The first bit of good news is that this is the first in a new series – and given how much fun the twist is in this book, I am really looking forward to future installments.

Darcy finds himself, almost by chance, in a career as a boyfriend for hire, and whether it is a male or female hirer, his wit and charm will see them through their moment of need. I really like how clear the setup is and the rather wonderful standards the service sets.

In this particular instance, accompanying medical researcher Abby to a family wedding results in him meeting her brother, Adrian, and falling quickly for the man. As we watch the wedding "week" progress, the clear interest between them along with Abby's desire to hide away and work, means that they spend time getting to know each other as well as suppressing the chemistry. Thanks to that and some other family drama, they get the time to think a little harder about what this would really mean in the longer term – which I liked.

For a quick, yet slow burn romance, with some lovely, lovely humour, this was a highly enjoyable read.

I liked the premise of the story, however, it just didn't hit the mark for me. Most of the book was about Abby and Darcy, but this is a M/M book and I don't want to wait until the book is almost over for Darcy and Adrian to get together. There were some funny parts and banter. The family issues reminded me of a real-life family, especially when I wanted to smack a few people. I just found myself wanting more Darcy and Adrian and less Abby and the wedding crap. I am sure others will enjoy this read, but for me it was just okay.

This is such a fun read. The addition of a few modern twists to classic romance novel tropes creates a story that is warm, charming, and often very funny. This is a light read that kept me smiling from start to finish.

The story an escort who falls for his date’s brother is a twist on a romance classic, but the quirky characters keep the book feeling fresh and I fell hard for both Darcy and Adrian. As a retired Army Lieutenant, Darcy isn’t your average male escort and he’s a perfect match for Adrian, a reluctant member of an important New York family. Adrian’s scientist sister Abby is also wonderful – I love it when m/m romance includes interesting and nuanced female characters.

This is an entertaining romantic comedy. It’s a low heat story with lots of charm and very little angst. I enjoyed the gentle observations of Adrian and Abby’s family and I love that all the characters are more than they first seem. I thoroughly enjoyed this easy, charming read. While this story is quite different to most of the recent books I’ve read by these authors, it was a pleasant surprise and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

RJ’s goal is to write stories with a heart of romance, a troubled road to reach happiness, and most importantly, that hint of a happily ever after.

RJ is the author of the over one hundred novels and discovered romance in books at a very young age. She realized that if there wasn’t romance on the page, she could create it in her head, and is a lifelong writer.

She lives and works out of her home in the beautiful English countryside, spends her spare time reading, watching films, and enjoying time with her family.

The last time she had a week’s break from writing she didn’t like it one little bit and has yet to meet a bottle of wine she couldn’t defeat.

She’s always thrilled to hear from readers, bloggers and other writers.
