Tucker by Emily March

In Eternity Springs: The McBrides of Texas, New York Times bestselling author Emily March presents a brand new arc set in the Lone Star State that features a family-linked trilogy within the author's romantic series.

Hope springs eternal in this enchanting Texas town.

Meet Gillian Thacker. Her business: Bliss Bridal Salon. Her passion: Weddings. Her own wedding: It’s complicated. Life isn’t turning out like she’d planned. The last thing she wants is for a real-life hero to ride to her rescue when an unexpected event puts her entire future in Redemption, Texas, at risk. So what’s a broken-hearted bridal expert to do? Maybe a new set of survival skills is exactly what she needs…

Tucker McBride has been proud to call himself a U.S. Army Ranger. But now that his days of service are over, he’s decided to put his expertise to use by founding a wilderness skills training school. He sets up shop in Redemption, next to Bliss Bridal, and so begins life: Part Two. Marriage has been pretty low on his agenda, but as soon as he meets Gillian, Tucker can’t help but contemplate the ultimate challenge: Convincing the reluctant bride to take his hand and leap into the adventure of a lifetime... until death do they part.

Tucker is not quite sure what he should do now that he walked away from his military career. But while he thinks about it, he can find no better place than in Texas with his cousin. While Tucker figures out what his next moves will be, he can’t help but aid a stranded woman he meets on the road.

Gillian loves love. She is also a shop owner with her mom and they sell wedding dresses. While she is on a weekend vacation with her fiancé, they have a fight and then she has car trouble. While she tries to figure out how to deal with her car troubles, she meets Tucker. He is nice and handsome, but with her fiancé waiting for her, she doesn’t really give it much thought.

Watching Gillian take on the challenges in her life head-on was admirable. Also, watching Tucker figure out what he wants out of his life now that he’s no longer in the military – let’s just say that they complement each other well.

While their romance isn’t a walk in the park, you get to see each of them grow and change in order to become their best selves. The story was a little young adult feeling for me, but I did enjoy the characters and was happy to see that both Gillian and Tucker were able to figure out who they were and what would make them happy.
