A Stone in the Sea by A.L. Jackson Dual Media Review

Sunder lead singer Sebastian Stone is no stranger to trouble.

It follows him wherever he goes.

From his track record, he should have known Shea Bentley would be a problem. But the soft, innocent Southern girl was all he could see. All he wanted to see. Now they’re both drowning in a sea of desire, sinking hopelessly into a world of lust, and their passion refuses to let them up for air.

No matter how much he wants that to be enough… Shea has an inescapable past. One she would do anything to keep running from.

But some secrets never die.

If her history is dragged from the depths, it could tear his world apart. He has to decide if she’s worth fighting the tide or if they should just sink like a stone in the sea.

I'll admit I picked this book up because of WHO the NARRATORS were over who the author was. I absolutely adore Andi Arndt and Sebastian York! They make a wonderful pair to listen to, so I really had no idea what I was getting into when it came to the actual story, but I am SO glad I picked it!

Sebastian and Shea are so different. They lead completely different lives, but there is just something that draws them to each other, even when they don't want it to. They both have secrets and struggles to deal with in their lives that make them being together difficult, but as the story progresses, we find there are some things that actually link them in the strangest of ways.

The plot and characters of this story were just fantastic. I loved every second of it! My heart was completely broken at the end of the story and I just HAD to have the second book... right away, which I was thankful it was available so I could jump right in!

Oh, and I have to add that there were some super-hot scenes in the story that simply added to the excellence!

I've never read this author before but found this on a blog site as a freebie and picked it up. I was very pleasantly surprised! This book really sucked me into the characters! Sebastian (aka Baz) is the lead singer of the heavy metal group Sunder, and the band is on hiatus in Savannah after Baz is hit with assault charges on the band’s old manager. Taking a break and laying low, the Sunder boys are just hanging out incognito. Baz happens into a country bar in town where Shea is a waitress. Shea has no idea who Sebastian is or even who the band Sunder is. The two are definitely attracted to each other but Baz isn't there to start up a romance, and Shea has to think about her life and her daughter first and foremost. She doesn't have time for dating or distractions. The cat and mouse the two play is a fun chase to read. When they finally do give in to each other, detonation! WOW! For me, the chemistry is definitely great with these two! I found the writing style a bit over the top with flowery prose and overemoting, but that wasn't always a bad thing?? At times, I wanted to copy and paste paragraphs because they were so prettily written. I really enjoyed the hot and heavy bedroom scenes and Sebastian was quite a sexy, alpha male. I found the use of the three words that the author would use quite frequently a bit of useless filler... things like "Wanting. Wanting. Wanting." "Needing. Needing. Needing." Really useless stuff. But again, not horrible. Just definitely overused. There's a large twist at the end that I didn't see coming, so the story is not what I'd call predictable. I'd definitely try the next book!

A.L. Jackson is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of contemporary and new adult romance.

She first found a love for writing during her days as a young mother and college student. She filled the journals she carried with short stories and poems used as an emotional outlet for the difficulties and joys she found in day-to-day life.

Years later, she shared a short story she’d been working on with her two closest friends and, with their encouragement, this story became her first full length novel. A.L. now spends her days writing in Southern Arizona where she lives with her husband and three children.
