The Peppermint Schnapps Predicament by Clare London – Stocking Stuffers

Frankie Faraday is a promising young salesperson at Mason’s Emporium. Bill Mason is his boss, the son of the store’s founder, and the object of Frankie’s long-suffering, deeply devoted crush. Bill is steady and sober; Frankie is frivolous and flaky. Or so they seem to each other, until the night of the annual inventory, when they’re trapped together in the Seasonal Gifts storeroom, with nothing but candy and peppermint schnapps to sustain them until they’re rescued. And then the real truths—and something definitely more intimate—emerge!

Here’s one for everyone who has ever fancied their boss. This is a cute, sweet, and kinda sexy holiday short story about a not-so-chance encounter between a sales assistant and his boss in a store cupboard.

Frankie is probably the most eager sales assistant anywhere. Ever. His workplace enthusiasm is only really tolerable because he is also charming. And cute. His boss, Bill, is slightly less cheerful and much less excited about his job. But he’s also pretty cute.

Trapped in a storeroom, Bill and Frankie spend a few hours getting to know each other a whole lot better. This is an imaginative take on a pretty standard fantasy but I liked both characters and I enjoyed their predicament.

I love romantic Christmas novellas, as they bring all the magic and excitement of Christmas to life with plenty of heartwarming passion.

I love the visuals that this story creates; the description of the mess in the storeroom is wonderful! The author had (I hope) a lot of fun with these two men, the alliteration, the obvious building lust, even in the dark, and a really clever twist to ensure that we get the story we want.

Fun, hot, and very Christmassy; thank you, Ms. London.

CLARE LONDON took her pen name from the city where she lives, loves, and writes. A lone, brave female in a frenetic, testosterone-fueled family home, she juggles her writing with her other day job as an accountant.

She’s written in many genres and across many settings, with award-winning novels and short stories published both online and in print. She says she likes variety in her writing while friends say she’s just fickle, but as long as both theories spawn good fiction, she’s happy. Most of her work features male/male romance and drama with a healthy serving of physical passion, as she enjoys both reading and writing about strong, sympathetic, and sexy characters.

Clare currently has several novels sulking at that tricky chapter-three stage and plenty of other projects in mind… she just has to find out where she left them in that frenetic, testosterone-fueled family home.
