Rain and Whiskey by BA Tortuga

Galen Frost buys a house and a bait shop in a small Florida town to get away from his life as a semipro football player. When he meets good-time bartender Shane Barton, the heat between them is instant and intense—like the burn of good whiskey.

Galen and Shane don’t have much in common beyond their healthy libidos and their love of a good time, but the intoxicating heat brings them together like rain on the ocean, whipping up a frenzy of weather… good and bad. When trouble blows ashore, they will have to ride out the storm that breaks between them as Galen’s past rears its ugly head.

Angie☆☆☆
I liked this book but didn’t feel like I connected with any of the characters. I didn’t know much about them. I liked them but wanted more. Don’t get me wrong, I love sex in books, I didn’t think there could ever be too much, I was wrong. There was too much sex and not enough of anything else in this book. I wanted a story, I wanted more of a connection, not just hot steamy sex. I will read the next book just to see if things go in deeper with these two though.

Characters: Didn’t connect with them
Sex: Oh yeah!
Religious: No
Would I recommend to others: Yes
More than one book in the series: Yes
Genre: M/M Romance
Would I read more by this author: Yes

This is a story which is, initially at least, light on relationship, but heavy on the sexual exploits of two men who first meet in a bar. Shane is a barman who lives for a good time, and realises that Galen may be a man who eclipses any other options. Galen is in a comfortable retirement from football, running a bait shop, and now slightly obsessed with Shane.

An enjoyable read, slightly different from the usual BA Tortuga storyline, but still good.

Texan to the bone and an unrepentant Daddy's Girl, BA spends her days with her basset hounds, getting tattooed, texting her sisters, and eating Mexican food. When she's not doing that, she's writing. She spends her days off watching rodeo, knitting and surfing Pinterest in the name of research. BA's personal saviors include her wife, Julia, her best friend, Sean, and coffee. Lots of good coffee.
