Summer
Jones only wants three things in life:
1. Keep her house plants alive.
2. Open a beautiful bed-and-breakfast.
3. Never see or speak to Beckett Valentine again.
None of those things are currently possible.
Summer Jones and Beckett Valentine are rivals and have never wanted the same
things in life except for the newly for sale Horseshoe Creek Ranch. Summer
thought her dreams of building a B&B would finally come true until her number
one enemy decides he wants the land, too. Beckett plays dirty and refuses to
give her what she wants—a common theme in their relationship—and the dream of
acquiring the property turns into a living nightmare.
They might’ve been at each other’s throats since they were teens, but the
stakes have never been so high. And right now, she's more determined than ever
to take down her best friend’s older brother—cowboy boots and all.
Bless Your Heart is a small town, enemies-to-lovers, grumpy/sunshine,
best friend’s older brother, contemporary southern romance with a guaranteed
happily ever after.
Warning: This book contains tons of Southern sass, sarcasm, and lots of spice!
Fade to black is not included.

This is the first book in a new series, and given that the numerous Valentine
siblings all seem averse to settling down, or are too young, I think that we
can settle in for a nice long run of books from this particular location!
There is plenty of small town chat and giving us the lie of the land, but at
its heart, this book revolves around two super stubborn people who cannot see
the obvious in front of their face. And by that, I mean both that they are
clearly in denial of their romantic feelings for each other, but also the
simple answer to the problem of the ranch that they both want (for totally
different parts of it). I found that mildly frustrating – along with some of
the Valentine clan – but it worked to emphasise their stubbornness!
I felt that they capitulated very quickly once they accepted their true
feelings, but it was also very enjoyable to see them give in to their chemistry
– and explore their evident compatibility! I am looking forward to the next
installment.

Bless Your Heart is the first book in the Valentine Texas series and it
starts with an enemies-to-lovers story of Summer and Beckett. These two have a
long, antagonistic history that goes back to when they were in high school.
Fuel is added to the fire when the farm next door to Summer’s family home goes
up for sale. She wants to buy it to start a B&B and Beckett was to buy it
to expand his business.
I loved the banter between these two. Even though they bicker and fight, it is
clear they are both denying their attraction to each other. Sparks fly when
they are near each other. I love that even their family and friends tell them
they need to get a room. But my favourite thing about this story is that even
though I could see where the story was going to end up, I had no idea how it
was going to get there.
Beckett and Summer’s journey from enemies to lovers is good fun and incredibly
hot. The two of them together felt natural and easy. Bless Your Heart is
a great start to a new series. I’m looking forward to reading book two in this
series, featuring Kinsley, Summer’s best friend.
