Ah, I can’t even with how much I adore this series. I’m not usually a paranormal fan, but I love Rachel Van Dyken enough to have given this one a chance – and I’m so loving it! The author does a brilliant job, especially as both the main characters are not the most likable characters in the last book. I’d definitely say this can be read as a standalone, but as the first book was one of my all-time favorite books ever, I highly recommend reading it first! This one isn't quite as great as book one was but still a solid four stars!

Cassius has given up his immortality to save Stephanie and has been granted 30 days to get her to fall in love with him as a human. Cassius’s past comes back to haunt him and makes things between him and Stephanie even more complicated – if that’s even possible once Stephanie’s true identity is publicized. The chemistry between the two is off the charts, and once they’re together things really heat up!

I’m not a fan, at all, of flashbacks, but I did like the way the author does them in this book; it was necessary for the full understanding of the story and they’re short enough that you’re not just skimming through trying to get back to the “meat” of the book. I love that each book in this series not only focuses on the two main characters, but you also get more than just a glimpse of the other characters; they’re all living together in one house, so we got to see a lot of the main characters from the previous book as well as characters from future books. This is a super fast paced book – I couldn’t put it down! Can’t wait for the next book in the series!
