book was a quick read and was reminiscent of an "old school" Detective Story.
Vic Fallon is a quick witted, one-liner slinging detective who is hired by a distraught to-be ex-wife who can't locate her husband to finish the divorce paperwork.
The mystery aspect was interesting and kept me interested. I liked this portion of the story – and I was constantly trying to figure out what was going on.
Although I liked the characters (they were believable and realistic), I wasn't sold on the chemistry between Vic and Amy. Their banter was entertaining, but the erotic aspects felt forced and left me "wanting."
Overall, this was a quick story full of suspense, decent characters, some budding romance, and a few scenes of erotica.

The Dirty Blonde is a good old fashion detective story with a little sex and romance on the side. I enjoyed following Vic Fallon as he solved the mystery of what happen to his client's missing husband. The story has a very laid back feel but was never dull. This was a quick easy read. I'll definitely continue with this series. If you like mystery give this a go.
