I’ve read several books in Melissa Foster’s The Bradens & Montgomerys series and I’ve always been impressed with how easily Foster is able to lure me into her stories! I have been looking forward to finally getting the inside scoop on Trace Jericho and Brindle Montgomery for several books now and I simply adored reading their story! Brindle’s character is so fiercely independent, and it was so great to see how her relationship has evolved over the years with Trace. Having read about several of the Montgomery sisters, it was great to finally read Brindle’s story because I’ve been dying to get all the details on these two characters since I first started reading this series!
Trace Jericho and Brindle Montgomery have been on-and-off again for years and no matter how much they fight, they always find their way back to each other. But when Brindle returns from her trip to Paris clearly pregnant, everything suddenly changes.
This series can easily be read as part of a series or just as a standalone, but I really enjoyed reading about all of Foster’s incredible characters and how they weave back into the story. I always enjoy being able to catch up with characters from the previous books when they find their way into the next story!
5 stars for Melissa Foster’s Wild, Crazy Hearts.

This is one of many interwoven books by the very talented Melissa Foster – there are always stories which overlap, characters who we've met before, or whose stories are just waiting to be written down. This richness makes for a wonderful experience when picking up a new book, as one's mind connects the dots and remembers much loved snippets of previous reads. It is a wholly immersive and very pleasurable adventure. But the fun of this series is the sisters who sneak out in the pre-dawn to go and watch the Jericho brothers and friends ride, like wild things... and finally, Brindle and Trace get their chance.
The funny thing about this story is that not only can we rely on Melissa Foster to give us an ending we want, but in this case the leads are already in a relationship – and it would seem that the only people who haven't worked this out over the last many, many years are Trace and Brindle. In fact, they seem to have riled each other up with regular breaks and claims of casual hook-ups. But the truth is far from what they have been admitting to each other when it comes to their feelings for each other. In Trace's case, because Brindle has always been very vocal in her dislike of marriage, societal norms, etc.
Brindle went to Paris alone to decide how she could admit to herself and then everyone else, but especially Trace, how her views have changed. The fact that she discovers that she is indeed pregnant and really needs to know that she wants to be with him for the right reasons is a clear indication that she has in fact grown up. Sadly, her mouth doesn't catch up with her brain or heart and she makes a real hash of things on her return.
It is positively cringe-worthy as she digs herself deeper and deeper into one unguarded, angry denial – Foster does a great job of piling it on, and yet making it seem so utterly plausible. I was wincing in sympathy as she did it again and again!
I loved catching up with all the family and friends we have met in previous books, and their influence on the pair is quite important in bringing the couple to the place where they can finally be best friends, lovers, and permanent fixtures in each other’s lives.

Trace and Brindle have been dancing around each other for years. Trace knows that Brindle is a free spirit and doesn't want to be the one that clips her wings. Brindle cares about Trace but knows that he's not one to settle down but that's not her dream either.
Until it is.
Two stubborn people now have to figure out how to come to terms with the ultimate game changer and learn how to trust each other with how they really feel.

M/F Romance
I'm glad that I had read the previous books in the series, as there are several characters who reappear in Brindle and Trace's story.
With that being stated, I was disappointed in Brindle's story. She was kind of the wild child that everyone knew, testing limits. But when she goes to Paris to find her answers, coming home and having to face Trace again, I found her story very ho-hum.
Trace is still doing what he's always done. It didn't really seem that he developed much during this story. While I can appreciate that his love for Brindle grew over the years, he was very one dimensional in this story.
Brindle and Trace are trying to grow up. They know that their ability to communicate is somewhat broken, so they vow to fix how they figure out problems. While their chemistry is okay, it's not the steamy hookups that I was used to.
Overall, while this is a sweet, second-chance romance, it just didn't really pan out for me. I found myself skimming over a lot of the middle because it felt redundant. However, I am looking forward to the next book.
