Party girl. Art thief. All around bad girl. It’s what all the newspapers call socialite and heiress Kate Sparrow. It’s all untrue. Kate’s been set up and she’s following the orders of the FBI to get the real criminal, her father. She’ll have to put up with her sister, the wedding fiasco, and her own fears that someone is after her, trying to stop her to get what she needs to prove her innocence.

Doctor Daniel Collins joins his brothers on a cruise to the wedding of his young cousin. His cousin begs him to keep a close watch on the bride’s sister, Kate. He's to keep her from ruining the wedding.

Kate doesn’t trust Daniel's help in her life, but the man’s interference is blocking a few problems. She lets him. After all, he spent a few years in the military and having a friend like Daniel is nice. But when her fears become true, someone is after her, pretending to be in a relationship with the sexy doctor has its benefits. What she hadn’t planned was opening her heart to trusting him. But if she doesn’t open up, she’s going to lose out on far more than her life, she’d lose out on love.

Veronica☆☆☆
Borrowing the Doctor is fast paced romance. Kate is trying to clear her name after her father set her up to take the fall for an art theft. When she meets Dr. Daniel Collins he can see through her party girl facade and sparks fly.

Kate and Daniel had good chemistry and they are fun together. Someone is trying to kidnap and kill Kate and I enjoyed following the mystery and having mystery and action mixed in with the romance, the majority of which is set on a cruise ship.

You will have to suspend your disbelief a little at times when it comes to how companies are actually owned and operate and how medicine works but by that point in the story I was having a good time so I didn't mind so much.

I would suggest the book needs to be edited further. Several times poorly structured sentences interrupted the flow of the story and so did the repetition of certain phrases.

Overall though, Borrowing the Doctor was an enjoyable story.

This is an enjoyable story about a spoilt heiress and an ex-marine doctor. They meet due to a wedding on a cruise, and a complicated plot ensues. I liked the underlying story, but in places the story seemed disjointed, and implausible (well, even more implausible than other action romances!) I would read more by the author as she has some interesting ideas.

Victoria Pinder grew up in Irish Catholic Boston before moving to the Miami sun. She's worked in engineering, after passing many tests proving how easy Math came to her. Then hating her life at the age of twenty four, she decided to go to law school. Four years later, after passing the bar and practicing very little, she realized that she hates the practice of law. She refused to one day turn 50 and realize she had nothing but her career and hours at a desk. After realizing she needed change, she became a high school teacher. Teaching is rewarding, but writing is a passion.

During all this time, she always wrote stories to entertain herself or calm down. Her parents are practical minded people demanding a job, and Victoria spent too many years living other people's dreams, but when she sat down to see what skill she had that matched what she enjoyed doing, writing became so obvious. The middle school year book when someone wrote in it that one day she'd be a writer made sense when she turned thirty.

Besides her full time job of teaching, in 2013 and 2014, she on her own sold books to three different publishers. The Zoastra Affair, Chaperoning Paris, Borrowing the Doctor, and Electing Love will be published from Soul Mate Publishing. Mything the Throne will be published with Double Dragon Ebooks. Favorite Coffee, Favorite Crush will be published with Jupiter Press.

Now she is represented by Dawn Dowdle of Blue Ridge Literary Agency and she hopes to continue selling her novels that she writes. Moving up to the next level from hard work and determination is rewarding, and partnerships bring new opportunities.

Also she's the Vice President of Programs for the Florida Romance Writers. She's gone to multiple conferences and intends to continue. She learns and meets so many people at conferences. Her website is here and she'll continue to grow her web presence. She is working hard on other projects and found the time to plan her wedding this year.

Before writing, her father had taken her to many star trek conventions and on her own she grew up as the only girl in the 90s at the comic book store. Science Fiction was her first love, but contemporary romance was her second. She's sticking with contemporaries for the near future.
