Wild & Sweet by Rhenna Morgan

Live hard, f*ck harder and follow only their own rules. Those are the cornerstones the six men of the Haven Brotherhood live and bleed by, refusing to conform to society's expectations, taking what they want and always watching each other's backs.

Zeke Dugan is not a man who walks the straight and narrow. He may have sworn an oath as a trauma doc, but he has zero problem leveraging his medical skills outside a hospital if it means giving the Brotherhood—the group of men he calls family—an advantage. Blood before business. All that changes when shy Gabrielle stumbles into his life and ignites his protective instincts.

Mechanic Gabrielle Parker prefers the complexities of an engine over men. Her life wasn't always quiet and well-ordered, but now that it is, she finds peace in the solitude. When a robbery in her neighborhood forces her out of her safe bubble, she never fathoms that a dangerous, cocky trauma doctor will fix more than her injuries.

Zeke doesn't play by the rules that Gabrielle follows but knows that he's exactly what she needs in her life. He'll show her the fierce and uncompromising protection that comes from belonging to a man like him.

When tension outside the Brotherhood threatens Gabrielle, Zeke will do anything to keep her safe, and damn the consequences. No one will hurt his woman, even if it means putting the very men who saved his life at risk.

Kris☆☆☆☆
This is the second book in this "new to me" series and this one is about Zeke Duggan. Zeke is a trauma doctor and a member of the Brotherhood. A group of guys who have each other’s backs and are family by choice not birth. While they protect what's theirs, it's not always to the letter of the law. Bringing in a new member is a long process and one they do not take lightly. Getting to know a new brother's family is the first step and Gabrielle is new prospective member, Danny's, only sister. Zeke finds himself in a tough spot, claiming the sister of a new brother is not the best idea. Lord knows he can’t stay away, the shy innocence Gabe exudes is too addicting. Gabe is a bit of a recluse. With social anxiety and abandonment issues, she doesn't let anyone get too close. Her only brother's interest in this group of men makes her very nervous and untrusting. When her and Danny's neighbor's houses start being vandalized and broken into, the Brothers find out there's something fishy going on. All Zeke wants to do is protect Gabe, but will Gabe let him in? That's the hundred dollar question.

I really like Zeke, he's a bit of a thrill seeker and ball of energy. Gabe helps calm him down and he draws Gabrielle out of her anxiety shell. The two were nice together. I enjoyed the story.

The Haven Brotherhood saved Zeke Dugan from going in the wrong direction in his life 10 years ago. After meeting Danny Parker, he wants to help Danny in the same way and bring him into the brotherhood. Being a trauma doctor, Zeke needs something to help with the nerves and to calm him down. He would do a lot of things that others would call risky but to Zeke, it was his way to deal.

When Danny got a call from his sister, Gabrielle, telling him she had been attacked, the doctor in Zeke kicked in and he needed to check her out and make sure she was okay. When they arrived at Danny and Gabe's house, she was refusing help from the EMTs and Zeke's heart skipped a beat. At first, he thought it was just attraction but as he got to know her, it became so much more.

Gabe is someone who doesn't meet people easily. Everything and everyone new scares her, change scares her. Her past is what has shaped her into the person she is today and because of that, she knows that at some point, everyone leaves.

Meeting Zeke and the brothers has her scared that Danny will leave her too. Can she trust Zeke at his word? Will the Brotherhood be there to protect her and Danny when they need them most? Can she let Zeke in and learn to love? Will Zeke have enough patience to help Gabe through her fears?

I loved the first book and this one was even better. You can't help but fall in love with Zeke and Gabe. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Zeke and Gabrielle are amazing together. He is all hot and domineering, she's shy, but confident in her own way.

Gabrielle was hurt by the people in her past – she's recovered, but hasn't truly lived. Her brother has allowed her to develop a bubble surrounding life. While she's confident in her job – likes knowing the rules and likes being alone in her mind.

Zeke seeks thrills. He seeks thrills so that he knows that he's alive. While he loves being an ER doc, he also seeks thrills by skydiving, driving fast, any and every thrill-seeking sport he can find and do, he does. Zeke doesn't really know why he loves taking the risk, but when he meets Gabrielle, those ideas change for him.

Behind her tomboy exterior, Gabrielle is a sex kitten. She draws Zeke in – without trying – and when she allows herself to open her heart up, she realizes that she's been existing rather than living.

Zeke is intrigued by Gabrielle – she has a tough exterior, but he sees something more in her. When he decides to take her brother into the family, she instantly becomes family.

While the romance heats up, there is an underlying mystery and I loved how everything comes together. The other characters are still amazing and when everything is said and done, the family is awesome and I can't wait to read more!

The Haven Brotherhood is a group of men that have chosen each other as family. They will fight at any cost for that family and any they claim as their own.

“We follow what actions we deem are right. Not the path society tells us we have to walk.”

Zeke Dugan didn't have the best past but was saved by the Haven Brotherhood. It was the best thing that ever happened to him. When he meets Danny, he sees something in him that reminds him of himself, he knows the brotherhood is for Danny. It is a long process to become a brother, but he knows Danny is up for it. When Danny finds out his sister has fought off an intruder at the neighbor’s house and is hurt, he's surprised that some of the brothers go with him.

Gabrielle Parker grew up faster than she should have. She was there when her mom would meet up with guys for drugs. She was just a little girl and didn't tell, but has horrible guilt that she didn't. When her mom was arrested, Gabe's father kicked out her mother and filed for divorce. Gabe's hurt won't let people get close. She thinks everyone leaves and she doesn't want to get hurt when they go. Meeting Zeke is hard for her. She doesn't open up easy, but something about Zeke has her breaking her own rules. Zeke's attraction to Gabe could ruin everything they are trying to do with Danny, is she worth it?

I find myself getting lost in these Haven Brothers. The characters are intriguing and pull you in. I can't wait to see where the rest of the series goes.

4.5 stars of hotness deservedly rounded up

This is the second in the series and Ms. Morgan has once again delivered a powerful story, full of heat, passion, and intensity.

Zeke is both a doctor and member of Haven, so his instinct to help is doubly active. When Danny's sister, Gabrielle, is attacked, he cannot help but go with him to see her. Little did he expect to find the woman destined to change his world. Gabe has more issues than being injured, and has to work hard to trust Zeke. Such a beautifully written story, this really does engage the reader and I was completed invested in the success of this romance.

I would recommend that you read these books in order, as they are richer for knowing the whole Haven story. I am now hotly anticipating the next one!

I didn’t love this book as much as book one, even though I was really excited because Zeke was one of my favorite brothers that we were introduced to. Zeke is a trauma doctor with a huge heart, he’s the one who brought Danny to the brotherhood’s doorstep in the hopes of his becoming a member. When Danny’s sister, Gabrielle, gets hurt after an attempted robbery at her neighbor’s house, Zeke tends to her injuries and ignites his protective instincts… and her inquisitive instincts. Gabe suffers from extreme social anxiety and doesn’t really leave her house much for anything other than work, but Zeke sees something within Gabe that he wants to bring out and he makes it his mission in life to bring her out of her shell.

I love that though this book is definitely super steamy, it also has intrigue and mystery with Gabe’s small waterfront neighborhood being sought after by just about every real estate agent around – even the nefarious sort. I love that we get an even larger view into the brotherhood life in this book than we did in book one. It’s really set up what is bound to be an addictive and interesting series.
