I shouldn't have agreed to this. What was I thinking?
Appearing on a local news show? Just because something happened to me?

This is another great story. I really like how Tijan has been able to have characters from other books grow into adulthood. You still sometimes hear about those past characters too, which I love.

Billie is not someone who likes attention. She's stayed out of the light for so long and with good reason. She's the one who survived something so horrific that most people would have crawled away to hide the rest of their lives.

Brett is a larger than life persona. He lives and breathes his family and football. He knows that he came from a dark past – his family is still somewhat trapped there, but he's made a good life for himself. When his family is threatened, he will stop at nothing to make sure they are protected.

Meeting at the TV station was a fluke. Brett was there, but he was not the leading story – Billie was. These two have an immediate attraction. Almost like an insta-love, but not.

I liked watching these two maneuver their own misgivings and insecurities to find out whether or not they could find a new normal. With danger lurking in every corner, and people threatening everyone they love, it will take everyone in the community and their lives to find the culprit and stop the fear.

This is a gripping story and while I did figure it out, it was still a great story.
