Candy Hearts by Erin McLellan Release Blitz

Mechanic Benji Holiday is so over Valentine’s Day and men who don’t get him. A weekend getaway with friends to escape the holiday hubbub is exactly what he needs. But William O’Dare—a stern and silent nightclub owner with “Be My Valentine” practically stamped on his forehead—throws a wrench into Benji’s plans.

William has spent years focused on his career, and it has cost him friendships and love. Inexperienced in the business of romance, he’s on the hunt for the perfect partner, and he’s armed with specific criteria to guide him. But William didn’t expect a hunky mechanic wrapped in satin and lace to show up on his doorstep.

Unable to resist their attraction, Benji and William agree to be secret fake valentines for the weekend, but secrets have a way of getting out. William gets struck by Cupid’s arrow, and as the weekend winds down, he doesn’t want fake or secret. He wants Benji to be his valentine for real and for keeps.

Candy Hearts is a male/male Valentine’s Day novella featuring a house party power outage, meddling friends and siblings, naughty lingerie and naughtier toys, homemade Valentine's Day cards, and a happily ever after.

“This was supposed to be a party. I came to get my mind off my utter aloneness, but instead, the universe has conspired to magnify it.”

“You’re not alone. I’m here.”

Benji waved that comment away. “You know what I mean. The romantic ambiance is wasted on us.”

William made a surprised noise in the back of his throat. After a few seconds, he said, “Why are you alone, then? You’re young and hot and nice. I’d think you’d have partners forming a line.”

“Sexual partners, maybe. It’s a bit harder to get them to stick around.”

“Yeah. I hear you,” William said softly.

Benji narrowed his eyes. “Are we dishing about our sucky love lives? Because I might need some wine for that.”

“Did you bring wine?” William asked.

“No. Do you not have any?”

“Unfortunately not. I was not in charge of food or drinks this weekend.”

“Well, that blows. What are you smiling about?” Benji asked.

William schooled his expression, and Benji could have mourned. “Nothing. You’re very intriguing.”

“Are you making fun of me?”

William sat forward in his chair. “Of course not. I think I could listen to you talk for hours. Even if it’s complaining about your love life. Even if it’s complaining about being stuck here with me.”

“That sounds boring too.”

“What do you suggest we do, then?” William asked.

“It’s your house.” Benji said this petulantly, but with a small, ornery smile. He wanted to goad William into a reaction.

“I have cards.” Benji brightened at that, then William said, “If you want to play Solitaire.”

Benji laughed.

William continued, “You’re welcome to my nonfiction. I own Doris Kearns Goodwin’s entire catalog. There might be a book of Sudoku in my office.”

“So you’re not going to entertain me. Is that the message?”

A charged silence vibrated between them for one breath. Then two. Three.

“Oh, sweetheart, I’d do more than entertain you. If you’d let me.”

This is the second book in the series, and whilst you could read it as a standalone, Stocking Stuffers is a lot of fun and introduces us to Benji's sister, Sasha. We get to meet her and Perry again here, which is fun.

There is a lot of fun, sex, and some home truths being dished out in the anti-Valentine's party weekend. William has finally stood back from his workaholic life to host the weekend with his dearest friends, and this time, Sasha's brother Benji comes too. In fact, thanks to some meddling, he turns up early and the men get to know each other a little before the rest of the gang arrive.

Benji is a successful mechanic who hides a secret love for silky, soft, and supportive lingerie. But as he gets to know William, he realises that he can chance revealing this kink, and even better, William loves it – it is so lovely to watch these two men fight their normal and take a risk on opening up and, even if only for a brief moment, giving into their desires. Whilst they are very different, they have been living half a life, and trying to fit in. Finally, this weekend gives them a chance to be free. It is a joy to read and, along with their friends, want the very best for them.

Another lovely read in the series, thank you, Erin McLellan – I look forward to what is coming next!

This was a super sweet novella. Perfect light read for Valentine's Day. Benji and William have soooo much chemistry it's crazy! Very light on plot and heavy on sex. Benji and his lingerie and toys were nice to read about, and William was happy to see Benji in the sexy lingerie. If you want a fast, fluffy, steamy read, grab this book immediately!

This is a ridiculous bit of Valentine’s Day fluff and I enjoyed it very much. Benji is a beautiful young mechanic who loves to wear pretty lingerie. Fate lands him on the doorstep of William, a reserved older businessman just before Valentine’s Day. And it doesn’t take long before the two men find themselves almost naked and exploring their shared kinks.

There isn’t a whole lot of plot to this story but the characters are warm and entertaining and the sex between William and Benji is steamy and a little bit kinky. There’s actually a little bit more character and relationship development than I’d expect from a book that teases the line between romance and erotica. This is a quick and easy read that left me smiling. It’s pretty much the perfect Valentine’s Day read.
