This is the third book in the series – and one that every fan must have been waiting to read! Drake and Serena have been so close since school, yet never actually got together. This has been because Drake felt he ought not to hold her back, and Serena, having made a move once, never wanted to face rejection again. They are, however, the very closest of friends. We get to enjoy the journey along with the rest of the Bayside gang, over breakfast, Boston, and beach parties.

There is such a lovely light-hearted yet intense nature to both Serena and Drake. They have very strong visions of their future careers and have spent years making sure that they are in control. Their feelings for each other have always had to be sidelined to ensure that the other gets to fulfil their promise. And as Serena has supported Drake in his ventures, he could never stop her from her dream of being a big-time interior designer in Boston.

Reality, however, hits and they both have to reevaluate just what is more important, career, principles, or love. It is great fun watching them figure it all out. Their friends are there every step of the way, interfering in the very funnest way possible, and cheering them along.

Lovely, feel good romance, with plenty of fun and entertainment thrown in – plus a few new characters get to join the Bayside community, giving us promises of more goodness to come!

Drake and Serena have been friends forever. While Serena nursed a crush on Drake, Drake believed that he was saving Serena from him. He wanted Serena to live her life and not commit at such a young age and let's face it, he wanted to go out and have fun himself.

However, everyone is now grown and when it becomes apparent that Serena is starting out on a new path, away from her friends and family, Drake knows he has to act now or maybe forever lose his chance with Serena.

I loved watching Serena and Drake together. Because they started with friendship, it was easy to see them transition into lovers. They already knew so much about each other and they knew that their personalities would click. I think where Serena was surprised was Drake's bedroom quirks. I loved that she was still surprised and how Drake knew that being dominant in the bedroom didn't necessarily equate to making Serena feel like he was taking over her whole life.

These characters were well developed, and their relationship was well thought out. While I knew the direction that Serena would go very quickly, I still enjoyed watching it all unfold.

I can't wait to see Viv's story, as she's a hoot.

As this series progresses, we get a different couple with each book. And we also still have the rest of the friends as the series moves along. This is the third book in the Bayside Summers series and is Drake and Serena's story.

Serena has been working at the resort while waiting for her dream job to come along, and it has finally happened. How does she tell her best friends that she is moving to Boston to live out her dream? And how does she leave Drake, the love of her life, if he only knew how she felt.

Drake has loved Serena for as long as he can remember but he would never tell her that to keep her here and stand in the way of her dream job. He wants her to succeed on her own and he wants her to be his finally.

Can they make a long-distance relationship work? Will her dream job be all she expects it to be? Will the time away from her friends be more of a burden on her than she thought? Will she still be able to make it home on weekends?

I love this series and look forward to each couple’s book and was so happy to see how things worked out for Drake and Serena. To see that this friends-to-lovers relationship has all the ups and downs that could happen in every relationship, makes it the perfect story. And I loved everything about it. I can't wait to see what happens with Violet's story in Bayside Escape.
