Carson by Melissa Foster Blog Tour

Second chances really do exist...

As the founder of a multimillion-dollar international security business, Carson Bad exposes secrets for a living. He knows better than to forge relationships built on them. But for years he did just that with his best friend, and secret lover, Tawny Bishop. She brought a sense of calm and understanding to his life—in and out of the bedroom. Until one fateful night when a knock at the door changed everything.

Tawny is no longer a naive college student. She’s a sought-after perfumer living in Paris. She has plenty of resources at her fingertips, and lots of lonely nights to think about the only man she’s ever loved—the one she ran away from all those years ago. She needs to move forward with her life, but how can she when Carson still owns her heart?

Maybe showing up in the middle of the night unannounced isn’t the best route to unraveling the past and figuring out her future, but Tawny has played it safe for ten long years, and it's only made her long for the man she never should have walked away from. Now she's back in Carson’s life, and he’s determined not to make the same mistake twice. If only he knew what that mistake was…

With her heart in her throat, she lifted her gaze, and lost her breath at the sight of the strikingly handsome man who had once been her lover and best friend standing a few feet away with his brother, Brett. She’d met Brett once when he’d come to visit Carson at college.

Her attention moved swiftly back to Carson, and she was unable to look away. His white dress shirt was rolled up to his elbows, revealing muscular forearms, and tucked into perfectly tailored dark slacks. He was broader now, tall, and sturdy. A big, beautiful man with the classic good looks of a 1950s movie star. He raked a hand through his short hair, laughing at something Brett must have said. His familiar laughter made her knees weak.

Please look over.

No. Don’t.
Her heart might explode.

Wait. Yes, look over.

Oh God

What was she doing? She was a professional, educated woman. She should not be weak-kneed over the sight of a man. But apparently her body didn’t get the memo, because her pulse skyrocketed, and she could barely breathe. She gripped the handle of her suitcase tighter, using it for balance. Carson turned, his chiseled features softened by the hint of a five-o’clock shadow. Their eyes connected, and his brows knitted, his jaw tensed.

Disappointment clutched her. Didn’t he recognize her? Or did he? Was he angry? She should walk away, but she was pinned in place by his riveting gaze.

4.5 stars

In the other books in the series, Carson Bad was the brother that never brought a date along, never picked up a girl at a bar, and didn't do relationships. He is the founder of the multimillion-dollar international security business and works with his brother Brett, who is the joker and playboy of the family. Carson does his job well but his heart belongs to the one that ran from him and her feelings 10 years ago.

Tawny Bishop is tired of running and tired of not being with the man she loves, who owns her heart and soul. After running from her feelings 10 years ago, she has realized that what they shared wasn't wrong, it was perfect for them. It didn't matter what others might have thought.

Now Tawny is back to see if Carson remembers her. She hasn't even thought that he might be married. But when he sees her, she thinks he is mad, but why would he be mad? Carson is blown away by the fact that his Tawny is standing right in front of him. And he will do everything to keep her this time. But she is only in town for a few days.

Can he make her see that they were meant to be together? Can she forgive herself for leaving him all those years ago? Will she leave him again and go back to Paris where she now lives?

I am loving these Bad brothers, although I think Mick is still my favorite, Carson is a close second. This story is perfect from the beginning and ends that way. It is sweet with past heartbreak and a love to last forever. If you haven't read Melissa Foster yet, then pick one, any one and you can't go wrong, she is awesome and I will read anything from her.

Avid Reader☆☆☆☆
This is the first book that I've read in this series, however, I didn't really feel that you needed to read the previous books in order to understand what was happening here.

This was a sweet second chance romance. Tawny and Carson have a past – it's full of love, friendship, and sweaty sex. They met in college and were instantly friends. However, something happened and after they had become more than that, Tawny ran and Carson never really developed relationships with anyone else.

When you see the past and the present mixed in a story, it's sometimes hard to keep them separated. They were different people and I really liked how you saw glimpses through their experiences.

Questioning what you desire became what Tawny ran from. She wanted safe and predictable and when she was with Carson, she felt out of control and unsteady. From Carson's perspective, he loved what he and Tawny had, but he also knew that he had a reputation and when there was a miscommunication, he lost Tawny for a long time.

Seeing these two come back together and the love they share and chemistry was a fun read. I hope to read more of these brothers and really liked how Foster told this story.

Once again Ms. Foster delivers a totally enchanting, wickedly sexy, and totally fulfilling read!

The third in the Bad Boys series, we now get to understand why Carson has been so closed off and reserved – his life has been in a holding pattern, but now that he is free to fly, well he is not letting Tawny get away again!

I loved the intensity, the honesty, and the guilt-free happiness of these two people, clearly destined to be together. Clever use of the past, of family, and of things that truly matter bring their romance and their passion into sharp definition for the reader – and yet there is enough left to the imagination to make it tantalising until the very end. Catching up with old friends from previous books is always an important part of these books, and gave Tabs the connections that she needed and had been missing.

Delicious from beginning to end – thank you again, Ms. Foster, for filling my head with such lovely words and friends!
