I couldn't concentrate. Shit, I could barely function. Thoughts of Charli consumed my mind—her gorgeous eyes, the way she looked at me when I came out of that room and our gaze met. I hadn't planned on going to the Mandarin yet or being there when she arrived. I had things to do, but I couldn't stay away. I couldn't not see her. The attraction was too strong.

That was what she did to me. She made me lose focus on the world and see only her.

In only the short time we'd been together, she'd gotten under my skin like no one else, even Jo. I'd never fallen so fast or so hard. I didn't do drugs, never had. WOW! Cunning was even better (if that's possible) then Betrayal.

The first book ended on quite a cliff-hanger, which was quickly addressed at the beginning of this book. Charli/Alex and Knox/Demetri have quite the dynamic – their chemistry is off the charts hot, but their personalities have so many facets it's mind-boggling.

This book is just so hard to review – there is so much going on, but at the same time discussing ANYTHING is going to spoil the story.

So, what I will say is that more secrets are uncovered – while answers are found, but as we dig deeper we see the similarities between Alex and her mother (whom I, for some reason, have vilified in my mind). Things just aren't as they seem, and as more information is uncovered more questions are popping up.

Who is the bad guy? Who are the good guys? What is really going on? Can Knox and Charli overcome all the adversity?

I can't wait for the next installment!!

Cunning picks up right where Betrayal left me on that delicious cliff hanger. The questions of Betrayal are immediately answered, but you end up having more questions than answers by the time you get to the end. I love the flow of this series. It's twisted and fast paced, you don't know who exactly to pin as the enemy but you are suddenly questioning everyone's integrity and where loyalties lie.

Lennox/Nox and Alex/Charli are a fascinating pair. They are sexy and erotic and so unpredictable. Everything you thought you knew, goes out the window. The emotional roller coaster Cunning takes you on is a wonderful suspense filled ride. There is no warm up into this story, it pulls you in from the first sentence.

I can't wait for the next installment. I need more Nox & Charli in my life.
