Great start to a new series – I am really looking forward to my fix every two weeks for the next 22 weeks! The set up in this installment has me completely hooked, and in addition to the Man of the Month competition, there is the new romance born in this book and the promise of plenty more chemistry to come! We get the world building done in a subtle and effective manner, but with plenty of mysteries to be revealed as we go along. I love that we know the format from the get go, as it deepens the investment, no doubts at all.

In this book we get the stories of Reece, Brent, and Jenna – best friends forever, but suddenly two of them realise that their feelings have morphed into something much more intense. Both fear losing the three musketeers-like friendship they enjoy now. We get both their points of viewpoint, their worries, and their hopes. Thankfully they come to their senses, and are helped to know it is the right decision by their friends. Some of these are unexpected sources of support – for example, Megan! Brilliant twist to that introduction of a character.

As we get to see them struggle with their feelings, how the third reacts, and how love wins out, we also learn about the problems with The Fix, the bar that is important to them all.
