And the more time I spend with Ronan Michaels, the more I realize maybe he isn’t the bad guy after all.
But why do I feel like he’s hiding something or protecting someone?
Or both?

My Angel Gabriel has a devil on his shoulder.
He’s not a sinner—but certainly no saint.
He’s been lied to and abandoned. Hurt by people who should love him no matter what.
Gabriel’s discovered my secrets, yet the more I push him away, the closer he stands by my side.
And when his past crumbles, leaving him searching for answers, I’m right there for him, holding his hand.
Holding him up.
Because love is catching someone when they fall.
And never letting go.

Ronan Michaels is a convicted felon. He is released from prison after serving six years of a ten-year sentence for embezzlement. When he's released, he isn't expecting the protestors to be camped out outside his apartment daily. What he did expect was to see his sister and brother-in-law. Promises that were made before prison haven't been and weren't followed. Ronan feels like a prisoner in his own house and attacked on the street, so he hires a bodyguard after he came to his rescue.

Gabriel walked away from his job with a senator that was caught cheating on his wife and doesn't know what to do now that the senator is blackballing him. Taking some time for himself, he witnesses Ronan get attacked outside his apartment. Knowing he can't just walk away, he offers him help and his services, if needed. When Ronan calls after he receives an exploding package, and he hears the fear in his voice, Gabriel agrees to help him. What Gabriel doesn't expect is falling for the man he's supposed to be protecting. When Gabriel's past must be faced, Ronan doesn't hesitate to be there for the man.

Ronan and Gabriel have an almost insta-lust/insta-love vibe going on. I loved watching them open up to each other and let the other in. They were able to face the past head on, as long as they were by each other’s side.

This is a really good read, and definitely makes you think about what is right, what is wrong, and what justice really means.

Ronan has just been released from jail after serving six years for stealing from trust funds that he managed... and people are out to get their revenge. In one incident, currently out of work bodyguard Gabriel comes to his rescue.

The men get close as they spend time together, and Gabriel has to question how the man he is getting to know could have stolen from anyone. After the way his previous boyfriend treated him, he is cautious, yet cannot help but fall for Ronan.

Ronan is seriously upset by the behaviour of his sister and her husband – as was I! See my statement above about justice... "Marty Has to Pay" posters came to mind.

I do not want to say more, as it will spoil the story, but I found this a well written, clever and sweet read...

From the very first page to the very end, I was hooked. I love Ronan and Gabriel. They seemed so real to me. I felt like I was in the story, living it as it happened. I laughed, cried, and loved right along with them. Highly recommend.

I lost myself in pleasure, soaked to the skin with desire and ecstasy.

Author Bio

FELICE STEVENS has always been a romantic at heart. She believes that while life is tough, there is always a happy ending just around the corner. Her characters have to work for it, however. Like life in NYC, nothing comes easy, and that includes love.

She lives in New York City and has way too much black in her wardrobe yet can't stop buying "just one more pair" of black pants. Felice is a happily addicted Bravo and Say Yes to the Dress addict and proud of it. And let's not get started on House Hunters. Her dream day starts out with iced coffee and ends with Prosecco, because... why shouldn't it? You can find her procrastinating on FB in her reader group.

“Anything’s possible if you want it bad enough. Or anyone.” I laced my fingers with his. “Then I guess I win, because I’ve never wanted anything as much as I want you.”
